This was my second time in San Diego, and my second time checking out this store. I love it so much! It is quaint, but stocked with so many great things! They have a terrific paper selection, plus pens, wax and wax seals, Rifle products, watercolor paper and paint, and so much more. The staff has always been helpful and friendly. I'm all about supporting local businesses and this is a gorgeous little store, beautifully curated that you can spend hours just browsing around, shop, enjoy and admire every little item. I walked into the store in hope of buying birthday presents for my female staff, as I was browsing every corner I got to the stuff on the back of one of tables, a young female staff approached in an awkward way from the other side with a disturbing load tone "can I help you with something", i was like, what?!!! Perhaps she assumed I intended to steal something from them which is very sad and frankly pathetic. Considering at that point, I hadn't even touched ANYTHING yet! When you have such a store packed with tiny cute items you should expect people browsing around and admiring what you have, instead by harassing them and trying to make them uncomfortable you are just going to go out of business very fast. I ended up walking out of that store in less than two minutes not buying anything. read more

This is one of my favorite stores to come to when in Coronado. It's not just a paper store, they sell great gifts. During Christmas they have thoughtful gifts and great ornaments and they gift wrap- for free! They sell two of my favorite brands- Rifle paper company and Voluspa scent diffusers (and candles but the diffusers are better!). It's fun to wander here but if you are looking for a small gift, this is where you want to be, beyond Christmas! If you want stationary that is unique, then this is definitely the place. Great merchandizing and the window displays are always creative and fun. It's a bit pricey but you can find small gifts at a reasonable price. You definitely get value- at any price point here. Staff is helpful, not the most friendly, but always helpful when you have questions. I love this store and stop by every time I'm on the island. Highly recommend! read more

Seaside Papery (established in 2004) is a super cute stationery boutique located on the busiest part of Orange Avenue in Coronado Island. [Parking]: Parking can be pretty difficult in this part of Orange Avenue, but you may find free street parking nearby if you are lucky. [Items]: They sell specialty gift wrap, party accessories, writing accoutrements, and stationary. They also offer personal consultations on boutique wedding stationery by appointment. I came here to find a wedding card and nothing stood out as super unique, but the selection had a broad and mass appeal. I ultimately got a card for $6.50 and a dark grey pen from LePen for $2.50. [Conclusion]: A nice shop to check out after a meal at the next door neighbor Little Frenchie. I wouldn't recommend anyone driving out of the way just to get a greeting card here, but it is certainly worth a stop if you are nearby. Stopped at this shop after enjoying lunch next door and I must say it's hard to resist! Although it may look small from outside, it has an ample selection of stationary supplies, gifts, and much more. Will definately plan to come back, as many of the items would make great gifts for friends and family. Staff is nice and polite, they check in on their customers and ask if they are looking for something in particular. Value - I would say it's comparable to other stationary stores, probably more affordable than pigment. While visiting the Coronado, we passed this place and Hubby said, "You know you want to go in..." He knows me well. We did. Beautiful shop full of stationery and gifts! Definitely my scene. A great selection of cards, writing and lettering utensils, wrapping paper, little trinkets, books, and postcards. Hubby let me choose some goodies and I went with a white LAMY ball point pen, an extra ink refill for it, and some San Diego stickers. Everyone working was friendly, greeted us as we arrived and left, and were efficient when we paid. I definitely recommend when you're in the Coronado tourist area. Such a cute and colorful shop! I stopped by here with my sister when we were exploring the area and it was cute. The shop is really small so there isn't much spare space so there can't be too many people in here but when we went it was pretty empty of people so it wasn't a problem for us. The shop is packed full of different goods and you can find anything you might want for yourself or as a gift for someone. I loved taking my time looking at everything. It is Coronado so obviously it is a but expensive and there is no private parking. Overall, super cute gift shop to stop in to grab something. read more

This place has absolutely beautiful things. The reason for the lower star review is that a fair share of items for sale are straight from Paper Source -- and at a nice markup from their retail prices. But, this is a tourist spot so many folks may not have a PS near them, nor know they are getting ripped off. Moderately friendly staff. Definitely a great addition to Orange St. and the quirky shops on the island. The front display (and my pic) are of these beautiful butterfly garlands. I'm not sure where I would ever put one, maybe a girl's room? But definitely worth a look just for those. UPDATE! I stopped in while strolling around in Coronado last weekend. Some gift shops aren't worth a visit but this one is tres chic! I lusted after their selection of cacti pillows with tassels as well as their charming San Diego prints. I found the best smelling sunscreen, as well as very good earrings. I think this shop will help you find great California souveniers or gifts if you are a tourist, or just giftworthy items if you are a local. It's one of the best kept secrets in Coronado. They keep changing things up all the time and always have unique items that I haven't been able to find elsewhere. The gift wrapping services are the best hands down. It's a small store, and can get busy. I read some of the other reviews regarding customer service. The worst customer service I have ever seen. We walked in and two girls (employees) were there talking and singing and didn't even acknowledge us. There was literally no one in the store other than myself and my mom and these two girls. One of which was talking so loudly about how her dad wanted her to move in with her mom etc...I say this only to set the scene on literally how rude these two girls were. We proceed to look around and even walk right by them looking at merchandise and not one time did they acknowledge our presence in the store, ask us if we needed any help or had any questions. Nothing. They continued to sing and talk to each other. I hope the owner reads this. Whomever you had working on Thursday January 27th at around 2:30/3 pm desperately needs some training on customer service and simple common courtesy. read more

I came in looking for stationary, cute paper with cute envelopes, however most of the stationary packs did not have cute matching envelopes. I purchased some very cute cat themed notecards and a large "mapnote" of California to send off. Although I was not looking for wrapping paper, they have such a beautiful selection and I will be back for gift wrapping. The only downside about this spot was the sales clerk was not very friendly or welcoming. I was hoping she would ask if I needed help, which I did because the various stationary was spread out in different sections of the store, however the help was never offered and I was the only customer in the store. Even as my partner and I left, the clerk was talking to another employee and did not greet us goodbye or thank us for our business. read more

This place is a hidden gem. I am absolutely in LOVE with this store! They have cutest knick knacks and great stationary items. I went here for my wedding stationary and loved it! I had all of my invitations, thank you cards, menus, and tags made here and Shelby was a pleasure to work with. She was very patient with me especially because I kept changing my mind and everything turned out to be amazing!!! I called Seaside Papery two days ago to ask what time they closed since their hours are not listed on Yelp. Shelby told me they closed at six. I got there a little before six and they were closed. Understandable. I get off work at five. I went there again yesterday, I got there around 5:20..and yes it was closed. The lady at the counter did not acknowledge me. I was really looking forward to buying something cute, but I guess I won't get a chance. I walked next store and bought a few things, both nights. If she planned on closing early, why didn't she just tell me that? And please do not give me the whole 'small business stuff'. I work and grew up in a small business. I know how it is. Be polite. The girl next store was closing her store last night, but opened it back up so we could shop. From what I saw from the windows everything looked really really cute. I am bummed. read more

Cute and unique paper goods not found at your local Office Depot. You will pay for these hard to find items. A luggage tag with three mariachi men for seven dollars? I'll take it. Stickers that let everyone know these books are yours for seven dollars? Mine! Lemonade scented lip balm for six fifty? My son will love it more than his Chapstick, bag it. I had to get two books for my kids. Courtesy gift wrap. Grand total= just under sixty dollars. Yikes, but I am on vacation. Very cute shop! Lots of paper including some sheets I already own so I passed on it. It looked as though they did gift wrapping for free which was cool. Besides the gee gaws and baubles everywhere, they also do invitations. I saw someone helping a couple put together their wedding invitations and she seemed knowledgeable about the process. I found a cute little dish that I'll probably give to my best friend for Christmas. The shop wrapped it up in tissue and tied a ribbon to the bag. Nice! read more

Coffee was calling, but I saw the beautiful window display of butterflies, walked in and fell in love with this store. I loved stationery as a child and nostalgia just passed over me as I perused the beautiful cards, notepads, and journals that were there for the buying. Though I don't write as many letters on nice stationery as I used to, I do still send out paper birthday cards and Christmas cards, not the photo cards or newsletters that most people send now. It was great to see all the wonderful boxed cards they have for Christmas and the funny and sweet cards they had for birthdays and special occasions. They also had Halloween related items like mugs, books, candles and etc, that would make a nice addition to your home decor or office cubicle. I spied a couple of framed prints of California, and thought it'd be perfect for the bathroom. With the help of my husband, we picked the more interesting of the two. I also ended up buying a Kate Spade pencil case that I've never seen before. It's about the size of an iPad mini and can function more than a pencil case. I can put my phone in there with a few other things. If you're old fashioned like me and still prefer to send out paper invitations for parties, then this place is a great source. They have all kinds of invitations you can customize for your own needs. I love receiving paper invitations in the mail. They are just so much more exciting than the electronic ones. The two ladies who were working were great. They were very friendly and wrapped both purchases very nicely. One of them noticed my Nike Women's Half Marathon Tiffany necklace and we chatted about it for a little bit. If it hadn't been for the urgent need for coffee, I would have stayed longer in this store. There were so much cute stuff to talk yourself into buying! read more

The CUTEST papery I've been in outside of Europe (I have not been to many). But seriously, there are so many gorgeous items for any occasion that requires a gift-- whether thoughtful, funny or whimsical. It's not horribly expensive either which I loved. I was in there for literally 45 min. I'm obsessed with their items for written letters like their stationery, cards, envelopes etc. (they even have those envelop wax stampers and everything you'd need to do it yourself). I always loved the books they had in there, and this darling recipe box and recipe stationery for you to document recipes on. Truly cannot wait to go back! I love love love this place! read more

I love paper stores and couldn't pass this place without stopping in on our recent trip to coronado island. It's a cute store with very cute cards and other paper goods, i bought a few things for my daughter's pineapple themed birthday. The customer service didn't seem all that great, no one greeted me or asked if they could help me look for anything. When i went to pay there were two ladies at the register, no hi or so much a smile and while I was being rung up they continuously greeted other incoming patrons.
