This Michaels is located by Target. They moved to this location a few years ago, I do miss it when it was across from Nordstrom Rack. I love browsing the aisles, looking at DIY projects etc. The prices are moderate to pricey, depends on the items but I like that you can get discounts when you sign up for their rewards program. It can be 20% to 50/75% off! I like that they offer curb side pick up and order online to pickup. It's so much faster since they have a designated pick up area; some times their lines can be super long. Excellent service from the cashiers and on floor staff. You can find almost anything at Micheal's DIY project wise and if you don't; they sell many more items online for shipping.

It is definitely worth a trip to see find supplies to craft your next treasure. Love this location! Our family calls it the "super" Michael's. It is huge! You can find a wide selection of items. This location is well-staffed with clearly marked aisles. The staff was extremely helpful and efficient when juggling a few customers and ensuring we find our desired items. This time had some great deals on the yarn.

A special poster that I had framed at Michael's.

Yes the professional art supplies are expensive but they are expensive EVERYWHERE. I have been to this location on several occasions and every time I find the staff to be friendly, helpful and professional. I had two special items framed for Christmas (using an online/email deal that saved me a ton of money) and wow they look amazing and the staff was so knowledgeable and professional all the way. I always find great bargains in the sale rows and the store is super clean and organized. I love our local Mission Bay Michael's! PS Parking is easy and plentiful.

Best thing about this place is the location. It's clutch. I feel like it's a bit hidden too which means less foot traffic. But again I come and do mid afternoon trips or late night trips during the week which could contribute to why it's not a ton of people here. You can't go wrong here. It has all the basics your heart desires ... frames, crafts, paint, seasonal items and then some. It's one of those stores where I don't come enough and so the layout feels a bit weird to me. And there's not enough staff on the floor to help me find stuff more efficiently so that's the only hiccup I'd say in my experiences here. When I do find them, they never steer me wrong. There's always some sort of sale or coupon here. Usually if things I don't need or bought else where so it's not entirely helpful but I'm sure if you're more diligent and intentional than I am, you can maximize your savings. Parking lot in back is where I typically park. It's a quicker entrance rather than going though the mall. It's conveniently located next to the target and Nordstrom if you're making it a more longer shopping experience. You can generally find everything you need here and some miscellaneous ones you wouldn't expect to find at a craft store. I like to think this place as the Target or Office Depot crafts. No need to look any where else if you need art supplies. Unless of course you prefer more local shops which I always recommend. Try and catch them during a sale. You won't regret it!

Michaels location moved from being inside the mall to totally outside of it. I wish they still had a way to get in on the mall side. It's located on the side of target, there is a small parking lot on this side but it's tough to get in and out of. They were very short staffed, took 15 minutes to check out, long lines. The store is very large on the inside. Love all the Halloween and fall stuff. They have events every Sunday but most of the time the events start late or are skipped entirely due to staffing issues which has been disappointing.

Wait in front of the store for curbside pickup.

Covid-19: Homeschool Supplies (1) Michels is not only an art and craft store they sell educational toys and educational workbooks. We need to be extra thankful to our children's teachers and the school administrators when school reopens. Going on the third week of doing homeschool for my 3 boys and I'm scrambling for hands on things to do. I've ordered things online and have been waiting for it's arrival. I found out Michale's offers you to order online and pick up at the store. How the company is helping prevent Covid-19: The store is closed to customers. You place an order online and you will get a notification when it's ready. Not everything is available for pick up. When you look online it lets you know. When you arrive there is a designated place to park. You call the store and let the employee know your order number a description of your car. You pop open the trunk and the employee places the items in along with a receipt. I ordered later in the afternoon and my order was ready the following day. The whole process went smooth. I called when I got there and within a few minutes someone came out to drop off the items I ordered.

Nick did a wonderful job framing my picture. He is professional and personable. He gave me VIP treatment! I am donating a picture of Joe Louis to a local restaurant for Black History Month. Nick did such a great job...I want to keep the picture. Lol.

This Michaels used to be my go to store last year, I bought a bunch of frames for my posters and pictures, but the price has since gone up for all the Studio Decor frames, even the one that I bought before, I found the similar sizes at Target next door for $10 a piece, while I would pay $40 plus for a price of one frame plus taxes and discounted coupon; also the employee didn't seem to have knowledge about helping customers, I got some puzzles pictures today, and when I told her I would put that on the thinnest frame, she said it wouldn't work, I can tell she didn't know anything, because after I left to Target, I fitted 4 puzzles in the same frame size of 24x36. Oh well, they have more stocks on frames but just not the ones I am looking to buy anymore.

Already picked and ready to go. Staff member just couldn't stay focused enough to help me.

I needed to get my son's college diploma framed. Upon arrival, there was only 1 person in front of me which typically means I would be next. While waiting I already picked out my frame and the double mattes; thinking...this should be easy and quick. Staff member: May I help you? Me: Yes 1st interruption by original customer: original customer comes back and ask another question which sends the staff member to another room to look for whatever the customer is inquiring about. Staff member: Sorry about that, how can I help you. Me: yes, I would like to have these two mattes and ... 2nd Interruption: I'm here to pick up... Staff member: darts off again to help this customer. Staff member returns for the 3rd time: ok, how can I help you. Me: do you have a mahogany color frame; simple like this black one? 3rd interruption by another customer: excuse me I was here last week and ... Staff Member: once again she turns her attention to the other customer. Really? Come on! It is so rude for other customers to horn their way in front of another customer without waiting their turn, but it's another thing for the staff member to not be able to say, 'I'll be with you after I help this person.' Management- train your people! Staff member- you are nice, stay focused on the customer you are helping and tell others to wait.

I bought three picture frames and all three were damaged. You can't tell with the plastic on. Do NOT buy picture frames here.

We only ended up leaving with a Trans mimic sticker (queer friendly!!) and had a lovely interaction with staff members before leaving. It was more than time to find a local game store. I started the search and came across Brute Force Games. They had a pretty decent website. So I gave the store a call, and asked stupid questions (is this in stock?). While they didn't have what I was looking for, the staff was super helpful and didn't mind the questions. I decided that I would have to stop by the store in person. The overall aesthetics of the shop were amazing. Much larger than I was anticipating - but the layout was extremely well setup. With the cashiers being in the middle, they had 3 different registers going at the same time. While there was still a rather large line, it went by rather quick. The store also had a great selection of products, I was able to find the Alien RPG expansion - which I haven't seen in most stores. They also had a wide range of TCGs, Board Games, Trinkets and Warhammer stuff. While we were shopping there were running a Magic the Gathering tournament - there was plenty of space for both shoppers and players. The entire stuff was quite helpful, and we were able to find everything we were looking for. Overall a very solid experience - certainly one of the better game stores I've been to. Not only is it clean, but there is plenty of room. You most likely find something you are looking for, and the best part is that they are local.

This spot is pretty spacious, especially for people who want to hang out and play Magic or other card games. They've got a snack bar, tons of Pokémon cards, plus One Piece and Magic displays for sale. They carry a good mix of singles, graded cards, boosters, ETBs, etc. Maeve helped me most of the time whenever I had questions about pricing--she's super knowledgeable and easy to talk to. We even bonded over our tattoos, which was a nice touch. Prices on boosters and ETBs are a bit on the higher side. I'm not a huge fan of paying over MSRP, but if you can't find certain items out in the wild, this is still a solid place to grab them. I ended up picking up a graded Vaporeon (one of my favorites). It was super affordable since it's an 8.5, but it makes a really cute display piece for my place. Overall, it's a cool shop worth checking out if you're into Pokémon or trading card games

While waiting properly behind the designated line sign to purchase an item, an aggressive male customer began crowding and verbally harassing me to move up past the boundary. When I directly asked the cashier on duty to enforce the store's line policy, she explicitly agreed with me that customers are supposed to wait behind the sign, but then followed it up with, "Yes, but it's okay." It is absolutely not "okay" for a boutique toy store in San Diego to permit a grown man to harass a woman shopping alone. By refusing to enforce basic civility and line boundaries, your staff actively validated hostile behavior over a sensory toy. When I contacted corporate regarding this incident, I received a completely generic, automated brush-off stating they hope I "visit again soon," completely ignoring the safety breakdown that occurred under their watch. Allowing this type of unchecked aggression to slide in a toy store where families and children shop is incredibly dangerous. This total lack of accountability and failure to expect basic respect from adults is exactly what escalates into full-on physical brawls over merchandise. I now actively dread going to this location because management refuses to hold disruptive adults accountable. I am putting this on the public record now, and when a major escalation inevitably happens here because staff refuses to maintain basic order in the NeeDoh line, I will be back to update this review. Shop elsewhere if you value a safe, respectful environment.
