Their clothing is not cheap, but their clothing will last longer in terms of use, the office pants from Express are expensive but they do not shrink that fast ( just don't overdo washing and machine dry as those will def. take their toll on any clothes, and the cuts / design are classic. I came here tonight after unsuccessfully purchasing what I needed at the two other stores 45 minutes prior. Not sure why all the negative reviews. All three ladies in the store today were extremely helpful, friendly, and kind. They helped me with an exchange for a completely different jean style than the one I had bought online and for the same discounted price. Super unimpressed by service at first we were totally being taken care of but as soon as the store didn't have the size or color we wanted it was as if we didn't exist. Being pushed to the side shuffled around. Waiting forever while the guy called other stores. We finally left and went to pick up the clothes that were on hold at fashion valley and they didn't have one of the items either even though the mission valley store told us the fashion valley store had 9!!! Walked into express to buy a nice outfit for a wedding. Unfortunately I have no fashion sense! So I looked around for about 5 minutes and then was introduced to Mark. Told Mark the truth: "hey buddy I know nothing about fashion and need some help". I love Express, but usually shop online because I have little children and it's easier to do so. Went to return items at this location and the boy that was helping me was rude and annoyed. I say boy because he definitely acted like a brat. He was a short Asian boy giving attitude while doing my returns because I had multiple returns. I am Asian as well. He was slow and definitely didn't even know what he was doing. He was annoyed he had to do the returns one at a time. Rude and rude and attitude. Makes me not want to shop Express anymore. I love this store! However, I was less than pleased with the "help" yesterday. I was trying to buy one of the black coats in the store but the one I wanted was on the mannequin. I asked if there were any more in the store or what size that one was. The lady radios to one of the guys and he says they are in the front. I go look, and there are no where... and no one helps me. I go back up to the counter and tell her and again no one helps me! I said I would buy the one of the mannequin if I could see it. Again, zero offer to help get the jacket so it can be purchased and it leaves the store.... so I finally say fine, I will look for it online. So mad! I have a trip tomorrow and I really wanted to buy that coat. Not sure what this disconnect was here, but I am pretty sure the stuff on the mannequins are also for sale. During Covid express wasn't letting you try on clothes I bought a dress for $88 I didn't notice it had a black tag and accidentally removed it I came back to exchange because it was too big they clearly told me I had 60 days to return the item when I asked for the manager kimmey was so rood and would not accommodate me I have spent so much money at express for them to not be helpful I couldnot believe it ! I am a manager and I know how imortant it is to help your customers no matter what the situation may be and kimmey clearly does not have this trait! Entered on the men's side. A male associate ( over 6 ft. Dark hair probably mid to late 20s) was near the entry with a folding table looked at me as I entered and choose to not acknowledge me. I needed a tie to match a dress shirt i had purchased for my husband at another Express. I passed another Male employee, found out later he was a manager of some sort, he literally walked passed me and ignored me as well. I looked throughout the store with no luck on the tie. I moved back to the center of the store to smell the colognes. At this point the Male associate folding at the front and the manager were about 20 feet from each other, I was bw them and they proceeded to discuss their annoyance over the holiday hours. This lead to them discussing what they did over the weekend. All while I am trying to figure out a xmas gift in which no one seemed to care. I moved on to the women's side. 2 people at the cash wrap. Walked by, made eye contact... would someone offer help at last? Nope. Ignored me. I left. At least there wasn't a pleasant "have a good night" as I left, that would have been infuriating lol read more

I recently returned to the store 1 day after a 50% flash event at the store. I purchased several hundred dollars in clothes and thought the discount wasn't correctly applied. I was met by a rude male associate who did not offer courteous or professional assistance. After reviewing the promotion on my phone, I realized I was wrong and left. The point of the matter is I experienced poor customer service and do not appreciate it, especially since I hold an Express card. I'm very unlikely to return and will probably cancel the card. There are many other stores with similar merchandise and better customer service. read more

Unreal... I received a 40% off coupon (from the Corp office) for any item in store (not select stores) or online, wasted an hour just have the manager refuse to honor the offer. He claimed it was a mistake and not a real offer but then said it would work online...hmmm The staff was great and very helpful but the manager was worthless. Went here for a quick shopping excursion, the store wasn't hard to find and the staff was helpful when we were looking for a certain pants size. They have most clothing items found online and instores but the size might not be available. Clothes are very expensive if you're buying it at regular price but it's better to wait for their sales or coupons. It's also good to sign up for their emails & text notifications for coupons. They're good for work clothes and going out, this is a definite stop when I go to the mall. read more

Most uncomfortable shopping experience I've ever had... Express has always been my favorite store for work clothes and I noticed they are starting to turn way too casual. I bought a pair of pants and a bralette. The cashier was obviously new (which is fine). He took over 15 minutes to check me out for two items!! He was asking very personal questions and asked for my ID twice because the first time he forgot to even look at it the first time? He was asking if my husband was handsome and where he was from. It was the most bizarre experience I've ever had. He also questioned me taking my husbands last name... I will NOT be going back to this location. It made me feel so uncomfortable.
