This review is for the clerk that rang me up last week. I understand that your store can't tape up a box without someone buying an entire roll of tape. While that's a tedious policy, it's not a big deal overall. But there's a nice way to communicate that, and a very rude way, and it's unfortunate that you chose the latter during not one but two separate interactions. Maybe you don't feel that customer service is important in this job because it's a public service. But kindness costs you nothing, and your professional demeanor lacks both class and consideration. I had a really bad experience with the old Asian lady working there, she gave bad customer service and was really rude. She did the survey for me without asking me and put herself the green smiling face, when I asked her about it and why did she did that she just said she skipped that part which isn't true. read more

Jerome is a wonderful presence at this US Post Office. Each time I have been helped by him I am usually chuckling or learning something about his life. He is on the precipice of retirement which is worthy of praise and respect. As I have grown older I have learned how incredibly valuable the "old-timers" are. They know things that newer employees wouldn't have as part of their training. It is crucial, in my opinion, to have older employees around newer employees for the generation learning. Jerome has also been kind to my family members he's helped. I wish him well as he prepares to embark on retirement! May it be all that he's dreaming it to be and more! Side note - I enjoy this post office overall. Typically the wait is reasonable or little. The parking is on the side street or Adams. These days it seems and every increasing crunch to remove the joy of finding a parking spot as the red lines for emergencies increase, the parking signs of don't park here until, or loading zone or... I guess we all are being ordered to walk or bike! Of course in a culture of never ending rush here rush there - not sure how that will work out. Maybe some engineer will come up with a way to shrink a car to a backpack size and carry around instead of attempting to park. HA! read more

I can't believe it's 2020 and I still have to wait in line at a post office. Not that it should affect this rating, but, people: wear a mask and stay six feet (at least) away from me! Even if you're behind me in line! The employees here seem a cut about your average USPS worker. They are actually friendly and helpful. I can't believe I'm the Duke. If you can come during the week, do that. Check out their Google profile for the times when they are the least busy. Right when they open seems to be the best time. They also have a senior hour from 8 to 9 am (I'm sure that this is subject to change). I can't believe I just rated USPS. read more

I love this post office! Not only is it by my favorite coffee shop, but the people inside are so nice. Today there was a long line out front, and I was walking up with a prepaid box to ship. There was a worker loading his car and he offered to take the package. He scanned it right there so I didn't have to wait in line. He didn't have to do this--and I know there is a drop off box inside, but he went above and beyond to make my day a little easier. Our post office and delivery people have been working so hard during this pandemic! There extra efforts are noticed and appreciated! read more

This is a smaller post office so you generally will have to wait in line but don't fret it won't be for to long as they are fairly fast & courteous. Come prepared if you can & by prepared I mean either have the item ready to just drop off (packaged w/click n' ship) or labeled (to/from). It'll make your visit a lot easier If you are unfamiliar with using the post office their website is very user friendly. You can calculate an item by zip code, weight and package size. https://USPS.com Online you can order certain supplies for free, flat rate boxes & envelopes. They have a great selection of all flat rate boxes & envelopes. A few require tape (medium flat rate) which they also carry at $3.99 a pop If you have any questions or concerns ask them for help. That's there job and they'll be able to answer any questions that you have. They do not have extra pens, tape or scissors for you to use so just keep that in mind Also theirs one guy that works here that is pretty straight up over it and will be fairly short with you. No stars for the rude gentlemen. Thanks for being no help lol. I went in with my toddler and waited in line and wasn't helped for like 10 mins and this guy was just staring at me and then when he finally was going to help me with my return he told me I had to buy tape and tape up my Tiny package and then he could help me????? And with a loud tone, I've come in plenty of times and they just tape my returns with the packing slip. It wasn't even a box so I figured there would be no problem per usual. I fully understand it is not their responsibility to package up my returns and return them but it was really not that serious he just needed to put the packing slip and it would seal the entire package. Idk what his problem was but if you don't like where you work don't work there :) maybe some training on customer service would be good read more

I sent a customer a package and the postmaster told her for over a week that they had lost it within their facility and then it magically appeared. He had put his own HANDMADE label on it saying that she owed OVER $57 for a package that has a sub account. If you know anything about shipping with Usps is that if you ship from a website there's always a sub account. When the customer went to pick up the package he demanded that she paid in cash and was angry with her. He gave her a receipt with no information. I have already reported this postmaster to the regional personnel and will be filing an official complaint. read more

I know it's so goofy to write a review about the post office but I absolutely love these guys! No matter how busy or crowded this store is (and it can get insanely busy), they are friendly and funny, efficient, considerate, and so incredibly helpful. Although they're moving as quickly as humanly possible, they never rush the person they're working with and always take the time to explain all options with upfront costs. Special shout-out to Jerome and Jesse who are Absolute Legends and always help me with the most complicated packages/deliveries. I appreciate this office and their incredible hard work So Much! Rude customer service. I honestly wish I didn't have to use them but it's required for the item I'm mailing out. I'm actually shocked they are still in business. This is a prime example why people prefer to go to UPS or Fedex. He was rude from the beginning, not welcoming and just seemed as if he did not want to work there. I wish I looked at his name. Customer Service is everything, they need to train their people especially those with old bad habits. UPDATE: Changed from 1 star to 4 because of the great customer service I received from another employee named Sherry. She was kind from the beginning to being very accommodating. This is the Best post office I've encountered during the past 15 years. I've had a post box at this location for the majority of that time. Despite the federal leadership disorder, this location has risen above the every day lackluster especially during this pandemic. Every day I went in during this past Christmas holiday season, the lobby line extended way beyond into the secondary space, and yet our neighborhood postal staff were always pleasant, friendly and extremely helpful and knowledgeable with regard to every mailing issue. The gold standard of excellent service by a United States postal worker is definitely exemplary in Sherrie, who always has a smile on her face and kind, pleasant words for every single customer that is fortunate enough to reach her window. hip hip hooray to Sherrie. read more

I guess my experiences have always been relatively good compared to everyone else's. I usually try to get there in the morning or really early afternoon and it's not too bad. I bet the 3p-5p time frame IS bad, per a prior review, since everyone's getting off work trying to send off that package so it gets to Sally Smith on time. Yes, this is an older location, but I don't need modern or trendy decor, shoot.... I just need to send my packages and buy some stamps, ASAP. Pros: * Really friendly and helpful cashiers * They try to go as fast as they can * Convenient enough that I don't have to drive ALL the way to Mission Valley, and deal with the traffic off of that exit and the whole mall deal * As a special note, every time I go, I do usually get Eric. He is just super sweet--dealing with these sometimes less than competent and impatient patrons, you gotta give the guy some extra credit! Cons: * Smaller location = less personnel * DOCK that star for the lack of a stamp machine! RAWR for standing in line just for a page of stamps! Bahumbug, it's only the 21st century. * With all the funding getting reduced, it'd be hard to try to convince them to make the lobby bigger. People are always holding that second door open since the line is so long =( A little hard, when you're sending off a giant care package. read more

I just got out of the post office and had the need to automatically right a review about Jerome. He is the nicest most helpful post office guy I've met. I know nothing about delivering a package but he guided me every step of the way. Plus he made it fun, he's a funny guy. With him I feel assured my package is going to be secured and delivered right. I also like how he kindly reminds me that it's going to get there when it can so I know what to expect & not be frustrated with the post office. My husband is in the military so even if it was priority mail he had me emphasize that military takes care of it after and depends on them. Thank you Jerome and your 35 years of service! read more

Why this post office doesn't get all 5 stars is beyond me. I have lived in many parts of San Diego & north county & this is by far the friendliest & most efficient of all. One of the supervisors is frequently out with the customers greeting them & seeing how they can help. Every single clerk has been wonderful, efficient, kind & patient every single time I'm there. It may be a small po but it is nicer than many of the newer & larger branches. Keep up your great work! read more

It is easy to complain about the post office. It tends to draw in a less modern crowd....folks waiting in line for several minutes to simply buy stamps, only to spend far too much time debating on which stamp design they'd like to choose. Yes, I've been behind this clientele when in a rush on more than one occasion. But do remember, this is not the post office's fault! I work from home and have too many clothes that I sell on Ebay, therefore, I make it to this post office location on the regular. The same staff is always here, and I've found them all to be friendly, helpful, and courteous. They also notably do their job as quickly as their antiquated systems will let them. Living urban means parking is a nightmare almost everywhere. Another huge perk at this location is their parking lot, which always seems to miraculously have an open spot, no matter how busy they are inside. read more

Nobody likes going to the post office. I rarely need to anymore as they have online shipping labels, and I've been using that for years. But I recently needed a money order and had no choice but to go into the post office. In December! The line wasn't the quickest but the service was friendly, as the lady that helped me was nice enough to walk me through the transaction. I'll be back at this post office very soon. read more

Ugh. Just, ugh. I DREAD coming here. I'd rather make love to Star Jones or Rosie O before coming here to do any type of official mailing business. The place is slow as hell and the post office workers are about as useful as a fat man with a speech impediment. Aside from recommending you never come here at all, if you find yourself in the unfortunate situation where this branch is your only option, don't come between 3:00-5:00pm. The people who work at this post office have to put up with so much crap from crazy people. I have a PO box here and ship a billion packages a week and so I witness it all the time. (Hopefully I don't contribute to it!) Today, while I was dropping off some packages, a guy violently slammed the glass door and started screaming at the poor employees because he got a parking ticket -- from a meter maid, nothing to do with the post office. Clearly, he didn't know how parking or post offices work or how the two are generally unrelated. But the postal workers were so straight-faced and respectful to this guy who deserved neither. I can't even imagine how hard it is to deal with this many people -- especially crazy ones -- on a daily basis. Next time you're in here, cut the people working some slack and thank them for showing up and helping us run this tiny miracle: For 50c (or whatever Forever means today) you can send something from one corner of our country to the other. Pretty good deal, IMO, and a small wait in line + this fee seems like a small price to pay for such a luxury. read more

Wah wah wah wah ... would you like some cheese with that whine? 1. Who goes to any post office during the holiday season expecting for the lines to move quick? Pft. 2. Who goes to the post office in the afternoon, EVER, expecting for lines to go quick? The staff here is friendly. I tend to go later in the afternoon (3pm-4pm). The asian man and african-american lady who work there are my two favorite personnel from this site. They are both very helpful. My fiance lives overseas, so I have sent quite a few packages this year to him and his family. They both have helped me figure out which ways would be both the cheapest and most secure ways of sending my packages. I've never had an issue. And the comment about the supposed lack of english skills is probably the dumbest thing I've heard. No one here has had a problem understanding what I need, and trust me I AM needy...and ask a lot of questions. Depending on when you go there, the wait can actually be minimal. I just went here today at 4pm and did not have to wait longer than 2 minutes. Everyone is high maintenance apparently. read more

I don't want this to reflect poorly on your organization as a whole but I have to say something about the quality of one of your delivery personnel. I live in normal heights on the N side of Adams on 34th at. One of your delivery personnel is completely out of line and I believe his name is Julio and he's dismal. His lack of social skills and irritable attitude is taking a toll on my wife and I. My wife and I have both made attempts to build a report with Julio but he ignores us most of the time and when he does respond, he's short and impolite. Even if he had a modicum of social skills, we wouldn't know he is capable of using them because he speed walks with his headphones in and his eyes to the ground, refusing to acknowledge us as he barges through our property to reach our rear tenants. Julio filed a complaint against us once for having one of our 13lb dogs (a fluffy white poodle that regularly gets approached by strangers asking to pet her) run up to him to say hello. Neither of them have ever bit anyone and are the most even tempered dogs on the planet. Subsequent to his complaint, our mail was canceled from being delivered and my wife had to go out of her way to go to the post office to have it reinstated. Today, my wife called me in distress because Julio told her "Fuck you guys, I'm done," after she attempted to gain his attention to warn him that the dogs were not secured while she moved furniture out of the house. She and I are in agreement that we are not comfortable with this unprofessional, arrogant, angry little man delivering our mail on our property. There are several other USPS personnel that deliver mail to us and they are always at the very least cordial and respectful of our space. Needless to say, I will be filing a complaint against Julio. Even if he wasn't such an unpleasant character to interact with, any employee of a respectable organization should be prohibited from using profanities against their customers. Telling my wife, a stay at home mom with her husband on deployment, two dogs, and a 3 month old baby that needs constant attention, "Fuck you," is unacceptable and I will not stand for it. I hope this makes it to his supervisor and that corrective actions are made. Thank you for your time and consideration. read more
