Still a post office girl! I don't come here often, but on occasion, this is my go to location. Whenever I'm here I also check out their latest and greatest stamps. I love getting the gorgeous floral stamps or really cute animal series. A book of stamps is getting expensive tho, just over $15. This location is convenient and open late on Saturdays until 4 pm which is great! You don't have to rush to get here before noon or 2 pm if you need to get something done at the counter with a real person. They have a small parking lot. The PO Box hours are absolutely ridiculous. It's an old fashioned, tiny USPS. The staff is mostly courteous, and way better than most USPS offices. They are on serious island time, like every single other post office. There are almost ZERO bathroom options in this entire area, so plan accordingly. US Post Office - Outside - Post Offices Near Me - San Diego, California

I placed a USPS Hold Mail request for 2840 Main St, San Diego, CA 92113 and received a valid confirmation number. Despite this, the Logan Heights Post Office failed to honor the hold and delivered all my mail anyway -- including my personal identification, which is now missing. This is not just poor service. It is a violation of USPS procedures, including: USPS Domestic Mail Manual (DMM) 508.1.8 -- USPS is required to suspend delivery when a Hold Mail request is properly submitted. USPS Carrier Handbook M‑41, Section 131.3 -- Carriers must follow hold orders issued by the post office. USPS Customer Service SOP for Hold Mail -- Offices must verify and enforce holds and ensure mail is secured until pickup. None of these procedures were followed. When I arrived from Florida to retrieve my held mail, staff first claimed no hold existed. After I showed the confirmation number, they admitted the hold was found -- but the carrier delivered everything anyway. I returned the next day and was given the exact same explanation, word for word. The supervisor stated he was "as high as it goes" and refused to escalate the issue. He also said he could not send anyone to retrieve my mail, even though USPS caused the problem. This contradicts USPS policy requiring management to escalate unresolved mail‑loss incidents and initiate a Missing Mail search. Because of USPS negligence, my identification is now missing, exposing me to identity theft, fraud, and financial harm. I have already filed complaints with USPS Customer Service and will be escalating to the USPS Consumer Advocate and the USPS Office of Inspector General. We also plan to pursue litigation for negligence due to the failure to honor a confirmed mail hold and the refusal of the 92113 Postmaster to escalate or resolve the issue. Upper‑level USPS management needs to investigate this location immediately. read more

Super nice people and very cool architecture that looks like stuck in the 60s. I like when the old post offices remain old and active and do not adapt to modern times (at least architectonically). I am rarely in this neighborhood but needed to ship something for an eBay client and had the package for some days in my car and I just happened to be around. Very fast service, looks like it is not very busy office. As others have commented, the friendliness of the people in this office (especially the guy who looks like Pacific islander who helped me) was very welcoming. I liked the vibe. Note that the post office is not in the same parking lot as Bear Buns Bakery but just next door. I have never witnessed a more pleasant post office exchange. The clerk at the desk was so friendly. It was 8am on Tuesday and there was only one clerk out front but she had the biggest smile across her face. A mom came in with her son and she joked and asked if he was playing hooky. The little boy didn't even know what that meant. Mom said school starts late now and they were on their way. The clerk was happy to hear that and positively encouraged him to work hard and stay in school. It was a cute little exchange and brought in a little humanity that's so often missing in our daily interactions! When I got to her, I got the same joy, smiles and positivity! read more

The drivers they hire are not all there in the head. That or they just don't want to do their jobs. I had a package that said it was out for delivery from this office, then randomly the next day it's in their Coronado location being processed again. And again the next morning at this San Diego location saying out for delivery. Well sure enough that next morning it's back in Coronado "moving through the network". Nobody has a clue on the phones what is going on or how I can get help. It's pretty much just a loss at this point. But because they keep moving it around the company I ordered it from won't process me a refund since it technically hasn't been "delivered or undelivered". Please figure your shit out. For a post office this place is great!! Excellent customer service. I almost grabbed an express envelope to mail my package and a postal worker stopped and made sure that's what I wanted before I prepared it all. I came here to drop off two packages that already had paid shipping labels on them. There was no line and I asked the male worker for a receipt. He was locking the door and when he heard me he just completely ignored me and scoffed and didn't say a word. Apparently the post office was about to close but I did not know that since I had taken my time to prepare my packages. He could have told me that rather than behave in such a rude and disrespectful way. I decided to walk out without a receipt. This is not behavior that is professional or acceptable to receive from an adult. I do not recommend this post office and I recommend you go somewhere else. read more

I have a soft spot for this post office. I regularly buy things internationally and oftentimes the sellers will use EMS or registered mail. I prefer not to use EMS these days due to the pandemic, but sometimes I don't have a choice. Part of the reason I don't like using EMS and registered mail is because the customs procedure is slower and worse than other couriers like DHL or FedEx. Thanks to ISC/customs I've already lost one package and others I've had to wait several weeks. Ugh. Anyway, whenever I've had an issue with one of my international packages, the manager here has always been super nice and helpful. Also everyone who works here has always been nice, too! I am kinda sad I moved away from this area because I'm having an issue with another international package and I'll have to speak with a different post office. I love this post office and friendly staff. I think that they're incredibly diligent on getting things done - despite the couple packages that have been lost or delayed in the past, I still have faith and trust that they get things done. I always am happy to see my regular postman and think that they've been dealing with COVID-19 incredibly well, just need to figure out a better system so that there wouldn't be such a long line when people are waiting to drop off. On 10/31/23, at around 830am to 840am, the clerk (light complexion, large set with tattoos on their arms) was rude and unprofessional and made me drop off a package in the middle of the desk and did not ask me for ID or anything. I do not know if my package was safely scanned and put in for delivery. Can you please have a manager ensure my package is safe and secure. I stopped to buy a booklet of forever stamps and I had to go to the counter. Over a year ago during the Christmas holidays I went in with a bunch of gifts which I put into various boxes there to send. When I go to the post office to mail holiday gifts, I an super organized; I bring the gifts presorted in separate bags, with labels written out ahead of time as well as scissors, tape, and stuffing in case I need any of that. The woman at the desk asked me to take the tape that I brought with me and was in my purse out of my purse and tried to charge me for it. I asked her why she was asking me to show her something I brought with me. She accused me of taking the tape from there and lying about it, neither of which was true. i took the remainder of my Christmas gifts over the next few days to other post offices after that, and told them about what happened, as no other post office acts like that. it was upsetting to me. Fast forward to September 2023, yesterday I had to mail documents back to a law office I work with as well as a book I was sending to a friend of mine as a gift. Again, I prepared all the documents in a bin along with labels, tape, stuffing. Then when I arrived I packaged the two boxes of documents and taped them up and put on the labels, then put the gift into one of their gift envelopes. WhenI got to the counter, the same woman asked me to take the tape out of my purse so she could charge me for it. I told her that I brought the tape from home, and that no other post office does this. She said it was necessary , whatever that means. So if you want to be accused of being a thief and a liar, go to this post office! This post office has been here for eons and not much has changed. Very small but gets good amount of traffic that goes through. Staff is very friendly and efficient. Line goes pretty quick but can sometimes end up outside the building at busy hours. I tend to go mid-afternoon to avoid the long lines. read more

I've actually had great experiences here. I came once right around Christmas and I thought they closed later. They let me in and let me ship my package. My gifts made it home just in time for Christmas. They also helped me tape my box. I haven't had a rude employee interaction here. Everyone has been very friendly to me. I will admit this location could use a face lift. It is a bit out dated but I guess the same could be said about most government buildings. Having the stamp machine would be very beneficial especially when the lines are long and all you need is a stamp. I also try to avoid the near 5pm crowd. read more

However, I can't do anything but sing the praise of this place... though often times crowded, the employees do well to get through the line fairly quickly and always clarify answers to your questions. Generally speaking I try to avoid the post office at all costs. But there are times that a trip is unavoidable. This location could seriously use an upgrade. Inside and out it looks like it's frozen in the 70's. Since this place is close to work, I tend to stop by around 4pm. The line is never too crazy, the longest I've ever had to wait is about 15 minutes because people don't know what they are doing. I have found that the customer service varies from very friendly to ugh... not another customer. I usually go to the post office in Linda Vista (even with the long lines and HORRIBLE customer service) because it was convenient.
