Pigment at Liberty Station is honestly one of my favorite places to shop when I need the perfect gift, especially when I am putting together care packages. I am originally from Tennessee, and I love sending little goodie boxes back home to my family, and this has become my go to spot for finding unique, thoughtful items that travel well. What I love most is how incredibly curated everything feels. The store is beautifully color coded, which not only makes it easy to browse but also makes the whole space feel super aesthetic and inspiring. You can walk in without a plan and still leave with a perfectly themed set of gifts. It is especially great for stocking stuffers since there are so many small, fun, and high quality items that feel personal without being over the top. Every time I visit, I end up discovering something new, whether it is cute stationery, candles, or little trinkets that are perfect for gifting. It really takes the stress out of putting together something special for loved ones. The only thing I would love to see more of is Jellycat plush selection. What a great place! If you're into plants and pottery, this is the spot to go. What a variety of truly unique and cute stuff! And a great selection of all kinds of plants and succulents. Some really cool items here, so be sure to take your time and look. If I lived locally, I would have had a shopping bag full of things when I walked out. The supplies were basic, the class was only about an hour instead of the advertised two, and guidance was minimal. As a beginner, I expected more instruction on technique and flower care, but we mostly just followed directions. This place is truly delightful! I'm glad I came with my husband or I woulda walked out with a CVS sized receipt! Their plants are healthy and well cared for. I don't believe that your house plants should be dangerous and spiky, but I fell in love with the PINK hedgehog cactus they had on display. They have these for an awesome price too! You can go in and make your own succulent arrangement in the back. That is so much fun, and the ladies that were working there were so helpful and nice. Some fun gifts there too, such as tableware, kid and adult clothing, and of course their awesome planters. Parking can be challenging depending on the day, but worth it!!! I started going to Pigment years ago when the first store opened up in North Park. At the time, a trip to Pigment for me was like a kid in a candy store...I wanted everything! Now, I periodically go to the store in Liberty Station, as the location is very convenient for me. It still get a bit of that kid in a candy store type of feeling. It has expanded, and has an area with plants as well. Typically, I go there for gift shopping, but recently found some wonderful, overpriced items for my dog that I absolutely did not need... but had to have. I like the style of the store and lots of the items are novelties. They have really cute jewelry, cards and nice candles. They also have random things like slippers, stuffed animals and fancy candy. Really, it is a perfect place to find a birthday present for a BFF. Recently, I bought a baseball cap for my dog (yes you read that right) and it was a size too small. I went to exchange it, but they didn't have the right size. They checked their other store and were able to transfer it to the Liberty Station location for me by the next day. Most places would have just told me to go to the other location... as it wasn't even very far, but I didn't want to deal with the parking during the busy holiday season. All in all, it is a bit overpriced, but I love Pigment. read more

Do not go into this store if you have children with you. There should be a separate section for adult content or a warning sign at the very least. It doesn't seem like it but there are sexually explicit and vulgar items sold here. My kids had to see candles with labels like "Big Dick Energy" and "I Love Your Penis" cleverly displayed with child friendly graphics and color coordinated houseware and office supplies within several feet from the children's section. What enraged me the most is the ostentatious display of the "I love your penis" candle at the checkout counter. You wouldn't think these kinds of items are sold here because Liberty Station is known to be a family friendly environment. -Be warned. read more

There is a nice selection of live plants, including succulent arrangements, and pots/ terrariums. Parking is available on the street or in lots for the Liberty Station Public Market. Liberty Station has a very relaxed vibe with a couple cute shops, restaurants, and food vendors. My nephew and I bought matching plants, the Chinese Money Plant aka Pilea Peperomioides. Aesthetically fits well with any decor. Easy care with once a week watering and bright indirect sunlight. This store and all their locations appeal to the plant lover and anyone who likes beautiful aesthetics. The space and the plants just lifts ones mood. The building has high ceilings, ample room and giving the plants the center stage in every room. It's great how they have the color theme coordinated making it for consumers easy to make a choice. There is also a class you can put together your succulents. Warning: come here with a list of what you need or else you will walk away with unnecessary items. It's eye candy everywhere. If I don't know what I want, I roam the aisles, take Pics of the plants I want and research the species and either order online or return back to the store. I am without a doubt a crazy plant lady that has more succulents than pairs of shoes and love finding ideas for new ways to arrange, hang, plant, and decorate any way, any how with indoor plant babies, cacti and succulents. This place was a slice of heaven from a visual perspective but absolutely unrealistic from a financial point of view. They had anything and everything indoor plant related including air plant varieties I hadn't even heard of, plant food, macramé hangers, and so much more. I walked through the shop jaw to the floor getting so many ideas and taking more pictures than my Snapchat friends ever wanted to see. This location is outstanding and has a lot to offer. It's a nice walk through that also offers an outside patio area with great idea. Everything is so very well organized. I was just browsing when I ran into some great looking coffee mugs, perfect for Teacher Appreciation Week! The beautifully designed were a finished glossy white with a gold handle and gold lettering that read "Teacher Fuel." At $16 a piece, I asked if they offered a bulk rate for 20 plus mugs. Here on a busy weekend afternoon... I browse nervously at the trendy, hipster, organic, (expensive) products.. hoping to find items within my price range... I sigh with relief as my kids gravitate towards cool stones priced $2.50/each. Cool! Pick 3 each kids! I'm pen obsessed and settle for a pack of pastel pens for $15... With that said, I love these kind of shops... all pretty, filled with random things that usually add clutter to your home and/or personal space.. I like looking at pretty things.. there's several different rooms, very open-aired and breezy. So San Diego. A perfect place to find a gift or souvenir. The front of the store, facing the market, is mostly plants, succulents, dirt, colored sand, various pots.. I wasn't quite sure what to make of it. Location: Really cute little store inside Liberty Station marketplace next to the Mexican restaurant. It was a bit hard to find if you aren't looking or aware of the area well. It's a little tucked away -behind- the restaurant. There aren't any signs or anything to direct you to this shop. Parking: Limited nearby. It looks like the back of the store is a road and the front of the store has a few spaces, but if it's really packed, then it might be hard to find a decent parking spot. I loved the vibe and atmosphere of this shop.. it was like an Urban Outfitters Hipster Style meets a gorgeous gardenhouse. Home decor, gifts, greeting cards, and cute succulent plants are some of what you'll find here, as well as some clothing. A couple of years ago I bought the comfiest sweat shirt here that I still love to lounge about in. During our last visit, there were only a few customers allowed in the store at a time due to COVID-19 restrictions so you may have to wait a bit outside if it's busy. I love Pigment and had been wanting to check out their location in Liberty Station. The staff is uber friendly, as soon as you walk in you're greeted, I love how open the store is and how inviting the decor and displays are. After breakfast my friend and I came here to shop and look for gifts. I ended up getting a bridal shower card that said "F***ing Finally," super cute and a little crystal for myself. There are such good finds at this store, I need to come back for the green sunglasses and the Virgo crystals, whenever they have that in store. The cashier who helped me, took me throughout the store to find it but maybe it'll be back closer to the season. I've been to a few Pigment locations in San Diego and I'd say this location is consistent with the others I've been to: aesthetically pleasing to the eye & lots of options other than plants! Although I think they specialize in house plants and succulents, they also have a lot of other items for sale like pots, clothes, bags, and other accessories. Each location has its own color theme and vibe that makes each place feel vibrant. Whenever I'm at Liberty Station, I try to stop by here even to just window shop. COVID: All staff wear their masks. I haven't been here during a busy time and cannot attest if they limit the number of people in the store. I hosted a small baby shower for a friend at Pigment Liberty Station last month and was beyond impressed with the quality of service Bri and her team provided. She was incredibly communicative and professional, sending me mock ups of the event space, responding to emails quickly, and chatting through the event logistics and design every step of the way. She was there the day of to help us set up and stayed the whole time, grabbing us little things we needed throughout the event. Its got tons of plants, which I love, probably more of a selection in terms of amount of plants, not necessarily the types of plants. More kid stuff. Just more "stuff" in general. Located on the end of Liberty Station with the Public Market. It's open and airy, and I literally cannot come here without buying something. FINALLY! IT HAS COME! This is the place, where hipster-magic-central meets Point Loma. Welcome, to Pigment and all the unicorns you can dream of. This store is much more open as opposed to the other location which I noticed to have a lot more trinkets versus this location that seemingly has a higher emphasis on plants. As a Harry Potter enthusiast myself, I wouldn't be surprised if one would eventually find a mandrake or even a bowl of gillyweed lying around this place. Theme wise, Pigment just falls perfectly into place amongst the hugely diverse community of storefronts here in Liberty Station. I had a lot of fun looking through the wall of card puns! Those things are always so fun to gaze over! We spent some time eating over at the Public Market and decided to walk around the various shops and enjoy the beautiful weather of San Diego (which is literally never a bad idea in this area). Taking note of the white and green umbrellas and seating outside, this flows well with the rest of the store and gave me some ideas for where to sit down and enjoy my nice cup of West Bean coffee. There are several swinging seats one can enjoy as well as around the rest of the shop. The clothes they have here are on the pricier side but are adorable and unique. The employees were very kind and it was closer to closing so they were still helping bring some supplies in but were still showing they were there to help out and just brought a wonderful vibe to the place. Another thing to note that I admonish all first-timers to come and try out is the plant lab and succulent bar! What I've always found awesome about this is that it's inviting to the community, promoting positivity, growth, and self-reflection on ourselves and our impact on the world. Unless you just want to plant a plant. Then by all means my friends, do it! At least to me, Pigment is therapeutic for the soul. Full of instagrammable spots, Pigment is everything you could expect of a hipster-inspired store front and holds so many surprises still!
