The Staples in PB is super reliable and easy to get in and out of. It's clean, well-stocked, and they usually have exactly what I need without having to hunt around. I've used them for printing a few times too and it's always quick and straightforward. Also love that they added Party City balloons, it's such a useful addition when you need something last minute. I have gone to this staples 5 times in a row (all different times a day) just to find an hour wait to do Amazon returns. I had to go to UPS and pay $1 per return just so I could keep my schedule. At this Staples, I see lots of customers who are frustrated while there are numerous Staples employees who are obviously available and not helping! I find it VERY strange that Amazon buys Staples and then only assigns ONE person, when UPS has like 4, to handle the abundance of returns. Perhaps Amazon wants everyone to pay $1 for every return and force people to return to UPS? I am not sure who makes the $1 - Amazon or UPS, but something is fishy. The manager obviously knows of the LONG LINE PROBLEM and yet NO SOLUTIONS are being offered. Why is the manager responding to these complaints saying they are doing their best, when it is clear, they are NOT! Solution: Assign 3-4 people to do returns and people will most likely not be mad and might even make a purchase in your store!!! I don't know a single successful business in any industry who is fine with one hour waits....with no sense of urgency other than this place. The staff seems zombie like and even with an hour wait, there are times where new staff are being trained at a snails pace putting more strain on the customers. Really bad way to run a business. I love the convenience of this store's location. I utilize their printing options weekly and it has saved me so much on time. My only real complaint is that they are under staffed. Came in for an amazon return on a Saturday afternoon. This parking lot is crammed, but found a spot. There was 1 poor woman working the amazon returns counter, with a ton of people waiting in line. I had a lot of returns, and self admittedly held up the line (after I got done there were probably 10 people in line waiting). This review is for Amazon returns: Corporate murica dont care about you, they want your $$ while not caring about service, respect, efficiency and many other human things. This is why you have little to no workers on staff. This creates a common bottleneck that most or all deal w/suffering through. Only way to not is show up early AM when they open. It is consistently understaffed, which makes you have to wait 15-45 minutes in line. It's really unfortunate. When in a couple weeks ago to get some printing done for my mother in laws Celebration of Life. Abby was so friendly and patient with me. I was having some issues trying to submit the order online (totally my fault because I'm older and not so tech savvy). She walked me through the whole process. I went into Staples to today to do a project for my Airbnb. I needed to make copies from my phone and was unsure how to do that. I asked Jason behind the counter for direction and he was very annoyed and did not want to offer any assistance, gruffly telling me to read the instructions on the printer. I went into the store to buy ink for my HP Printer and look for a planner. I asked an associate to help me find the correct ink cartridge. At the registered the associate, as he was ringing me up, he asked me if I have found everything I was looking for. I said actually, no. I explained to him that another associate was looking up online the ink cartridge that I needed for my printer. I was told because my printer was so old that finding the ink cartridge would be difficult. He suggested try to look on eBay as a possibility, or consider buying a new printer. The associate then asked me what ink cartridge I needed and he looked it up and found the correct one and it was in stock at the store. He was extremely helpful and kind. I was actually very glad that he did ask the stereo typical customer service question and I replied honestly. I was able to leave with exactly what I came for. I was definitely a happy customer. It turns out that the associate that was ringing me up, was actually the manager, Darrell. He was extremely helpful and informative. This is definitely the Staples store I will be doing all my shopping at. My two trips to Staples today were very positive! First one, I needed to print and make copies. It's super efficient and cost effective, you just email the documents and self serve. I was in and out in about 5 minutes. Second trip, I needed passport pictures and supplies. Chuy was the associate helping us and he went above and beyond to make sure we had all the formats we needed. He took pictures of our 4yo and 2yo, which can be a very challenging mission. The printer broke before the ink could even be used. I asked if I could return it and they said no. I tried to go find a new printer that would go with the ink and they don't make them anymore. This is an excellent Staples, located in Pacific Beach. It's right next to the newly relocated Trader Joe's. That being said, the lot parking gets rather full from all the traffic from TJ's, so finding parking can be a challenge. I came in and was greeted cheerily by all staff, while they asked if I needed any help finding anything in particular. I found the store neat, clean and tidy. It didn't take long for me to find the right items for my presentation, but with the eventual help from staff, they steered me in the direction of even better materials than what I'd found on my own. It was an easy check-out. There was a cashier already helping someone check out, and since it seemed they had questions and were going to take awhile, another cashier opened the next register so we didn't have to wait. When she asked if we were "Rewards" members and whether or not we wanted to sign up, I declined, since I don't really frequent the store that often. If you plan to shop at Staples frequently though, the Rewards Program would be well worth it. read more

The greeting from the cashiers was pleasant and opened the wings that led us finding us what we needed. I thought the inside was spacious which I loved because there was more in stock. There's even a clearance section in the back. There were gift cards up front at the registers. The same girl who greeted us when we came in checked us out. The shelves were stocked to the brim that made it hard for me to navigate through since the headers needed to be a little bit more informative on top. I love looking through pens hanging on the shelves. In middle school I loved using colored pens that all girls used to do while writing letters.
