I brought a very special commissioned portrait of my son to be framed and had exact specifications on what I wanted. They delivered!! It's perfect and the price was very fair (custom framing can get very expansive and their prices are quite reasonable). Great service and beautiful finished product! I highly recommend Nainsook! read more

Having had great success in the past, we returned to Nainsook with a new image to be framed & once again, were impressed with their suggestions & overjoyed with their absolutely stunning execution. Roger & Debra, La Mesa CA read more

More than the price or the quality of the frames, both of which are top notch, the customer service is fantastic. Nothing is perfect, and mistakes happen. And one such mistake happened with my order. After I took home my frame, I noticed that the poster inside had shifted slightly, showing the white edge of the poster that was supposed to be covered by the frame mat. I was very disappointed and thought I would have to pay to have this fixed, but upon contacting Nainsook they took care of me and fixed the issue without any badgering. A wide selection of frames, glass, and expert suggestions on frame design; these are all things you can expect here, but fantastic customer service is the reason I already had a second print framed here. If you have artwork worth more than a trip to Michael's, I would happily recommend Nainsook. I'd also recommend taking advantage of the significant new customer discount by bringing all the artwork you want to get done. Thank you to the employees that were so patient in helping me choose the materials/colors for my frame. I'm picky and also wasn't sure what I exactly wanted, but came out with a frame better than what I imagined. Know that if you're indecisive about what you want they will be there for you the entire time. read more

I highly recommend this frame shop! We had two oil paintings that were gifted to us. The paintings were removed from the canvas frames, so they had to be restretched and framed. They have an amazing selection of frames and their customer service is top notch! Our pieces came out beautifully. I used to work for one of the big retail frame shops many years ago. Nainsook's quality work is unmatched! read more

I want to commend and recommend Nainsook Framing in La Mesa, CA 91941. They always take excellent care of the customer and their needs. I found a scrawled note from my late husband in a small notebook and I asked them to frame it for me. We discussed frame, matting and price. They did an excellent job. Thank you Dan and Hayley and team. read more

I have never had anything custom framed before so I went into my experience with Nainsook ignorant to how any of it worked. Everyone was super nice and collaborative and we worked through various mats, frame types combos until we found the right one that seemed just right. It took a few weeks for the piece to be framed and I could not be happier with the result. It was worth every penny, they did an absolutely flawless job and took what is a special piece to me and elevated it in ways I didn't expect. 10/10 would recommend. They will not let you down! read more

We've taken several pieces of art to be conserved and framed/re-framed and the results have always been exactly what we wanted. They are helpful making suggestions. They've used the old frames when we have asked them and with classic results. We highly recommend them - and, they are friendly and knowledgable! read more

Service was great. I don't dabble in frames much so I can't speak for selection, but there was enough selection for me! Pricey, but again, I just may be naive in frame pricing. They did not disappoint with their service and quality though! Very nice ladies at the shop. read more

I've said it before and I'll say it again, gotta show the love for local small businesses. First time I went in I "only" took a couple of items to test Nainsook out. Staff was friendly and patient as they went through all the options. I stuck with the basics to see how it went and then discovered the work is SO GOOD, I had to go back for the big jobs. Love how creative the artists get given my blind eye for colors. Couldn't be more pleased with the outcome. Some might get sticker shock from the prices, but you get what you pay for. Top dollar for top quality. AND, they did work in a nice discount given how many items I took in. I'll be back after I save up a wittle bit more. read more

I took 3 black & white photos of my husband's father in to have framed in a collage, and Judy & Wendy were stellar in helping me sort out the best layout for the pictures. I also had a tie & air force wings to add & they did a fabulous job of piecing it all together. They made excellent suggestions while leaving the final arrangement to me. I really appreciated their expertise as well as their hospitality. It's a 'warm' business & you can tell they take a lot of pride in their work. Couldn't be happier! One of the best experiences I've had in a long time! Dan and the whole team not only spent quite a bit of time with me designing the frames, but then got everything done far ahead of schedule and the artwork looks phenomenal. I am so grateful that I found Nainsook to frame my new artwork. When I purchased a handmade Mexican amate cutout, I struggled to envision how it should best be displayed. After reading the glowing reviews, I knew there was only one place to go. Judy and Wendy went to work gathering options for the frame and mat, expertly guiding me to the perfect combination of materials that yielded a perfect result. They were both very patient with me as we spent a great deal of time designing the piece. Some time later, they called me back in to inspect the variations between the store samples and the actual frame and mat that were delivered. When we agreed to make some adjustments and changes, their flexibility and expertise once again led to the best outcome. We are thrilled with the results, and excited to display the artwork on our wall. There is no question that I will return for my next framing project - you should too! read more

I wanted to get a shadowbox built as a gift for my father, a retired senior police officer, but was unsure of where to start. I chose Nainsook not only because of their already excellent reviews on social media, but because they were an independent and local business. I have family in the art business, and they have always emphasized how important it is to support local shops. I brought my fathers badge, picture, and a small plaque I had made into the store, and the employees were incredibly helpful with assisting me pick out the design and colors for the shadowbox. The pricing was well within reason for what I had wanted, and I was quoted a 4-6 week completion time. Just under 4 weeks later I received a call that the shadowbox was completed. I went down the next day and was overjoyed with the final product! It came out better than I could have expected, and my father loved it. I could tell the staff at Nainsook put a lot of hard work, skill, and love into the project, especially knowing how much it meant. read more

The folks at Nainsook are so helpful and kind. I had a kind of weird & difficult job, and they handled it with grace. Highly recommend!

Great place, I highly recommend! This was the first time I'd bought a piece of art directly from an artist, and I'd never gone through the process before of having a special print framed. Judy helped me feel confident right away that I had come to the right place. She treated the artwork with special care, and was patient with me as I made decisions on the choices of matte and frames. Then when it was ready for pick up, Wendy showed me the piece and took time to explain the care of the artwork, and how to handle it. She even helped carry it out to my car! I really appreciate that the team there cares deeply for art, as well as the customer service they offer to their customers. Again, I highly recommend Nainsook - and thank them for their help making my print look even more beautiful. read more
