I have a Nightingale CXO executive chair that is amazing, but after being in use for several years the pneumatic lift which locks the chair in place vertically no longer worked. And the left side arm rest no longer locked into place. Nightingale directed me to a local company who could help, and that is how I found Shore total Office. Dan and the rest of the staff I worked with were amazingly helpful! Very gracious! And took care of everything for me. They ordered and replaced the required parts for just a few dollars more than if I had ordered just the parts myself from the company. ** AND ** the icing on the cake. When they were working on the chair they noticed a crack on one of the legs that holds the caster. Since we didn't have any problems with the wheel in the past I figured we'd just be careful until it was time replace the base, but the staff there said they had a spare base that they would replace it with FOR FREE. I don't usually get excited about going to a store, but this place is special. I'm tired of cheap Ikea furniture, I can't stand average American ugly furniture, and can't afford the high-end stuff. Shore Office has an excellent approach: they buy up office furniture in bulk from companies who spend a lot on their furniture in the first place. This is almost always high-quality, sturdy, tasteful and comfortable. It's in the companies interest to do this. So used furniture of this kind has nothing to do with the hit-or-miss used stuff you get from smaller stores. Shore is enormous, quite, friendly. I guess they mostly ship their business. I worked in the office furniture and equipment business in the '80's and '90's for one of their competitors (A-1 office furn) for almost a decade. At that time the Shore family (Greg and Eldon) ran an auction liquidation house, I believe in the same building they are in now. It was well known in the local industry that they had inside lines on the best quality surplus furniture and machines from local and Los Angeles corporations as they grew, then shrank, and shedded their excess assets. Other retailers actually bought a lot of their used inventory at Shore's auctions, and I attended a few and Greg's knowledge of the variety of items he sold is amazing- he's a maniac, and in a good way. Seeing they have settled into the less hectic full time retail end of it is appealing- you can bet if you're looking for high end furniture or more utility but name brand items their inventory will be the first you want to see. These guys went above and beyond the call of duty! We were in the process of remodeling our home office for our small home-based business. I had been looking for a desk for months and there just wasn't anything I liked but when I went into their warehouse, they had so many options. I found EXACTLY what I wanted, a used desk with a return, made of real wood and not just laminate. It was too large for my office so they were able to cut it down for a reasonable charge. Also, they were able to hold our furniture at no extra charge for several weeks until after the painting was done and the carpet installed. They even delivered the furniture. Shore Office Furniture has a HUGE selection of used furniture (and also new office furniture if you cannot find something you like in the used section). I was met and assisted by Chris Sanchez who was took me around and helped me find everything I needed! I found a beautiful cherry wood desk for only $499 (which was at least $1,500 less than the new ones I had looked at!) and also a bookcase that matched as well as some chairs and a file cabinet! The furniture was all delivered yesterday and the delivery guys were great as far as moving the furniture to where I wanted it, even cleaning and polishing the desk and bookcase before they left. We needed a good solid armchair for use with a small exercise pedal device. None of the local office supply stores had much floor inventory for what is referred to as a "guest chair", so we could not be sure the chair would fulfill our needs. When I broadened my online search to include used office furniture, Shore Office Warehouse popped up. A website visit showed many different choices were available to try. When I called to confirm what the website displayed, the person I spoke with mentioned that not all of their inventory appears on the website. We visited the store and were helped right away by Tiffany. We quickly narrowed our choices and found a comfortable chair at a reasonable price. There were two of them and we decided to purchase both as occasional chairs for use in our living area. Loading dock personnel helped put the purchases in our car.
