Garden coffee knocking it out of the park again! This place never disappoint, from the pastries to the drinks, it is always amazing. You can definitely taste the quality and the care they put into picking their menu items. The banana flavored coffee trend has been huge lately and I saw that garden coffee had added "Top Banana" to their menu. You know I had to try it and it was great. The banana flavor is concentrated into to the banana cold foam top, and it tastes like they blended milk with banana, it was so refreshing. It did not have an artificial flavor at all. I also wanted a decaf version of the top banana so instead of cold brew they made it into a latte form for me so I could have it decaf. The baristas are always the sweetest and so friendly. On top of all of that, the space is so cozy. It is located under a tree, so plenty of shade and the owner has many plants around (some for sale too!) and makes the space so green. This is a partially covered outdoor area, so definitely bring a jacket because it gets cold in the shade. There is plenty of seating and tables available, but it fills up as the day goes on. For people looking to study at a coffee shop, there are limited outlets here. They also have a small free library here and game to play. I love that this feels like a place where people can gather. My favorite little hidden coffee shop in San Diego. I love this place! It has all my favorite things: good coffee, plants, books, art, character, a homey feel, and even a tiny thrift shop next door. I have been wanting to come here for a while and I'm so glad I did. It is so cute. I've been going to Old Town for years and never noticed this place. The only thing I don't love is that you pick which mug you want and it's like I don't know give me the biggest one. As they are different sizes. So I do feel that they should have a standard size for the mugs. But other than that the place is great. I don't remember what drink I had as I went a few weeks ago but I remember I liked it it was a nice simple latte. My friend enjoyed hers as well. Parking was easy for us as we went on a weekday morning so there was a bunch of parking. If you were to go on a Saturday afternoon I imagine it would be very difficult to find parking. The prices seemed normal. My friend and I check out a different coffee shop or Cafe and this is one that I recommend. Check out my page if you want to see more recommendations. There are also some little shops like a thrift store and something else in the same little area. But all of Old Town is such a vibe. Super cute plate next to Old Town! Came here Saturday at noon and waited ~5 minutes in line and ~15 minute for my drink. They also have a selection of pastries and food items. The space is also a nursery, and they sell branded merch like hats/patches/tote bags. I noticed that for people that weren't taking their drinks to go, their drinks were served in unique mugs which I thought was so charming. I got the raspberry mocha which was the February flavor, and the coffee flavor was strong and balanced well with the sour raspberry and sweet chocolate. I really enjoyed my visit to this hidden coffee shop in Old Town. It's in a tiny little nook back behind a psychic and near the vintage thrift store. I like that it's open air and there are lots of plants, plus all of the mismatch furniture gives it extra charm. We got to pick out cute little mugs to enjoy our tasty coffee drinks while we were there. Kudos for the Christmas options and for being a little more sustainable! Very dirty mug I had no idea and drank most of my drink before turning my mug and catching a glimpse of the inside. It's NOT stained - I was able to wipe some of it out with my finger. It was actually worse than this before I touched it!!! I tried to discretely tell one of the employees, so that they would be aware that this particular mug needs more attention to detail when washing. I was trying to be nice about it, but what shocked me was that the employee didn't apologize at all and just pointed to the dirty dish bin and told me to place it in there!!! After that, I should have asked for a refund on my drink and been more vocal, but I was soo shocked at the reaction or non reaction I should say. It was clearly a build up of multiple drinks - not just one! It was truly disgusting! I really liked this place and the other employee working was very customer service oriented, but after seeing how they handled this incident, it was extremely disappointing and flat out gross. read more

There's something about this place that doesn't allow me to give it a 4 star. It's hard to pinpoint. Nothing about it was bad per se. It just wasn't memorable. It was a nice way to start my Sunday morning which included a walk with my dog but I might argue that it might be better to come here to do work during the week rather than to get caffeinated during the weekend. What they got going for them however is the fact that the menu is pretty intriguing. There's a handful of drink options that will peak your interest especially if you're like me and like to try different variations of coffee with different milks and combinations etc. They also have a decently sized pastry list but the Jalapeño Cheese Galette immediately caught my eye. Unfortunately.. It didn't live up to the hype. There was too many sesame seeds on it which masked the flavor and it could have used a bit more jalapeños taste. But I give them credit for having something different on the menu. I do like that we get to choose our own mugs for our hot drinks. That was a nice touch. I've been here 3x and it always has fairly good foot traffic. Meaning snagging a table might be tough. Not impossible since it feels like most people are here for about 20-30 minutes most. Be on the lookout after you order because it takes them a while to make it them (6-8 minutes) and usually by then, someone has gotten up from their table. When you order, stay close to the counter since there's no PA system to announce when your drink is ready and their serving space to place drinks ready to be picked up is pretty small. Last but not least, it's self bussing. So clean up after yourself so it's not a mess for the people behind you. read more

Loved this place! Was just stopping by for a post-flight treat. Coffee was so tasty. Not too hot and cute design on top. The flavor was not too sweet and the coffee balanced. Great for slow relaxing drink. There's also a big menu to try from and pastries if you want more than just a drink! You get to choose your mug for those hanging on the wall and can see they do a good job at sustainability. I had my morning coffee and the turkey jalapeño croissant a couple days ago. The latte was delicious, I opted in for the special one with the mushrooms sauce, as a coffee lover I wish I added an extra shot of espresso but overall loved it. The croissant was ok but it wasn't warmed all the way through so the inside turkey was very very cold, almost frozen I think. I ate the bread around it, which was ok! Service was fast and pleasant. Wow, what a cute hidden gem in the heart of Old Town! So much seating and it's all covered and surrounded by plants, you really are in a garden. I found it hilarious the names of the drinks. I couldn't really tell a difference with the graham crackers but that didn't detract from the chai either.
