Lovely, wonderful store for apparel fabrics. Natural cottons, linens, wool, some high quality…read moreviscose. All selected with care and an eye for deliciousness. It is not the biggest store in the world. But I found waaay more fabrics I wanted to take home here than in any big box store I have been to. I thought the prices were good for the quality I was getting. I got some lovely woven cotton for nightshirts, some lace for my granddaughters dress, good Guttenberg thread, and a set of French needles and pins from a brand I had read about. The cliche of hugging the fabrics in the store because you love them so much is true here. I saw a 60's inspired bright silky print that made me want to sew a flowy caftan, move to Palm Springs, and throw a FABulous party. What more can I say?

While visiting San Diego, I always try to find fabric as a souvenir, and stopping into Fringe…read moreFabrics was such a treat. The shop has a beautiful selection of apparel fabrics, with lots of tropical, fun, colorful options that feel perfect for flowy garments, alongside more neutral choices as well. I ended up purchasing a really lovely tropical viscose and an incredible deadstock Gucci bouclé that immediately spoke to me and it happened to be on sale, which made it even better. The owner was wonderful: warm, knowledgeable, and genuinely fun to talk with. We chatted about the fabrics and brainstormed what I might sew with them, which made the experience feel extra special. Highly recommend stopping by if you love sewing or beautiful fabric. It's a great shop with a thoughtfully curated selection, and I'm so glad I made it part of my trip.

I was thrilled when this store opened in Mira Mesa. The store is clean and well stocked and items…read moreare easy to find. I struggled giving this location the five stars it would deserve if they had good staff who provided exceptional customer service and were knowledgeable about the products. Unfortunately they fall short in that area. This has been an issue every time I shop here. Today. The cashier didn't even greet me and there were no words between us throughout the entire transaction. I know if I owned this business I wouldn't be disappointed with the employees and I'd ensure they received extensive customer service training. I hope the management can make some improvements as far as service so this store will continue to thrive in this location.

I asked a simple question at checkout whether the store would ever start accepting Apple Pay. Instead of just saying she didn't know or giving a straightforward answer, the assistant manager (her name was something like Bridget/Bethany/Bertha started with a B) gave me a whole lecture in front of a long line of customers. She went on about how she would have to contact corporate, how there are thousands of stores, and basically made me feel like I was bothering her for asking a normal customer question. Her tone was extremely passive-aggressive and dismissive very hostile. On top of that, the store was very busy, customers were waiting, and she seemed more focused on closing lines than actually helping anyone. Her overall behavior felt unprofessional and uncomfortable. I've never had an employee make me feel embarrassed for simply asking about a payment option. I hope corporate takes this seriously, because customer service should never make people feel talked down to or humiliated I'd rather take my business to Walmart from now on.

They are super patient and will teach you all the basics needed to create some beautiful items. Our youngest kid loves this place and now has the whole family going to create and just have fun away from all digital noise. We were in SD for my birthday weekend getaway. We had reservations for a restaurant at dinner time…read moreso we had time during the day to do something so we decided to give pottery another go. We took a class at a pottery place in Laguna Beach last year so we wanted to give it a try again because it was pretty fun! We did the one time class pottery wheel try it class. It was $80 per person. Which is on the pricier side, compared to the other class we took last time. I will say this class was more informative than our last class. Our instructor taught us how to start working with our clay, demonstrated how to do it, worked with us, helped us out, showed us different techniques and steps on how to form our pottery. It's was definitely more challenging this time around because I think we didn't have to do as much in our last class we did. My boyfriend said he didn't like the pace of the class and having to work with a whole class. Our last class had less people so it was more intimate and slower, as for this class it was a little bit more of a faster pace. In the end we made 2 pieces. First one was like a practice piece and the second one was when you kind of got the hang of it and the final product looked better. We were only able to take one piece home. Our instructor said she typically does 2 pieces because she teaches faster but we are only able to take one. Honestly, I didn't like my first one too much so I was okay with that but I know some other people in the class wanted to take both. After you are done you have to clean up everything and put everything away. Then you chose the color glaze you want from a choice of 4 or 5. They glaze it for you then they tell you when it's ready for pick up. We are not from SD but it's an excuse to come back down to pick up our pottery.
