I love boutique stores but hate when they follow you around/pressure you to buy. A hello, asked if we need anything, and friendly service on the way out. Service 5/5. Simple yet effective. Select is adorable. Some expensive but they do have quite a few reasonably priced items. I originally went for a journal and really love the selection of everything they had. Fun artsy items. This shop has a wonderful collection of curated items and gifts to choose from. I love the variety and that there is something for every taste. I've shopped in their homegoods section and found a perfect housewarming gift for a dear friend. On my last visit, their collection of handkerchiefs/bandanas and their sunglasses caught my attention. I enjoy that they rotate their mechandise so there's always something new. This is a nice, local business to support. Not only do they have a great selection to peruse, but also have a great customer service. The lady working the register was polite and helpful. Such a great place for gift giving! This place is so cute, I love shopping local. I've been here a few times, they have gifts for toddlers and babies, home goods, paper goods, and gifts for the host! Really, nothing beats shopping local. It is pricier than a big box store, but truly a place with unique gifts. It's also a great place with San Diego local goods and for special San Diego souvenirs. Adorable store in South Park with anything you need for gifts of all kinds for any taste. I loved the candles. The glasses were very cute but extremely expensive. Pink colored pretty yes but for $42. It's a little bit too much in my opinion. There is a mix of kitchen apparel with cooking books as well as some clothes, children, apparel, postcards and many cute things. Jewelry wise was not that interesting for me. But the store is so big and has so many things and such a great smell when you get in. I think it's one of the nice spoutiques around. read more

It might be in the form of a bracelet, a suncatcher, steak knives, a candle, car air freshener, gift ribbon, a hair pin, a bowl, a tray, palo santo, lotion, hair clip, stickers, temporary tattoos, a book a journal. I'm telling you the magic is there you just have to find it. The shop with its rustic and cozy vibes immediately draws you in. Lots of bright and shiny colors. You turn the corner and muted subtle colors are all beautifully displayed on a table. The store is absolutely curated in/by themes. I always want to touch everything. I've learned to refrain from doing so unless I seriously intend to purchase. A true browser I suppose. Because the store is so beautiful and each item so perfectly curated, I like to do one round while taking a mental note of items I like. Once I've looked at everything I go back and pick up the items I want to purchase. Of course, if there is an item I know I want from the get-go, I hold on to it tightly and make sure not to lose it while shopping around. A great little gem in South Park! I stumbled into the shop as i was waiting for my haircut appointment across the hall. They have everything - jewelry, clothing, candles, cookbooks, skin care, bar cart supplies. You name it, I'm sure they have it. The shop is set up nicely and everything is on display in according areas of the store. I was in on a Saturday afternoon and there was a good sized crowd in there. There was one employee working. I came back after my haircut and got a gua-sha and a scent infuser stick pack (not really sure what they're called - sorry!). The scent is amazing! And I've been needing a new gua-sha since my last one broke. The girl working was so sweet and kind. Overall a great cute little shop. I'm sure I'll wander around after all my hair appointments from now on. read more

Stopped in during South Park Walkabout and can't believe I've never been in before, considering I live down the street! This shop is so cute! There's candles, cute home decor, unique gifts and they even sell the home furnishings that's displayed in the store. This store has so many cute things however, when I come in, I never feel welcomed. I've been here a handful of times and never once has the owner greeted me once. I've seen her greet everyone else. I have even purchased items every single visit. I introduced my sister to this store and we were ready to pay and no one acknowledged us at the front register. We saw a couple try to squeeze their way in between us and the owner even said hi to them. I think this store is really cute, but I won't be returning to this one ever. Have you ever fallen in love with a store? I have. I just finished having a late lunch with my family across the street and we decided to explore the area. The "garage" set up of the structure was intriguing and we wandered over to check it out. Even from the outside, Gold Leaf looked beautiful. What I mean by a store looking beautiful is that it looked inviting and welcoming. Not too bright inside, the smell in the air was alluring, and the selection of products were lovely. You can tell that every item picked out took a lot of thought and effort. Nothing out of place, and everything right where it should be. I've gotten overwhelmed with stores in the past but not this place. I could have easily spent an hour perusing the fragrances, room sprays, and all other home decor. It felt like home. Comfy. I made my selection and the young lady at the front was SO lovely. I got the vibe that she was the owner of the manager or something I think. She was so kind and gracious. She carefully wrapped my product and removed the price since it was a gift. I bought myself a room spray and diffuser that she had at the front. It smelled it so nice. She let me know that they also have an online shop which is perfect since I live about two hours away in Los Angeles. She did tell me that I could find these products near my home but I had such a positive experience here. I would love to support them directly and buy my items from here. Just thoughtful. Overall that's the word that comes to mind. Thoughtful. What a warm experience! If you're in the area, please stop by! You won't be disappointed. Lots of great finds for gifts, or a little something to treat yourself. I will definitely be back before my trip is over and I'll make sure to pop in whenever I'm in town to see what's new. Cute little store! I absolutely love this place! This place is next to the gym that is inside an old firestation and across from Cafe Madeline. They sella lot of different things from stationeries, household items, to toddler items. This place is definitely worth checking out. I bought a pillow here and even a couple of books. My girlfriends and I were having breakfast in South Park. We stumbled across this little gem of a shop while we were walking around the neighborhood. Gold Leaf has a nice selection of home decor, greeting cards, and fun little items that you won't find in a department store. It's a quaint little shop to tootle around in. My girlfriends and I each found something fun to purchase. They have this adorable journal, "99 things that bring me joy". I couldn't resist. The book gives you a prompt, and then you write about things you enjoy. They also have a nice selection of children's books. One in particular was about Rosa Parks. It told the story of how Rosa made history, but it made it easy for children to understand. There were other similar books in the shop. They have a sweet little children's section. A week later, I had to make a return on one of the items I purchased. Sonya was the employee who helped me with the return. She was very helpful and pleasant. I wanted to update my review as we recently purchased a couch from Gold Leaf. The process of buying furniture is daunting to me (and especially to my husband who seems to have retail anxiety), but sitting in the store with my husband talking to the owner and other customers, felt like being with friends. It was an extremely low pressure environment. This allowed us to take our time looking at swatches, relaxing on various seating, and getting a feel for what would really work in our home. We ended up selecting a mid-century modern couch in a very kid and pet friendly fabric. The team that delivered our couch was efficient and on time. My family loves our new couch!
