I must have been living under a rock all these years! This boutique (and it's new sister boutique, Chateau Bel Age) are simply amazing. The merchandise is fresh, fashion forward, and amazing. The selection is updated weekly, and there are always incredible finds. Jewelry and handbags are my kryptonite, and this boutique is particularly dangerous in that regard, as they have an amazing assortment of both, and most all of it is affordable. This is just a great place to come be "fashion-inspired", and be around some awesome people. Valerie is just an all around cool person, and has amazing energy. And as an added must see, her mom is an artist that creates incredible couture skeletons that you must, must see to really appreciate. They are absolute works of art, and I am happy to own one. It's a small funky boutique called Le Bel Age, smack dab in the middle of Mission Hills shopping district on West Lewis. I'm a fan for the simple reason that my wife loves this place. She always picks up some funky jewelry, and the place generally makes her happy. And you know what they say, right? Happy wife, happy life. Ok, so in short, they've got cool women's fashion, cool handbags (my wife picked up one of these too), and lots of fun and cool trinkets to buy. I've been shopping here for years because the clothing is so unique, fun and girly. Valerie has incredible designers that she carries from Europe as well as bargain finds. She's right now carrying jeans that are only $45. She's got great evening wear, jewelry, as well as fun jackets, sweaters, dresses and tops. I highly recommend this store. This store is RAD. Absolutely RAD. I passed by jogging, and was intrigued by the windows. Super cute LBDs, rhinestone and feather jewelry, large black bags with a rhinestone skull embellishment...magnificent. When I returned later to shop, I was not disappointed. Prices and styles for everyone. I purchased a black snake cuff bracelet with gold rhinetsones ($90), a stunning chain bib necklace ($35), black cardigan with black ruffles ($90), a L/S black sequin mini dress ($45), and a black feather hair clip ($25). I had to pass on several reasonably priced rings, a leopard dress they did not have in my size, $110 leggings, and a skull bag which I could not justify. The owner, Valerie, offered to ship several items as I was traveling and could not fit all my delightful new goods in my very limited bag space. Don't miss their store across the street with stationary and gifts. And they LOVE Halloween, so that is apparently one of the best times to visit. read more

We got an invitation to attend a Halloween in the Hills event in this little shopping area in Mission Hills and stopped in Le Bel Age to browse. The owner, Valerie, was there along with one other lady, and they were both super friendly and helpful. I didn't look at the clothes while there because I was too preoccupied with the jewelry! Lots of shiny baubles to peruse here! If I wasn't with my husband, I could have easily spent the better part of an hour going through everything here. Le Bel Age is beautiful. Every square inch is festooned with beautiful and unique clothing, scarves, hats and jewelry, all arranged in such a way that it feels more like digging through a treasure trove than shopping. I was there in November, shortly after Halloween, and the whole store was decorated in gorgeous Dia de los Muertos skeletons. The skeletons were long and elegant and each had a unique dress and matching hat, they were everywhere. The dressing room is huge, full of beautiful hats and headbands, dresses and scarves, perfect for playing dress-up in. The owner of the store was gracious and lovely, and, as I had to wait quite some time for the dressing room (I didn't blame the lady who was holding me up, it's great in there), she gave me a modest discount on my pretty new dress. Stopped by after reading yelp reviews as I was in mission hills and needed a quick b-day gift for a friend. What a wonderful place! Spent most of my time with at their paper store across the street. A lovely couple owns both shops. The owner even found 2 perfect cards for a delicate situation and then gave me one complimentary when I couldn't choose! This boutique is such a special place - they have a wonderful selection of designers (like cop copine) and styles. I always come here to find a special something and I always come away with something. My most recent purchase is a cop copine jumpsuit in tuxedo style (fabulous). I saw online that this store was having a sale so I came by after work. They have so many good items in their clearance section. When I was rung out, I barely spent fifty dollars it was so cheap. This review is so long overdue.. I went to this AMAZING boutique back in February when I was searching for a dress for Seabee Ball. The customer service was the best ever! I kinda of sort of knew what I was looking for but didn't know if they could help or where to start. So I called the boutique and told them what I was looking for and they pulled a variety of dresses for me to try on when I got there. While all the dresses were beautiful I didn't find "Thee Dress". So I looked around and cane across a BEAUTIFUL dress that was totally not the style I was originally going for... I tried it on, fell in love and had to have it. The material is great quality and well worth ever penny. They also have another store right across the street from this location with a crazy variety of dresses, tops, skirts, purses.. you name it they have something unique and pretty you WILL NOT find at a regular ol' department store. read more

You can literally spend hours here looking at everything that is in this tiny gem. Even the dressing room is full of fun! I have at least 100 bangle bracelets that I've collected from here over the years. I don't think I've yet to go in without buying at least one item. This quaint little boutique has an awesome selection of jewelry, handbags, scarves & clothing. The owner is especially nice & looks like she came right out of a fashion magazine! The sales associates are extremely attentive to their clientele and have a great Facebook page that posts announcements as well as new items in the store. The jewelry is amazing, it is all over the boutique & makes your eyes just go all over the place! There is layaway which is good because between two or three things it adds up. The clothing is extremely different - not the kind you can just get at Nordstrom Rack. There are brands that are expensive though although with the layaway- it eliminates some of the guilt! I happened to notice Le Bel Age when I was driving down Lewis St. the other weekend. I decided to stop by with my girlfriend since we love fashion and we are always looking for new places to check out. I was very impressed with their merchandise and thought almost everything inside looked cute. The inside was very clean and it had a personal touch. Their clothes are amazing. They had plenty of things that you would find in your local shopping mall, but all at much lower prices. All the items I looked at/tried on/bought seemed like they were made with good materials that would not fall apart or fade after being washed dozens of times. Everything I purchased fits wonderfully and I have received many compliments on the items I bought at Le Bel Age. I will be adding it to my monthly boutique runs! read more

I just stumbled on this boutique the other day - it truly is a buried treasure in Mission Hills, I could not believe how darling everything was and the prices were surprisingly reasonable. My daughter and I need dresses for an upcoming function and we're probably both going to find the perfect ones at Le Bel Age. I can't wait to take her there (even she will be forced to agree with her mom's taste).
