    Bought from Cuffel Farms

Really loved my visit to Cuffel Farms this past weekend. I made an appointment online and was really grateful for how flexible and open Andy's schedule is to the public. I walked in and was blown away by the assortment, the incredible setup, the dedication, and just how there were hundreds and hundreds of each species of each airplant. In San Diego i usually purchase airplants in local nurseries or even boutiques, and at Cuffel Farms they truly cost a fraction of the price. There are the classic familiar ones that usually cost $5-7 costing $1 here. Then there are really exotic ones you've never seen before that go up from there. There are also regular plants in addition to just airplants and xerographicas etc. The place is organized and clean and so dreamy. Everyone gets healthy sun (or shade) based on their needs, Andy even went through the effort of hand writing labels / price tags for you to browse and collect, and the whole experience is very "self-serve". As I'm sure you can imagine Andy is super knowledgeable about plants, their care, and passionate about the peace they bring to us humans. I admitted i had killed a lot of airplants and only recently begun to understand them. He was kind enough to let me know that there's no way I could've killed more than he has. Great guy, super down to earth, and he will round down the price for you when you pay. Also reachable by text for any questions about your plant buddies after you bring them home. So nice to work with, i will be back again soon.

Went here for the first time with my mom and aunt and Andy was really awesome! He answered a lot of questions that we had about how to care for the plants we bought and even wrote new tags off each plant we bought. I am glad we booked the 1 hour appointment. We will definitely be back for more.

During this quarantine I finally have the time to write this well over due review! And if someone is looking for a new hobby or a beautiful gift to send to a friend or loved one this is where to shop. I met Andy through a air plant class he hosted at a brewery to raise money for a charity I cannot remember which one. My boyfriend and i had such a great time and fell in love with air plants. Andy was so helpful and knowledgeable about air plants. From knowing which plants would do better in a bright room to a less bright room. After being able to keep the air plants alive for a few months i contacted him about coming to his shop to purchase even more. He was so accommodating and even allowed me to bring my girl Lucy the dog along. I was blown away by the selection he had and the beautiful displays. If your looking to support local small business's Cuffel farms is the place.

SUPER cute place... very reasonably priced. Especially for the starter type learning about air plants, it won't feel like a huge investment. Best part, the owner is SO HELPFUL and KNOWLEDGEABLE! he's very willing to help you understand and learn how best to care for your new plant-lings. Definitely worth the visit. I hope this was helpful

Andy and Cuffel Farms are absolutely fantastic! He graciously agreed to help us create succulent favors for our wedding. They turned out more perfectly than I could have imagined from the pictures I sent him - perfectly painted white pots, colored rocks and individually selected succulents to match the colors and theme of our wedding. Our guests loved them and they are growing like crazy!! He also did a plant party of succulent boxes and air plants for a friend's Bachelorette party! It was so much fun and his knowledge about the plants and how to care for them resulted in my friends and I being able to keep our plants alive and thriving, despite our previous lack of green thumbs! Andy is an expert and a true artist and I cannot recommend him more highly for your plant needs!

Andy Cuffel is super friendly and knowledgeable about all of his plant babies. He let my friends and I roam around his nursery freely and gave us all the time in the world as he tended to some new plants. His selection is huge, succulents and air lands galore. When choosing succulents, he let us choose a few and said he would repot them all together in a pot of our choice. Even asked us what accent color of succulent to add! His prices are incredibly reasonable, I bought a nice sized succulent in a pot and an airplant with a geometric pot for $15. Unbelievable. I think the dove that made home in his backyard speaks volumes about his inviting nursery. Reserve an appointment now!

Just some of the beauties I picked up an Andy's nursery!!!

I first met Andy at a local nursery where he had a booth for his air plants. Prior to meeting him, I didn't really know what air plants were and avoided them due to my lack of knowledge and therefore, confidence in my ability to care for them. I also never purchased any due to the ridiculous prices that air plants are listed for at the trendy boutiques in San Diego. That was just a couple months ago. After numerous visits to Andy's charming nursery, I am now the proud plant parent of 20+ air plants and counting. Andy takes the time to get to know you, gauge your experience with plants and recommends plants that will do well in the specific environment in which you will be caring for them (home/office/etc). I previously thought I was a black thumb and avoided growing all types of plants. Now my house has a wide variety of indoor and tropical plants in addition to my air plant babies! Andy will give you the confidence to give plants a try while also making it fun! You can definitely tell that Andy does what he does because of his passion for plants and education. I have never felt pressured to purchase and I always am pleased with the quality of product I bring home. Andy has transformed his backyard into a thriving nursery, a space that is normally private and personal, in order to bring the joy of plants to others. His nursery is unique and he is super down to earth, which makes the daunting task of learning how to be a plant parent much more feasible! I am excited to see how Andy's farm grows and the avenues in which he will go! Thank you Andy for always encouraging me and teaching me how to be the best plant parent! My home is alive, happy and has a calming lush presence due to what you have given me through your farm! Keep it up!! I recommend stopping by whenever you have the chance, his nursery is not something you want to miss!!! Pricing: ranges from $0.50-20+ depending on size, age and species rarity (something for everyone and all levels of experience) Varieties: hundreds of air plants you won't find elsewhere at boutiques, succulent arrangements, indoor/outdoor plants, tropicals, staghorn ferns and more! Andy also is talented in woodworking and makes his own displays and has great ideas to share with you on how to best show off your plant babies :)

    Airplants, airplants and more airplants.

This is the place to visit in San Diego if you want to buy airplants. Andy is very knowledgeable and a great person to run ideas by for your next terrarium project. You'll need to make an appointment to visit but you'll get the whole place to yourself. There are so many types of airplants to choose from. Prices are very affordable and I definitely will be back for another visit!

Love Cuffel Farms! Great selection of adorable air plants - I wanted all of the plants! Can I say I'm obsessed with air plants - they are so fun! The owner is super nice, extremely knowledgeable and super patient explaining how to care for the plants! While shopping he has some calming zen music - an added bonus I've brought a friend today and for sure will be back (okay today was my third time shopping the past couple of weeks!) lol!

I came by with the intention to only pick up some air plants, but left with so much more! Andy is fantastic and worked around my ridiculous schedule. I was finally able to stop by and it was probably one of the best experiences I've had. I gained so much more than just some air plants, which were by the way so beautiful and in such wonderful condition. You could tell his plants were extremely happy and well cared for!!! He has such a large variety to choose from, which was a lot more than I have ever seen within one nursery. In addition to my visit, because yes, I did gain more than just air plants, I most importantly gained so much more knowledge on how to properly care for them. I was very delighted as to what I learned. Andy also gave me a flier and a print out of some information about how to care for these plants and the different species. Luckily enough I was able to pick his brain a bit before leaving, which in return probably saved me countless hours of maybe googling every question I had or even getting lost and falling down the YouTube hole to find myself hours later watching something probably irrelevant, but more than likely still plant related. Lol Aside from that if you want beautiful, healthy, and again beeauutifull plants, then I would highly recommend Cuffel Farms. The bonus is having a great resource like Andy to help you with your questions and to educate you on these wonderful plants.

We called while we were on our way and the lady that owns the place said her son could let us in and show us around. He was very friendly. For anyone that loves fruit, fruit trees and/or tropical fruit - the place is super cool and they have a good variety of fruit trees to choose from. I noticed that there were a lot of tiny seedlings of various kinds that looked to be started from seed. They had one hawaiian/strawberry papaya tree left and it was pretty big. I was so excited. I inquired about it and the son called his mom to find out the price and confirm that it was a strawberry papaya since it was the last one of that variety. We spent $140 on our new big papaya tree with flowers that smelled heavenly. I babied it, watered regularly, fed accordingly. It flourished and put on a lot of new growth but I noticed a few weeks later that every flower it put out never formed fruit. I researched about papaya flowers and realized that we were sold a male papaya tree. It has only male flowers and will Never bear fruit...I felt and still feel scammed. I found out that when you grow papaya plants from seed - you will only find out if it's female, male or hermaphrodite (both male & female) by its flowers so you have to wait until it's mature enough to flower. With these people being quite knowledgeable about fruit trees and having hundreds - maybe even a thousand fruit trees on their property- I would think they knew it was a male tree. Reputable nurseries sell hermaphroditic varieties so that you don't need separate plants to pollinate and produce fruit. I think at the very least they should have informed us that it was a male tree that doesn't fruit. So we paid $140 for a male papaya tree that will never bear fruit. My husband paid the son directly by venmo. After we found out it was a male tree, my husband contacted the son to explain what happened and asked if we could bring the tree back for a refund and we never got a response. Was so shocked that a small family business would do this especially when he was so friendly in person. I saw so many trees with fruit so I'm not saying that I think they've done this before - but it happened to us and even if it's a one time occurrence...it really sucks. It's been about a year and 8 months since - I waited so long to leave a review because I was hoping her son would eventually contact us back. After that I was upset and didn't want to think about it much. But I am still so disappointed to have wasted our money like this on a tree that will never bear fruit.
