I visited Threads yesterday looking for upholstery fabric for a vintage piece. I had a certain…read moreprint in mind and had been unable to find it locally. I called before I went and was quoted a price so I headed down. Threads is a good distance from my house but I had seen something about them on instagram and wanted to check it out. The store is full of beautiful fabrics and lots of samples. They have what you're looking for or they can order it. The person on the phone and the person who rang me up were very helpful and kind. My purchase was easy and my fabric should be delivered to my house in a couple weeks. Parking is on the street but there is a lot a little walk to the north. The shop is very cute and creatively arranged. It's close to Costco on Morena. If you're looking for fabric or wallpaper you should stop by. You won't be disappointed.

Was told they needed my machine to test it on. Yeh the machine it didn't work on. Never asked what model machine it was to nor even looked at it. Found another location to test it. Didnt work so was able to go home and order a replace online for $22 and three days later it was delivered and works great. How can a Bernina dealer not have any machines to test a foot pedal on? My Brother/Elna dealer has numerous models on display for those interested in trying various machines before purchasing and to test things like foot pedals on. I don't recommend them as they didn't seem very knowledgeable nor very willing to help.

It is important that you know your community and you are willing to negotiate as a family business. That is what will keep your business alive. I was really excited over the reviews, saying how quick they were to get back, how reasonable their prices were, and how they were willing to work with everyone. When I asked them for a quote to re-upholster 17x20 dining room chair, they wanted to charge $75 a piece for 6 dining room chairs. No deal, no hourly rate; no negotiation whatsoever. Then they said that they would not do delivery because normally you can "unscrew" the seat of the chair. I'm sorry, but by the time I unscrew the chair and bring a bunch of those over to you with my own fabric, what am I even paying you for? This might be really reasonable for upper class people. They did say at this business that reasonable is relative and I would agree. I was not able to get my service done here because it is way too steep. They were cordial, but clearly exclusive.

Today I unroll it to do my project and the rubber backing is dried and rotted, when you cut it all the pile falls out. Even where you dont cut it just rub it and the pile falls out leaving a bare spot. Now these guys handle this stuff all day, theres no way when he cut this off the roll he didnt see this was defective because it leaves a helluva mess. I brought it straight home and didnt store it outside or in a hot car. (Its automotive carpet anyway!) I dont think I will be back soon if theyre trying to unload old defective product, this is not cool.
