Most of the items are neutral colors and casual styles, befitting to the locale. Most of the items were about $60-80 each. Whether that's reasonable or not is a subjective question. To me, it's about the price of one hour of shrink talk to it's well worth it! ; ) Definitely a great place to check out for tourists as you won't find one of these in every mall. read more

I'm so upset right now... I bought some pants for my daughter-in-law. She has gained weight recently and so they won't fit her. I bought the pants November 7th. I went to take them back to get a refund or store credit. They told me since I DID NOT ask for a gift receipt I will not be able to return them OR GET STORE CREDIT. Their policy is: returns only within 7 days, with a gift receipt you have 30 days. As a customer service courtesy they should have told me about their policy, which is highly unusual for a small business. I was getting help buying for Christmas so the sales girl knew that I was buying gifts and never mentioned a gift receipt. So I'm stuck with a pair of pants that I bought for $64. That if I knew to ask for a gift receipt I would be getting store credit. Upset, customer ( They lost a good customer) read more

From jeans and dresses to flowing cardigans, jewelry, candles, and more, the Rare Bloom has so much to browse and offer. It's nicely laid out with plenty of space to navigate racks. The displays are wonderfully done and the items are fairly priced. The atmosphere is calming and inviting but most importantly, the merchandise is awesome. I found an and bought an array of clothing and the pieces will be headed back East in my suitcase. I recommend you have a nice lunch and venture over to this fun and well appointed boutique for shopping and browsing. One of those lovely boutiques that you only find at no less lovely places like the area called La Playa in Point Loma. I like small stores like this one and even more when they don't try to rip you off but just make a decent living. Prices were very affordable. Many pieces were made in Italy and you can touch by the tact the excellent quality. Pretty hats, scarves of all colors and unique outfits, for beach bums or party goers. My girlfriends and I were looking for some white dresses for a Diner in Blanc party and even though the lady who runs the place had wonderful outfits, we couldn't find our size or style. Still, we were able to try all we wanted, ask questions, and not being pressed at all to buy if we didn't find what we were looking for. Lots of pretty jewelry too. I've been coming to this cute boutique store for the last couple years for some adorable unique gifts. They have a variety of Voluspa candles- which are my go-to candles for freshing up mi casa. I love that this store has everything a girl could need in one spot. They have housewares, purses, clothing, jewelry, houseplants and cute handmade cards. I love coming here knowing I'm support a local owned business. During COVID times they have kept up to date with requiring patrons to wear mask and limiting the amount of people in store, which I really appreciate. read more

I just HAD to post this review--you see, this shop is truly a "rare bloom" among boutiques...and we have travelled the world over. Chic. Boho. Current and hip, but not faddish. Honestly, I would drive an hour from north county if only for the amazing soaps! But normally, I have my wife with me, and Lawdy Lawdy, we can't leave without a lot more than gourmet soaps! Beyond the selection and "vibe", I'd be remiss if I didn't mention the staff and ownership. We ALWAYS feel special--they're attentive without being in your personal "space". They're genuinely helpful and interested. I especially noticed how they are this way with every customer--women/men, diversity of cultures, etc. Not an ounce of bias or favoritism--if you are in their shop, prepare to be treated with respect and to leave with a smile on your face. I happened upon this cute little shop after the farmer's market one day. The owner was very welcoming and the store is full of great gift ideas and clothing. There are orchids and great succulent arrangements, as well as picture frames, handmade jewelry, luscious soaps, candles, quaint tea cups, stationery, hats, purses, scarves, and clothes. Rare Bloom is my all time favorite boutique for clothes shopping. I've been coming here for years and I continue to wear the unique outfits I've gotten 4+ years later. I usually online shop because I hate looking through mountains of clothes in person but it's so nice to have a physical place where only the best curated pieces are there for you and you'll come home with something you love. I am so disappointed. We live in OB and I have been wanting to visit this place, finally did this evening. I came with my husband and toddler, who was looked after the entire time and gave me some time to shop. The business owner, Sarah, was rude and never smiled once at us, even when we checked out. Inside they have fun jewelry, soaps, creams, cute small gift items but the clothes....oh boy were they great!! Odd the way that "Yelp" has it listed as a jewelry shop, its way more than that. I'll definitely make the drive to go there again. Sure hope it doesn't drift away like so many wonderful little shops have. The prices are reasonable as well.
