TJ Maxx has been a constant in my life for a long time. It's the best place to buy things like luggage, cookware, gift bags and Skincare. I especially like this location because they have an excellent selection of Korean skin care brands that I have already like to use. They also have a lot of seasonal items without being overwhelming like HomeGoods. Don't get me wrong. I love HomeGoods, but sometimes I go in there and my head just starts spinning. I've consistently found that TJ Maxx has the best prices on these items consistently. There's plenty of parking even though right now during the holidays it can get pretty busy. It's a really big store with tons of options for luggage and clothing. Typically this is a cleaner store, but I think it's messy recently because of all of the holiday shoppers. They do have a restroom which requires a code for entry. read more

I actually really like this location. I can visit all my favorite stores one after another, including HomeGoods, Sprouts, and Ulta. The parking lot can be a bit challenging, but it's still worth it for the selection, which includes clothing "Run way" the designer clothing, skincare, and homeware. They have a great variety of items at reasonable prices. The staff at this location has been helpful the few times I've visited, and there are usually enough people at the registers to keep the lines moving. read more

Seems like they had a good selection but make sure you'll watch the clock closely if you go here. They don't saying anything about closing time approaching, just suddenly declare "We're closed!" & expect you to drop everything immediately & run out the door. I was in the fitting room when I heard them on the intercom say they were closed. I made my way pretty quickly towards the front, was gonna put back my cart & stopped to also put back the purse I had in my cart & leave, but was harassed by a really rude employee telling me to leave, I'm like I just came from the back I'm literally doing exactly that, but I'll just leave the cart here & YOU can put it back then, since you're in such a hurry. As I walk off I hear her say "well it's two minutes past closing time". TWO MINUTES?!! Aww are you gonna be ok??!! I literally manage a store, I would absolutely fire my staff if they ever treated a customer like that. Security was also pretty unwelcoming on the walk in. Jewelry counter was awful waited over 20 minute to look at one ring. Left after 20 because I was tired of waiting. I was also waiting longer then the rude blonde women who skipped me in line and then wanted to look at 10 different necklaces and know the material of every item. Maybe the jewelry counter associate could help multiple customers at once instead of having someone wait 30 minutes to purchase one piece of jewelry. Security was very professional! You can tell that this is a toxic work space for staff and customers! Speaking English should be a rule when speaking in-front of customers! Staff and manager were speaking a different languages amongst each-other as I was getting checked out! Meanwhile the line was curving to the back !! After dropping my son and his girlfriend off at the airport, I headed home. Before gettingbto my destination, I drove by T.J. Maxx and decided to stop in. I ended up making a few purchases. Wanted to give a shout out to the 3 staff I had the pleasure of interacting with: - Jean (Dressing Room)-- I like her pleasant demeanor. Very helpful too! - Jerry (Cashier)-- he was fun to talk to. Had good sense of humor. He said, "I have some of those at home!" He was referring to the bras that I was buying. - Another cashier (with long hair, didn't get her name) who called Jerry to help her with customers. She was patient and nice. Marissa the manager simply drove us nuts because of the terrible customer service provided. My friend bought a set of pants and hoodie for $29.00 and for some reason the cashier did not add the pants to the shopping bag. But he paid the full price. In less than 24h we went back to the store to explain that the pants were missing. We even found the exact same set to show them that in fact the price paid was for 2 pieces (unfortunately they only had a bigger size). We found pants from the same brand for 12.99 and expected her to give us the pants but nope, she refused to do it so. The option given was: you return your hoodie, I resell it to you for $20 and you buy the pants for the full price. I asked if she could at least give a little discount for the pants and the answer was NO. She made me feel so embarrassed because it sounded like she did not believe in what I was saying! Well, we don't you check your camera to see if I stole the pants of the set? This is very upsetting. I am a customer that shops at this store every week. I know she could have a done something better for customer satisfaction. She refused to do it. We then returned the set, and now your store lost money! Got the "set" (only pants) back refunded the full price to my friend. Unbelievable! read more

From hair care, to luggage, to home decor, and of course their clothes...you cannot go wrong. And the SAVINGS is the best part. The blonde lady that works in the changing room area is the absolute sweetest. Cashiers have always been friendly as well. But an employee that was in the clothing section tonight was an absolute jerk and should not be working at a job that deals with customers. The store had just approached closing hours and my husband was already in line. Since the line was long I decided to browse instead of wait with him in line. As soon as I walked near her, this woman abruptly said "Ma'AM wE're CLoSeD". And it's not about what she said, it's the way she said it. She was so abrupt and her tone was so incredibly rude. I told her I know, my husband is in line already I was just browsing... And she did this sarcastic chuckle and said "yeah we're closed you need to go to the front". Like I said, it's not what she said...it was her facial expression, tone and delivery. She could've said the same thing in a normal & kind way. If you're so miserable and hate your job - find something that suits you better that doesn't deal with the public then. This interaction left me shocked and disgusted. Horrific customer service skills. I saw other yelpers mentioning a rude employee named Kim as well as the manager being rude and if this is all the same person as the one I had tonight....I hope she gets fired. I went to several TJ MAXX during my vacation to San Diego. This is the best one. The beauty department had many expensive brands but in affordable prices. The women department likewise, you can find many prestigious brands same as famous designer one. The store had a nice collection of purses and jewelries which I am fond of. You can also find affordable price of nice shoes. The kitchen department was full of great utensils and goodies. I wasn't planning to buy pillows or some decorative items but I could not resist this nice collection. The staff was very cooperative and nice. The store in general is organized and clean. read more

Covid-19 I just realized I'm one of the only yelpers still labeling my "Covid era" reviews considering how long this time period is lasting. Nobody thought it would go past a year and into a second one. Either way, TJ Maxx has held it together despite all the angry Point Loma yuppies doing the same thing at the same time at the same stores and then unanimously complaining about waiting. (Y'all should check in with your therapists instead of huffing and puffing with your masks sitting on your chins). Anywho! I enjoyed my sanity doing some "essential" shopping. Big brand makeup at low prices? Yes! Random home decor in aisles that are easier to navigate than Homegoods? Yes! Work outfits, sexy pjs, and the occasional night out purse? Yes! Gimme! Am I using my platinum TJ Maxx credit card? You betcha! TJ Maxx has been good to me during this pandemic and I will continue to socially distance myself and wear my mask the right way as I spend my precious first world time shopping my arse off with borrowed money. Not sure if I was lucky and visited this place when there was a recent re-stock of beauty items, but there were a lot at this particular TJ Maxx. A bunch of Bareminerals foundation shades available (usually I find just one or two different shades) and a crazy amount of Makeup Revolution stuff. A tad more variety/stuff in general compared to other TJ Maxx locations. I was about to get away with not buying anything but found an Essie blue/teal duochrome nail polish haha of course I find this when I'm on a duochrome nail polish kick. The manager named Chris just yelled at me over a pair of shoes. I had expressed that the shoes seemed worn, and the gal checking me out said she'd ask her manager to come over and see if they'd give a discount. The manager proceeded to yell at me and gaslight me saying the shoes weren't worn (they had black scuff marks on the bottom, and he even tried wiping them off). After I said the scuff marks shouldn't be there on a new pair of shoes, he proceeded to keep yelling and told me that if they're worn he just can't sell them to me. The poor woman working was so embarrassed that her boss would treat a customer so blatantly disrespectfully. I will go to another TJ next time - very poor management! read more

After my little stint at the Dollar Tree in this little shopping mall, I decided I go 3 doors down, as there was TJMaxx. I always enjoy looking at the watches they carry, as they are very reasonably priced and they have a great selection. Once in a great while, I have been lucky to find some awesome watches in the clearance area of the showcase and I have saved as much as 70% off of the retail price at times. They have great stuff here and it is little more high-end than Ross or Marshall. All of the TJ Maxx stores I have been to are very organized and they have a wide selection of brand name items. The household and kitchen products they carry were a big plus when I bought my house, as this was a place to come to buy things use at home. They also have a great return policy and the employees are super helpful. Although this review was a mixed bag, the five stars are for this location and especially for the super sweet lady who helped me at the jewelry section for the watches I bought. read more

I second this recent review about Kim who works regularly at this location. I have also avoided her register when I'm in line to make purchases. She once chastised me for buying online when I was there to make an online return. She criticized online purchases and stated very strongly that she would never make a purchase online. This location also yells loudly into the intercom near closing time and does the countdown "attention customers we are closing in ten minutes!!!!" They will count down all the way to the final minute yet there is a long line and even if you are in line they are counting down as if you were not paying any attention in the first place. read more

I purchased products, we can't try them in the store due to covid so I took them home, then bring some of them back to return. Some of them had medium tags and were large, some i didn't like later on. I never wore them or wash them, just removed the tags out of habit. All the items were also folded just as i bought them. I went to the store few days before, asked the clerks about the returns, and I was told that it could be returned without tags. It was Saturday, I didn't want to keep the line when everyone's shopping so I went there during the week around 11am. Store manager and the assistant manager were rude, they huffed and puffed to my face, store manager came twice to tell me to have the tags, then he kept on putting some items on the counter, later on he said he can't take them back without tags that the return policy was on their website. I've read their full return policy and the only things you cannot return without tags were underwear's and swim-wears, I attached the full return policy below. I told them that I've read the return policy and the items can be returned without the tags, then he said they smelled like detergent and they can't take them back because it smelled like detergent. Today, I opened a court case against them, you should do the same if you come across to similar situations. read more

I wish I could put a 0. There is a skinny blonde lady who has been at this location forever. I used to go into the store often since it was on the way home from work. They used to have a good selection but every time she rung me up she was complaining about work issues or other customers the entire time. Very unprofessional and not a friendly environment for shoppers. I moved and started going to a new location which I love (Eastlake) and the staff are always friendly and polite. I did an online return there and they were fast, efficient and made it look quite easy. I started coming back to the Point Loma location since they are now next to my acupuncturist. The last couple times the racks were nearly empty (even in the morning). I went to return a small online order and the same lady was talking horribly about the two sweet older ladies in front of me. I was in line with them and they definitely weren't the things she was accusing them of. You shouldn't be talking bad about random customers but then lying about it. Then she screams out she has a huge online order and told me to do my return online next time because they aren't supposed to be taking online returns anymore. I told her I wasn't aware of that option and apologized several times since she was shaming me the entire time. After I returned the 5 items I go to shop and was very interested in trying on some designer sunglasses. Couldn't find an employee to open the case. I hear the lady from the front of the store (very loudly) and she's talking bad about the cover up I ordered then told her 2 coworkers that I have a weird selection and that I'm out browsing the store. So they are all busy gossiping while I'm trying to spend money at their store. I really wanted the sunglasses and to possibly buy more items but I was so insulted that this is acceptable for Tj Maxx. I won't be returning to this location unless I'm returning online orders on the way to my appointments. It's a discount store so I know not to expect the best of service but this is too much. read more

Came here to buy just 1 mug for my sister that says "Best Sister Ever!", on December 8, 2018 23 people waiting in line to check out!!! Couldn't fit 23 in this photo. 5 cashiers open. Store appearance was very messy and full of clutter and things not in order, just thrown here and there, to me.
