Fantastic place to go to if you have sewing questions. I went in there asking for assistance with sewing. I was recommended a tool to pick up from Michaels and a sewing machine that could do it. Everyone there was so nice. Mostly sewing machines there but they can definitely answer any questions for sewing read more

My machine started squeaking the other day and I realized that I've never had it serviced in all the years I've owned it. I found Paradise Sewing here on Yelp and decided to try them out. Dropped off my machine and got a call with an estimate of how much it would cost to service it and how they would service it. I gave them the go ahead and it was ready to be picked up the next day. My machine runs so smoothly and perfectly now. I love it! I definitely would recommend them for machine servicing. It looks like they also have an area for quilting and classes. I might pop in and check one of those classes out one of these days. read more

Great job. Don't take my baby, my sewing machine, to just anybody. My husband called and he could tell the owner knew what he was doing. I will take my baby, sewing machine there again. We will be back. I trust him. Great job. Vida and Mark Wade read more

I use to love going to this store, but the staff there has been short and unhelpful lately. I stopped in today to pick something up and was met by four people huddled in the doorway who immediately told me they were closed due to a pipe rupturing. They then asked what was I shopping for ( which I didn't understand why that was relevant if they are closed). When I told them I needed fabric and some batting they replied "we can't help you due to the water". I wonder if I wanted an expensive sewing machine if they would have let me in. read more

Lots of machines, classes offered, fabrics for quilting projects, limited inventory for notions, etc. staff were quite nice, friendly so think it would be good place to take a class, learn new project read more

I heard about Paradise Sewing from a Reddit thread years back and I'm so glad I did. My wife had been sewing on the same machine for over 20 years and we finally upgraded. We purchased a Baby Lock Serger form Paradise Sewing 3 years ago and knew without a doubt we were going back when we were ready for our second machine from Peter. I first need to say: Peter and his team CANNOT be beat. My wife and I live in Los Angeles and will forever drive to Poway to buy machines from Peter. If we ever move out of state and need another machine, we'll fly into San Diego to buy from Peter. His customer service is second to none, and once you buy a machine from him, the customer service doesn't stop. No other sewing retailer gives the care Paradise does. I truly believe Peter loses sleep over making sure his customers are happy and will go above and beyond. Whenever we are in the store, every customer seems to treat him like family, and he does the same to them. He's the absolute best & we are customers for life! read more

Paradise Sewing has it all. Peter, the owner, works with you if you need a new sewing machine. Cyndi, Lisa, Nancy, and Sue are just about perfect in all their machine and sewing knowledge. They all teach classes on sewing, how to work your machine, quilt making and Clear Blue Tile & Quilting in the Hoop. I took a class with Cyndi and made the nicest bag in 2 classes. Right now, I am taking a class with Sue and making the cutest Honey Bee quilt. She makes the classes fun, informative, and is interactive with you in class and I enjoy her classes very much. Sue offers classes where she works with you, answers any questions you may have, and teaches in a manner that enables everyone to follow along and complete a quilt. Paradise Sewing is the place to be. read more

I love, love, LOVE this place! Paradise Sewing helped me upgrade to a new Pfaff Icon for a reasonable price. This place has embroidery, quilting, and serger machines. They can fix any sewing machine. Peter, the person that runs the establishment, is super friendly and loves to help people. I am pretty sure this new Pfaff has helped lower my blood pressure because it's so easy to use and to learn new techniques! Drop in and see! They have wonderful fabric, stabilizers, batting, needles, notions - you name it, and it's excellent quality. Have fun visiting Paradise sewing and tell Peter that Maureen sent you! read more

Paradise Sewing - This is the Pfaff sewing machine I bought. It's a total gem! - Fabric Stores Near Me - Poway, California

Bought my daughter a sewing machine from Peter the owner of Paradise Sewing . He included a couple of classes as she's a beginner. He also honored the yelp discount on the barely used Swinger Machine. As well as a $20 birthday bonus, to help her purchase fabric etc. Peter also threw some thread to get her started. Very pleasant and informative personality. I will be continuing to be a continued customer due to his exceptional customer service and generosity. Thank you Peter Best Regards, Hope read more

So grateful for paradise sewing!! Peter was so helpful in repairing my Juki serger. It wasn't an easy fix but he went out of his way to make sure it was working and communicated with me throughout the process. Great local shop. I'll be back! read more

The staff at Paradise Sewing is awesome. You are greeted warmly at the door, they have the best customer service and any problem you might encounter is immediately remedied. I have purchased a couple of machines here at amazing prices. Once you buy the machine, you are able to take classes to learn it. They are always are willing to answer a question no matter how long you have had your machine. In addition to being a personal customer, I am part of a non profit organization, Prayers & Squares. Peter gives us a good price for our machines for maintenance. We recently traded in a couple of our machines and got an excellent price for a couple of refurbished machines for our use. We thank Peter for helping us to help our community. A BIG shout out to Lisa. She is so knowledgeable and is able to explain in a way that you can understand. I bought a long arm with Pro Stitcher and let's just say, l am still asking questions. Thank you. read more

I highly recommend this place if you are looking for NICE cotton fabric and don't mind paying a little more to SKIP the JoAnn's lines/wait/rude service. I would happily come here instead. The selection is very specific and fabric area is much more smaller and quaint, but they make up for it in their fabulous service. Each and every time I go into their store, I feel like family. Everyone greets you. Someone will be by your side to help you find your fabric, cut your fabric and ring you up. There's great fabric finds here, it's like the Nordy's of department stores compared to like a Kmart. You get what you pay for, great things. read more

Nice store but....it has been a week and still no return call about a question I had with my Sewing machine.

Wow! this store is by far superior to any other sewing/quilt store I've ever had the privilege of experiencing and I've been sewing for 50+ years. If their great prices don't amaze you, their courtesy, integrity, and their desire to please surely will. I travel 1 1/2 hours to get here because nobody can come close to what they offer- in product or service or attitude. If you are overpaying for what you get in your sewing machine purchase or maintenance, don't even think twice. Go see Peter (30 years in sewing machine repair), or take a class with Nancy or Lisa ( their resident instructors). you'll be thanking me for writing this review you're welcome‍ read more

I have bought several machines here, both for myself and for my non-profit. Peter is very fair and easy to work with. He is genuinely concerned with sending you home with a machine that is the best fit for your needs. I trust I will get a fair deal here, both for new and used machines. This is the only place I will bring my machines for service or repair. read more

The folks here are honest and helpful. Great place to get an older sewing machine like my Elna repaired. They don't try and sell you a new one if your current machine is fixable. They also have an excellent choice of thread. I would highly recommend this business. read more

Haven't been to this place in ages but needed to get my baby lock sewing machines serviced. The bobbin winder wasn't working and the machine kept jamming up. I've had it for almost 10 years and only got it serviced 1 time. Found out Peter is the new owner. He was super friendly ...great customer service. He diagnosed my machine on the spot and gave me a free estimate. Found out it really needed maintanance . He had to fix my bobbin winder, replace the bobbin case and tuned everything up for me. He gave me a discount for servicing my machine and it only took 2 hours to fix everything! I'm happy this place is still business. read more

I have been a customer of Paradise Sewing for many years. I have learned that working with any business is a two-way street. In this instance, it is my responsibility to ask questions so that I understand how the servicing of my machine works. But, I also feel any store needs to provide an estimate when I drop off my machine, and should call me if they come across issues that will add to the final price of my machine repair. I recently had such a surprise, and, after discussing with Peter, he was more than fair with the final price. Secondly, I purchased a machine that ultimately was having issues with stitches skipping. After two unsuccessful repairs, I called the Pfaff corporate office who suggested Paradise Sewing send my machine in to them. They said it would take at least 8 weeks. After about two months, Peter called and told me the district manager and he had decided they were going to give me a new machine. I can't tell you how happy and relieved I was to hear this news. This is excellent service. Throughout the time I was without this main machine, Peter had offered to loan me another machine from the store. I declined because I had another more basic machine that I preferred to use. Lastly, the staff at the store is very helpful. I've purchased several Accuquilt dies, and am really happy they carry this brand. If you can't find anything you want, ask for it. Sometimes you might have to call to remind them about items they've ordered for you, but hang in there, and you will get it. I'm also pleased they are beginning to carry some great fabric lines such as Tula Pink's. I look forward to taking more classes now that we're pretty much through this current phase of covid. (fingers crossed). Peter is a very caring guy, and wants to keep us sewers/quilters happy. Let him know how he can do it. He'll be happy to hear your suggestions. read more

They always give A+ customer service everyone in the store is helpful and makes you feel welcome and that they care about you. As a long time customer of Paradise Sewing having followed to 3 different locations in Poway, each better than the previous . I highly recommend this store. Friendly and knowledgeable with everything they offer for sale. I recently purchased a Babylock serger. I have thought about doing this for several years. Received a great purchase price and had a lesson from Cindy today which was very clear and precise. Classes are free with purchase. I came home excited and ready to serger ahead! read more

Laura Jimenez sold me a beautiful sewing machine. I was able to buy it on 0% percent interest on there store credit. I had a very large unexpected expense that came up right after I bought it. I went back to the store very upset. Laura had her manager talk to me and we were able to make a different payment plan Which I really didn't think they would do. I am really glad that they Gould help me. I really like this machine. I wanted a new machine got many years. One of the main reasons I bought here was because they would help me learn how do use the machine. Plus I talk to the man in the back that works on all the machines to find out which one was a good one. I'm glad that I decided to buy my machine there too! read more

I am in love with this place!! They have some amazing machines in here. I was beside myself. Anthony is the best sales person ever. Extremely helpful and knowledgable. Eager to show you how each machine works, describes the differences, pros, cons etc. I got the best deal ever on a Pfaff sewing machine thanks to Peter. He really worked with me and made some major exceptions to meet my budget. Hats off to Peter. All staff is very friendly and willing to help. Highly recommended and I am sure to be back! read more

Felt so loved and cared for when I stopped by to get an estimate on a broken sewing machine. I was weary about asking for a quote since the first sewing place I went to gave me a ridiculous estimate by racking up so many miscellaneous service fees when all I wanted was to fix the part where the thread kept jamming in the bobbin casing. I was greeted and helped right away without a moment to spare! The lady who swooped in and helped me I believe was the owner. She knew right away what was wrong and even took the time to show me why the thread kept jamming and taught me how to maintain the machine. She was so honest when she said the service would cost the same amount as the price of the machine and that is wasn't worth getting it serviced. So with some elbow grease and sandpaper she fixed it up in no more than 10 minutes! This is definitely a place worth coming to even if it's out of the way. The experience is well worth your time. Everyone is welcomed whether you're completely inexperienced or young. The owner genuinely want people to enjoy sewing! Thank you for lighting that spark of interest back into sewing with your passion and hospitality. Left the store smiling ear-to-ear! read more

I am so grateful for Mr. Peter and the staff at Paradise Sewing for their exemplary and friendly customer service and repair of my Kenmore sewing machine. The machine is quite old and I had it in to be repaired at another store for irregular stitching and skipping and the machine came home doing the same thing. Mr. Peter looked at the machine and smiled and said he had worked on these machines with his father, talked of it's good quality, and said he understood them well. He identified the problem immediately and said they could (and they did) fix it). The repair was done in a few days and I now have a functioning machine again! Yay! Thank you Paradise Sewing! Please may I add that at no time did Mr. Peter criticize the prior store. In fact he said it could, with this machine's qualities, be understandable as to how they thought they had fixed it and yet it was not That, to me showed great customer service and integrity and character. Also his friendliness and competence combine together to make a great help if you have a machine you are needing repair. Again, thank you Paradise Sewing! read more

I purchased a new Baby Lock Soprano machine from Peter a couple years ago. I received training on the machine and help when I had technology issues I didn't understand. They were so fair and helpful to me. This week I took my Bernina 830 into have him clean and repair it. I've owned my Bernina for nearly 50 years. This is not just a store where my wife buys things relating to her quilting hobby. It also repairs vacuum cleaners and has great pricing on new models. Our 9-year-old vacuum cleaner finally could no longer just be repaired this week so we had to buy a new one. People who work here are friendly and helpful. I saw a quilt I loved hanging up advertising a Saturday class. I asked if I could just buy the pattern since I don't live nearby. The saleswoman told me the pattern was available online for free. But then she went the next step and looked it up online and printed it out for me!! No charge!!
