Based on my experience, I could not recommend Threads for cushions. Ties for dining chair seat pads were supposed to have Velcro on the ties, was not done. I requested foam for 2 other chair cushions ( this appears on the order form) and I received 6" thick poly fill cushions that were way too large. For rattan chairs. I offered to leave the chair with them but Brenda declined- I figured as the owner and a designer she knew what she was doing. I showed a picture of what I liked. Six weeks later I picked up the cushions, said I could live with the ties, but the other cushions were completely wrong. She asked me to wait 2 weeks until after July 4 to bring cushions and chair back. I agreed. Took them back- we discussed, way too large, why not the foam, I wanted firm and shape was wrong. Two weeks later I received call to please come in and look at the revisions. Still too long, still not shaped and still not foam. Got a call 1 1/2 weeks later, cushions were back and they looked great. I went to pick up- still too long, still no foam and maybe- corners had been shaped but otherwise nothing had been done. Brenda made no comment as I took chair and cushions. I knew I would never get what I wanted and paid for from her. I am donating the cushions to Humble Design which decorates 1st homes for the homeless and hoping they will get some donated chairs that could use 6" thick puffy cushions. Threads is the most fantastic shop in all of San Diego for fabrics. Brenda has rooms of fabric on display and another room of books with fabric swatches that you can order from. Brenda and David did a magnificent job creating custom Roman shades for my kitchen and a custom bed cover to match pillows that I had purchased at another store - Brenda was able to order the same fabric!! They are delightful and excellent to work with and they worked diligently to get everything perfect for me. Don't waste your time going to any other stores - they have it all!!! read more

I visited Threads yesterday looking for upholstery fabric for a vintage piece. I had a certain print in mind and had been unable to find it locally. I called before I went and was quoted a price so I headed down. Threads is a good distance from my house but I had seen something about them on instagram and wanted to check it out. The store is full of beautiful fabrics and lots of samples. They have what you're looking for or they can order it. The person on the phone and the person who rang me up were very helpful and kind. My purchase was easy and my fabric should be delivered to my house in a couple weeks. Parking is on the street but there is a lot a little walk to the north. The shop is very cute and creatively arranged. It's close to Costco on Morena. If you're looking for fabric or wallpaper you should stop by. You won't be disappointed. read more

Poor customer service. Not very professional. As a customer, I was very patient waiting for assistance from the principal. She did not engage after a proposal was made and basically ignored me. Definitely need assistance since most fabrics are on bolts stacked in layers. Too heavy to move. There are much better upholstery companies than this one. read more

They have rolls and rolls of fabric on bolts ready to be cut as well as sample fabrics for special orders. Their fabric on bolts average $25/yard. I asked for an estimate on reupholstering a chair, and it came in on the lower end of several estimates I got. I will definitely turn to them next time I need fabric or to have something reupholstered. read more

I came into Threads hoping to buy some sheer fabric for one of my installation projects; I'm a visual arts major currently studying at UCSD so money can be a bit tight for me at times. I was hoping to come in and get a good deal on the fabric I needed and ended up leaving the store with everything I needed *free* of charge since it was leftover material. Had I gone to Joann's I imagine I would have spent upwards of $60, so I'm very, very grateful. Threads is fantastic! Everyone there is extremely knowledgeable! Brenda came to my home at 8 AM sharp today and did several measurements for me. Later I met her at the shop where there was a great variety of fabrics to choose from. Brenda had me look around and show her what I liked and then immediately honed in on two fabrics she recommended that were just perfect. We also chose some other window treatments that are just gorgeous. Brenda is extremely knowledgeable and knows her stuff!! I had an amazing experience today and met two other employees that were great as well!! I'm going to be getting my drapes and other window treatments in two weeks. It was Friday late in the PM that I and my wife were desperately looking for a fabrics store in San Diego area to buy critically needed fabric cloths to refurbish our dining chairs for a dinner on Saturday. We called few stores we could find but they were 30 minutes from closing time and did not want to wait for us. Our last hope was to call this store (Threads) and luckily the lady, named Brenda, on the phone was so kind to offer us to come in and waited for us. Upon arrived, we were greeted with a great smile & reception despite Brenda was multi-tasking with helping other customers to close out their transactions at the cashier. She sent us to meet up with her assistant in the back room. Once Brenda finished with her customers, she went to meet us and learned about what we needed. Once she got all the information, she showed us her collections of suitable fabrics and explained the pros & cons for our situations. We quickly found the very nice cloths to replace our dining chairs seats and Brenda also gave us some helpful instructions on how to properly do replace the cover for our chairs seats. W/o Brenda's kindness, professionalism, and down-to-earth customers service & cheerful attitude, we would not have been able to replace our dining chair seats covers in time for our family get-together dinner! Worst place and even worst customer service. I ordered drapes for my home and to this day they can't deliver a properly finished product. They are too long, too short, they wrinkle and don't open and closE smoothly. To top it off, Brenda has been rude and extremely unhelpful. I asked for my money back and was denied.
