    Wedding cards (Sep 2024)

Seaside Papery (established in 2004) is a super cute stationery boutique located on the busiest part of Orange Avenue in Coronado Island. [Parking]: Parking can be pretty difficult in this part of Orange Avenue, but you may find free street parking nearby if you are lucky. [Items]: They sell specialty gift wrap, party accessories, writing accoutrements, and stationary. They also offer personal consultations on boutique wedding stationery by appointment. I came here to find a wedding card and nothing stood out as super unique, but the selection had a broad and mass appeal. I ultimately got a card for $6.50 and a dark grey pen from LePen for $2.50. [Conclusion]: A nice shop to check out after a meal at the next door neighbor Little Frenchie. I wouldn't recommend anyone driving out of the way just to get a greeting card here, but it is certainly worth a stop if you are nearby. A nice tourist shop to check out after dining next door at a popular restaurant called Little Frenchie. I wouldn't recommend anyone go out of their way just to buy a greeting card, but it is definitely worth a stop if you are near Coronado Island.

Came by this very darling shop while visiting Coronado. There are so many cute items here and my daughter was loving the jelly cat selection. I loved the cute little earrings. The ladies were very nice here and helpful. My girls are already talking about coming back!

Gorgeous store full of beautiful stationary, gifts, paper goods, and do much more. My favorite stationery store in SD, so many cute things to admire and surround yourself with.

This place has absolutely beautiful things. The reason for the lower star review is that a fair share of items for sale are straight from Paper Source -- and at a nice markup from their retail prices. But, this is a tourist spot so many folks may not have a PS near them, nor know they are getting ripped off. Moderately friendly staff. Definitely a great addition to Orange St. and the quirky shops on the island. The front display (and my pic) are of these beautiful butterfly garlands. I'm not sure where I would ever put one, maybe a girl's room? But definitely worth a look just for those. UPDATE! According to the owner comments on my review I was WRONG WRONG WRONG about my Paper Source products comment. Plus one star for my being WRONG and for the owner's to take a not entirely positive review and reply intelligently!

I stopped in while strolling around in Coronado last weekend. Some gift shops aren't worth a visit but this one is tres chic! I lusted after their selection of cacti pillows with tassels as well as their charming San Diego prints. I found the best smelling sunscreen, as well as very good earrings. I think this shop will help you find great California souveniers or gifts if you are a tourist, or just giftworthy items if you are a local. Their in-house giftwrapping service is totally worth it!

There were a few other couples in our session, but it still felt intimate and personal. For $150, we were able to make three creations of anything we wanted during the 1 hour and 30 minute class. We had so much fun the entire time. The studio itself is super cute and clean, which made the experience even better. Pinch is such a perfect way to introduce yourself, your partner, or your friends to pottery. If you're new, they teach you the basics and guide you through everything if you need help. They also have a ton of different glaze colors to choose from, which I loved. Definitely will be coming back again!

There is an ABM Parking lot right across the street from the East Curb line, $10 for 12hrs of parking, on a Saturday Night that is great for downtown. The staff here was Wyathe and Shelby. They were very good with teaching our group the ways to produce beautiful pottery. The class is $90/person and that includes the instructional 45mins class plus 1 pottery item. If you want to add more items, it's $10/additional item. With the time I had left I opted to do 1 additional item. This allowed me to form and create another small bowl to complete a set of 2. I plan to use them for individual rice and meat dishes at work lunch. Wonderful party, we were allowed to bring light Hor d'oevres and juices and water for the group. Nice time and I highly recommend.

Jill makes framing seem like an art in and of itself. Once in the frame, you can't imagine your chosen art piece outside of it. The frame not only becomes an extension of the piece but you start to get the feeling it can't live without it. Wood Gallery has been framing my favorite artwork and memories for the better part of a decade or more before having ever even stepped foot in her gallery, until last week. I was on vacation in San Diego, with the family, when we decided to go to Coronado for the day, so we decided to stop in for our 1st visit. WOW, I was amazed! I couldn't help but get the feeling that I was stepping into a museum not a storefront. It was such a pleasure to finally meet Jill in person. The gallery had several hand signed lithographs of one of my favorite artists, Picasso, along with plenty of traditional and contemporary original artwork by a range of local and international artists. Jill's staff was courteous, friendly and knowledgeable without a hint of attitude like so many other places. They have no problem with curious visitors who just want to walk in and take a look at the beautiful artwork. I will continue to have my framing done exclusively by Jill and her art gallery. Coronado turned out to be a great little stop on our visit to Southern California. Art and Frames by Wood Gallery is a must stop when in Coronado. Don't forget to ask for Jill!

Overview: loved this beginner class, great instructions and demo, beautiful finished product…read more ---- I saw their place on instagram and they had a special price for their anniversary, their 90-min wheel class was for $50 instead of their usual $80. I've thrown on a wheel in the past but this was a great opportunity to refresh those days! Parking was a little difficult, there is a paid parking lot, but luckily I was able to find street parking. Very clear demo and explanations, with a small class size (I think there was 8 of us). Our instructor Cristina does the demo first and then we try it and she is there to help us if needed. Once you finish your projects you can engrave designs into your pieces so I drew a little cat face on the bottom of the bowl. Unfortunately bc it was on the bottom of the bowl where the glaze pools, it was basically hidden by the glaze :( I wish I had known beforehand, then I would've chosen a better placement for the face. If you tilt it in the right lighting you can see the cat, but it's a beautiful bowl regardless! I like that they take care of everything else after you make the pieces, they trim, glaze, and fire it for you and you just have to be patient and wait for that email to come through that your piece is ready for pick up (4-6 weeks). From the class (3/7) to getting the bowl in my hands (4/10) took a month and a few days, due to the many pieces they have to fire. They have specific days and times for piece pick-up which they list on their email. ---- Overall: a great time for beginners or people with past experience, I'm happy with my piece and it reignited a dormant passion!
