This is my first stop. The furniture here is gorgeous, authentic and will last. It's hard not to buy more. Blake and Dan are great help.

Dan and Blake were fantastic to work with! We got a customized Z loveseat with black vinyl cushions from them after falling in love with the one on display in their store. Even though we were preparing to get ready for the move, they were able to meet our timeline (6 weeks roughly) and delivery went without a hitch. During the waiting period Dan was communicative throughout the process. Payments were completed online making the entire transaction super easy. While we did not buy other items in the store I found most of them reasonably priced. I wished they had a store in SF Bay Area.

These guys always have what we want at a great price. It's hard to walk into their store and not walk out with something fun and unique. Unlike other mid century stores their selection of items is amazing at great prices and they'll open to haggle with you if you buy several items :). All through out our home we have pieces from the shop. Thanks again D&B.

I'm a Baby Boomer with a penchant for anything related to the Mid-Century Era. I still remember a lot of the furniture I grew up with & how much I loved it for it's streamlined looks & sheer functionality. I also simply love antiques, particularly old bone china, such as Victorian dinnerware & chocolate tea pots, rare Depression Glass, Josef Originals, Coalport, Wade, Goebel, Haviland, Wedgwood, Lladro, & many others. I also have an EXTREME penchant for original & signed Jacques La Lande lithographs, and the list goes on. While you probably won't find this type of antiquity here, what you will find are Mid-Century treasures in great condition. We donated or gave away almost all our furniture when we recently moved back home to San Diego because we had every intention of furnishing our new home with new (old) furniture. And so.. Once we began looking at all the common furniture stores, we started to see a trend on what we were attracted to. It was the Mid-Century Modern furniture. Or, should I say I always was in love with Mid-Century, but my daughter was finding she loved it too. Excellent! We agree! Yelp is such a great tool in so many ways. And it was Yelp searches that helped us find "Mid Century" in the North Park neighborhood of San Diego. WOW!!! Mid Century will blow your mind! Not only do they have a ton of furniture, but they are quite particular about the condition of the furniture that they'll accept. The Mid-Century furniture is arranged neatly & proficiently. You can spend a couple hours in this store because there are so many Mid-Century treasures to see. A small sampling includes: * Lamps for every room * Dining Tables * Side Tables * Dining Chairs * Lounge Chairs * Writing Desks * Dressers * End Tables * Outdoor Chairs * Entertainment Pieces ..and so much more. New pieces are accepted daily. I like to go back every couple weeks and see what's new, and specifically, to see if there is a certain piece I'm looking for. A very well managed store, with friendly owners. Have fun on your hunt! *wink

What a great find! Came across this store while doing the 7 Bridges urban hike. Wonderful collection of vintage furniture with fair prices. I found the perfect wall clock for my condo. Helpful and friendly staff, and I'm delighted to support local craftspeople and artists.

I found this gem of a store, and they have some beautiful pieces! The staff/owner were so friendly and helpful, and they gave me a good deal on my newest beloved treasure.

Lots Of Decorative Lamps. The shades And Stands Are Gorgeous. This Was In The First Room.

This review is 3.5 stars. I brought them a lamp that belonged to my grandmother and is very special…read moreto me. I wanted the lamp re-wired and to be painted. This was done in just a few days but when I picked it up I was told that they didn't put the original pull switch back because the wiring came with a rotary switch near the plug. I was also told that he staggered the lights because it was safer for the glass globes. I told them the lamp was already staggered and this seemed like news to them. I took the lamp home but wasn't happy about not having the middle pull switch. I returned it to have them reattach it. The gentleman showed me a switch with a tiny little chain and told me that it was the original switch. I told him it wasn't because the original was longer and had a ball on the end. He produced another little chain with ball but it didn't look right. I left him to it and it was returned with what I believe is my original pull switch. However, after dropped it off the second time, I was concerned that the integrity of this lamp was being compromised. I called and shared my concerns with Celia. It was a tense conversation and I admit I wasn't pleased. The gentleman was terse with me when I picked it up the second time but I expected that. PROs: The price was reasonable. The paint job was good. They provided the extra screws I requested to hold the globes. They gave me a set of hanging hooks. CONs: He didn't seem to know what the lamp looked like when I first brought it in. Changed lamp by removing the pull switch without consulting me or asking if it was okay. Two of the sockets are askew so the bulbs don't sit centrally. Didn't know which switch was mine when I brought it back and had to provide them a picture. The lamp works and the paint job is great but I'm going to have a friend re-wire the hanging sockets to get the globes in their original staggered positions and to straighten out the sockets. I won't use J and C again but if you're very clear about what you want and document your electronics with photos before you give it to them, you'll probably be okay.

J&C Lighting was recommended to us by a family member. We have a 70 year old crystal chandelier…read morethat had fallen while my wife was cleaning it. It had been installed incorrectly by our previous contractor during a remodel. It was hanging just by the electrical cord. When the contractor came to remove it a piece of the crystal bobeche broke into many pieces. We took the entire chandelier to J&C for repair and refurbishing. Jorge disassembled the entire chandelier so that it could be rewired and cleaned. He did an amazing job! This is a lost art and Jorge has the expertise and patience to do it right. It was done in about 2 weeks, in time for Christmas. Thank you Celia and Jorge for being there when we needed your services. Anyone needing lamp, or chandelier repair should look first to J&C.

We chose our recliner in a few minutes. Approached a salesperson and easy salesperson for them. All…read moreseemed good. But, very quickly, too quickly, he rattled off delivery as drop outside, drop inside and then the third was full delivery of some kind. We have a 900sqft condo, the chair was going within 12ft of front door, so inside only was fine. EXCEPT, the guy DID NOT EXPLAIN the recliner would be IN A BOX & that delivery required 36" opening. When we had our first recliner delivered by a different company, it was wrapped, not boxed, and could fit on it's side through the door. BUT NOT A BOX!!!! Disappoint #1 in your service, he should have said it would be a box and did we have the capacity. Disappointment #2 - he also didn't explain WE WOULD HAVE TO ASSEMBLE THE RECLINER!!!!! We've had 3 recliners in the past and they all came as one piece!!! We werd shocked when we opened the box and we had to read the two CONFLICTING instructions (one in booklet that came with recliner & the one emailed to me). We are SENIORS!! If we wanted to assemble furniture, we would have gone to IKEA!!! The salesperson should have FULLY explained that there would be assembly and that would be included in delivery cost number three - - which we would have gladly paid). BUT NO!!! He just was flipping through pages on his tablet for us to sign and get his sale and be done before they used at 9pm. We approached him at 8:30pm to buy the recliner, not as about it, we were already a firm sale. The lack of customer service for the other side of the sale (when we'd take possession) gives me pause to recommend you to others. If we did, we'd have to be sure it was with the caveat to ask if their furniture would come assembled or not, and if they have the capacity for the delivery. We paid for delivery option #2, to be placed INSIDE the condo. It wasn't until I got the delivery notice that it gave all the parameters (or in the fine print in the store that was NEVER EXPLAINED by our salesperson). That was too late. So we could have had drop at door for cheaper since that's all they did. But we would have paid for & ordered the full set up if someone could have taken 2min to explain this to us as we are paying for our item & delivery. You dropped the ball on this one!!!! Bad POS customer service!!! So far recliner seems fine, but the experience was extremely lacking and could have gone badly with us doing the assembly.

The low rating on here is well deserved. Their delivery people seem to be the biggest hurdle to…read morethem getting repeat business. They show up whenever they wan and then leave within 10 minutes of their START delivery time. They didn't bother to deliver any part of our order and left while we were waiting for them to do their job. If you don't like delivering furniture, FIND ANOTHER JOB! Customer service was a joke dealing with this. We also believe that they are so crappy at this part so that they can add a delivery fee; it feels like a scam. Any value you get from furniture price is destroyed by the delivery experience. STAY AWAY.
