    I think that Leadership here definitely is lacking. Having live next to the store for the better part of the decade I've always utilized it for both my military, Business, and HOA needs. I've had mixed results. I do enjoy that the staff at the printing center is very knowledgeable. The only problems that I've ever had has always been with the managers and or assistant managers of the store. Today was no exception and I feel at odds writing this because last time that I did have an issue with the manager, he ended up apologizing, which I was very thankful for because I think it was just a misunderstanding altogether however, this time when asking about a return policy after being told that I was able to return something previous unfortunately they were not able to find my receipt utilizing the same method that I utilize today I brought in my receipts to return items and mention this to the person that I was returning, and was told that the item that I was returning was no longer going to be accepted because it was past the due date. another item that I had returned I was told that it was open. I told them that I did not open it fortunately, they were able to return it however, the main item which was a LabelMaker was not opened by me. It was open by the store associate that day. I was told that I opened it when I rebuttal and said that he just opened that up and then turned into when did you purchase the item? I said I purchased it here according to my receipt and showed them the receipt he refused to initially scan the receipt and wanted to type it in, which was not a problem. I noticed that his tone was demeaning and condescending, and so as I was wrapping up the initial return minus the other return of the unopened label maker. I asked specifically what constituted constitute a technology and the electronics, and he continuously reiterated that my item was a piece of technology. I rebuttaled a Wheel is technology isn't it? His reply was that he needed to get back to work. I said you are at work. You're answering your clients or a customer's question specifically why I was told two different things by two different people and now I have this item in which I didn't spend a grand amount of money on, and I can absorb the loss, but the fact that I'm not able to return it after being told, I was able to return it after being told that I needed the receipt after I've already presented my debit cards And use the same one that was accepted. Why now am I not able to return it? Additionally, I want to understand the policy a little bit better so I can make my decisions on whether or not I can utilize Amazon in the future, which at this point has been way more convenient than walking less than a block away from my condo to get to This location. I caution him on his tone and reminded him that I am a customer regardless and I'm trying to keep it as civil as possible due to the fact that I have utilize the store and appreciate the customer service I have received in the past by different associates. I asked to have tape and or sleeve for one of my UPS packages and was told that they don't have tape. I pointed out that they have tape right there and he said I'll have to charge you a dollar for the tape. I said how much is a roll of tape and he said go look. I said well if you can look it up on your PDA right? I'm curious I don't have time to go through each one and I already went over there and I didn't see them. He relented and told me that it varied. I asked specifically how much one roll of tape was since he wasn't going to allow me to use his and again told me that it varied based upon how much tape and the kind of kind of tape I said, specifically scotch tape as I pointed to the one that they said they did not have sitting on the counter that he was next to. I attempted to have a heart-to-heart with him, letting him know that I found it funny that in the past, I've been able to utilize tape and they usually have tape available in their self help portion, not only to include that but pens and paper clips, but I couldn't get a single piece of tape. I wanted nothing free, but I wanted to see his continued behavior get worse and it sure did. I don't think that Carlos should be fired, but I do think that Carlos needs to receive additional training as a store manager in reference to dealing with clients/customers.

    Huge Office Depot in downtown San Diego. Clean, but barely staffed. I have been here few times and finding someone to help you is always the problem. I like coming here as it is walking distance from my apartment, but at the same time, prices are on the expensive side. Positive: huge selection of everything office....

    I was looking for same-day printing services and had called around to a couple places. Everyone was pretty backlogged. I even went to FedEx/Kinko's to print my own and it would have been very expensive and I would have done my own cutting. I walked into this Office Depot, and Stacey at the printing services counter was incredibly helpful. The whole process was so speedy and I had 100 copies of what I needed cut perfectly within 15 minutes. The pricing was fair and competitive. I will be back here for my same-day printing needs.

    Terrible customer service by store manager. Poor quality print yet won't admit their mistake. Do not recommend. Possibly the worst customer experience from the store manager this afternoon. We needed booklets on short notice for tomorrow, but when we picked up the booklets all the white colors across the brochure were VERY off and there were white lines on the corners of every page. The above issues weren't shown in the computer preview and we even called before ordering to confirm that the preview was what we could expect the booklet to look like. Not only was the print quality far from good, the store manager was extremely rude -- the lady who serviced us was kind enough to offer a full refund and sent us home with the order because we had no choice but to use these booklets for tomorrow. The store manager yelled at us as we walked out with the boxes saying "what are you doing?! I can't let you take that?". He was probably going to throw out the booklets anyway. He then proceeded to argue that the messed up white color was that way because "we provided poor quality photos". This statement we know is untrue because the lady at the print desk who helped us had told us that the store has been experience printer issues, so this error can happen. So we ended up having to pay for half of the order ($150). We initially upgraded the text and paper quality but this print quality was far from what we expected. Our business pride itself on high quality products and this print job destroys our brand image. But we had to pay for the booklets and use them anyway cuz of the store's mistake and unwillingness to admit or rectify it. Do not recommend going to this store, and now that I'm looking at previous reviews, can understand why.

    I picked up my tax software from this Office Depot located downtown. They open at 10 am and have a good parking lot which is nice for a downtown business. The software I needed was right up and front when I walked in. Office Depot had a $10 of for members so I certainly took advantage of that. Service at the register was alright. The young man at the register was friendly enough but not much of a conversationalist.

    Honestly dislike having to shop anywhere downtown because of the parking, construction etc etc. I only go downtown to eat. I've been shopping right before work because it's the time I've been able to squeeze in y to do lists. I needed to print and laminate something's and looked up an Office Depot near my job and this one popped up. I looked at the pictures first to see the parking lot haha. To my surprise the parking lot was huge. So I knew I wouldn't mind stopping here. It was easy to find and I always love shopping out of my neighborhood because I don't run into anyone I know haha. I'm horrible but it's so true. Haha. I was looking around and as soon as a worker spotted me they asked if I found everything ok which I appreciated. I wish I got the name of the employee who helped me with printing and laminating cause she helped 3 of us at the same time, it was so quick and efficient just how I like! I'm definitely going to make this Office Depot my go to from now on!

At this Staples, I see lots of customers who are frustrated while there are numerous Staples employees who are obviously available and not helping! I find it VERY strange that Amazon buys Staples and then only assigns ONE person, when UPS has like 4, to handle the abundance of returns. Perhaps Amazon wants everyone to pay $1 for every return and force people to return to UPS? I am not sure who makes the $1 - Amazon or UPS, but something is fishy. The manager obviously knows of the LONG LINE PROBLEM and yet NO SOLUTIONS are being offered. Why is the manager responding to these complaints saying they are doing their best, when it is clear, they are NOT! Solution: Assign 3-4 people to do returns and people will most likely not be mad and might even make a purchase in your store!!! I don't know a single successful business in any industry who is fine with one hour waits....with no sense of urgency other than this place. The staff seems zombie like and even with an hour wait, there are times where new staff are being trained at a snails pace putting more strain on the customers. Really bad way to run a business. Shame on you. You should be embarrassed.

I appreciated that we got no pressure whatsoever from Sherry, who helped us during our visit. She was very knowledgeable about everything in the store, including the mattresses we were looking at. We did end up purchasing a mattress that day, and Sherry continued to be awesome, helping us through the process of having to exchange the bases that were sent to us, which were the incorrect size. She helped us set up white glove delivery of the correct size base, which we really appreciated. Overall, a great experience with this business. Sherry really made the difference in our experience.

When we decided what we wanted, because it was the weekend she needed to wait until a weekday to check manufacturing at HT and get back to us. We've since spoken and confirmed a time frame. Because caring for your body parts is VERY important to your quality of life, we highly suggest this store and the kind folks there.
