I've found a variety of lovely, drought tolerant plants at Walter Anderson over the years. The selection is huge and sections are clearly marked. I can always take my time there with no crowds or sales pitches yet always find someone friendly to help when needed. Prices are also reasonable, though I do wish there was a discount area.

Welcome to decision fatigue....if you love plants. This place had it all, there were so many plants to choose from. I ended up in the tropical section and yet found myself swept over to the bonsai trees they had. And yes, I ended up buying both types of plants. The service was friendly and knowledgable. There were plenty of hands on site and I have to say those little wagons they give you are such a nice touch. This is like the Costco of plants. I will come back and shop when I have more $$$ to spend on plants but for now this will do. They have house plants, outdoor plants, garden specific plants, wall plants. I say if you want to start your garden off right come to the Walter Andersen Nursery.

Walter Anderson Nursery is a great for all your need on plants & gardens, trees of all kinds..large section in Flowers, and Roses and succulent My favorite place here the parking inside is small and hard to get in and out here. But the is outside parking that's easy on street. Today I had a gift card and I picking up a Japanese Maple..My favorite trees But very temperamental it's going a Large Pot..it's hard to keep in the ground. I love the varieties of their roses here absolutely beautifully blooming right now..their fragrants are heavenly and gorgeous colors It so relaxing here for me to walk around here. I could spend a few hours and not know it..Come see for yourself it's a great nursery and everyone is so helpful and knowledgeable and friendly too

Walter Anderson Nursery is very well tended to and clean. Store plants are healthy and service is great! The value is good. Pricey but the staff are knowledgeable and take good care of the plants. I had a lot of questions about Monstera indoor roots and found they gave good sound info on how to take care of my house plants

Not as good as their Poway location. This Walter Anderson is located in an industrial area that's not far from the seedy midway district. The parking lot it small in both number of spaces and parking space size. If you have a truck or suv it might be tough to park in their lot, let alone navigate through it. You can park on the side street but make sure you lock your car and hide your valuables. Selection is good and they should have the type of plants you're looking for. They're thin on succulents and cacti. Personally, I'd much rather go to the Poway location. - Not the most helpful when it comes to service. - More expensive here than at Poway which is weird because they're the same company. - Crazy busy here on weekends. So expect a long line at the cashier. It's the only nursery in the city of San Diego area.

I'm so glad I came here, both Richard and Kathleen was so nice and I can tell they hurt for me to. Kathleen said the person should of never told me to get that spray that made my plant look like this

Pride and joy of SD

Visiting SD we checked out food spots and plant spots. We got to sneak one in before we headed out. Here was our experience. EXPERIENCE: Parking: Plaza parking and some street parking. When we went is was pretty packed. About 20 slots were all full but we got lucky. Feels: It's in the outer area of Downtown San Diego but still relatively proximal to the action (probably look out for traffic). The spot itself is decent size and stuffed with produce. I dig the shopping mart music in the background. Plants: Succulents, house plants, to produce plants they got it all and all for a reasonable price. CUSTOMER SERVICE: Friendly and professional people. I appreciate it. OVERALL: 4 Stars. Great selections, reasonable prices, and steady vibes. This ain't a hidden gem so best of luck with parking. For your plant needs, this is a well-rounded spot from plants, pots, and soil. Tips: - Check out their website for deals!

Quite a crop!

I love their succulent selection. And their native plant selection is decent. Their rose offerings are great, too.

Garden coffee knocking it out of the park again! This place never disappoint, from the pastries to…read morethe drinks, it is always amazing. You can definitely taste the quality and the care they put into picking their menu items. The banana flavored coffee trend has been huge lately and I saw that garden coffee had added "Top Banana" to their menu. You know I had to try it and it was great. The banana flavor is concentrated into to the banana cold foam top, and it tastes like they blended milk with banana, it was so refreshing. It did not have an artificial flavor at all. I also wanted a decaf version of the top banana so instead of cold brew they made it into a latte form for me so I could have it decaf. The baristas are always the sweetest and so friendly. On top of all of that, the space is so cozy. It is located under a tree, so plenty of shade and the owner has many plants around (some for sale too!) and makes the space so green. This is a partially covered outdoor area, so definitely bring a jacket because it gets cold in the shade. There is plenty of seating and tables available, but it fills up as the day goes on. For people looking to study at a coffee shop, there are limited outlets here. They also have a small free library here and game to play. I love that this feels like a place where people can gather. Overall, I love this place, and everyone should check it out at least once!

It has all my favorite things: good coffee, plants, books, art, character, a homey feel, and even a tiny thrift shop next door. Tucked away in Old Town, this spot is absolutely worth a visit. Follow them on social media to catch the cool events and live music they host. There's plenty of seating, and the whole shop is outdoors with a cozy backyard‑patio vibe. The coffee is great, and I love trying their seasonal drinks. They have a little library I always appreciate, plus plants and cute merch for sale. Along with coffee, they serve tea and pastries.

NORTH PARK NURSERY @ NORTH PARK…read more Parking is available on the street for free, and there's also neighborhood parking across the street, which I definitely recommend. I came to this event for Sip & Swap, where you bring your own plant and swap it with others. I loved the idea and had never been to North Park Nursery before, so I was excited to visit for the first time. The space itself is huge, with plants everywhere, from the left side to the back to the right side. They also have stickers, cards, and all sorts of plant-related items. All the plants looked really healthy, and there's a wide variety to choose from. The event even had drinks, like an agave drink, which was free. The vibe was great, and there's outdoor seating where you can relax and admire the plants. Prices range from about $20 to $70, depending on the type and size of the plant. I especially loved the section in the back called "plants that need extra love." These plants are 50% off, perfect if you want to rejuvenate a slightly struggling plant, and they even come with a vase, so you can care for it on your own schedule. They also have pet-friendly plants, which is great if you have dogs, cats, or other animals at home. Overall, I really loved this place. If you're a plant person, I would definitely stop by if you're in the North Park area.
