If you want collector items, they have rare finds like variegated hoyas and massive Thai Constellation monsteras, plus endless succulents. Later in the evening, they dimmed the lights and a live DJ started playing music. It turned into such a great Saturday night vibe. They also have an on-site cafe with cold bottled drinks, fresh coffee, and snacks. Parking was easy, the staff was super friendly, and the prices were fair. What makes it work is the plants, the DJ, and the overall cool factor. There's a booth right in the middle of the nursery with a disco ball over it and music going through the whole space, so you're wandering rows of tropicals with a set playing. Selva Coffee House is inside too. Espresso drinks are properly made, the house syrups are creative without being gimmicky, and they don't charge extra for oat or almond milk. Seating is tucked in among the plants, so you're drinking your coffee in what basically feels like tropical greenhouse.

We had 3 balls of clay (give or take a half pound each ball) to work with and you get one free piece firing included with the class, and additional pieces to fire are $10 each. It's pretty autonomous but if you need help the instructor is there to assist you. After you create your pieces, you pick a glaze and then clean up the work station. The wheel throwing class is either indoors (behind the plant shop) or in the back (half exposed garage). We were in the back and it was a good amount of space for our group of 4 people. There were more couples next to us as well. Also, I loved that they allow you to bring outside drinks to enjoy while creating, making it a fun and relaxed experience. Our instructor was great--attentive when needed but also gave space to explore at your own pace. This wasn't our friend time on the wheel, but we were with friends who were new to wheel-throwing, so he assisted when needed. I can't wait to see our finished ceramic pieces! Whether you're a plant lover, an aspiring ceramicist, or just looking for a unique experience, Botanica is definitely worth checking out.
