Aloha all! This review is strictly regarding the Garden Center at Lowe's Poway. I decided to visit Lowe's because they are closer to home. I usually frequent the "Depot", their competitor, but decided to see what they had to offer in the case of outdoor plants for my yard. I was pleasantly surprised. The Garden Center was well maintained and the plants were thriving. There was quite a selection of plants to choose from, but, I decided to purchase two color bowls of Calibrachoa or trailing Petunia's The flowers added a nice pop of color to my yard. I'll definitely return when I'm in need of more plants. The associates were helpful, answered all of my questions and assisted me with my purchase. read more

I was driving on the freeway when I noticed the car was making strange noises beneath the engine.  I parked at the nearest mall to investigate.  It appeared the plastic protector under the engine lost some part that was holding it to the underside of the car.  Lucky there was a Lowe's in the mall.  I got some twine and tied it up to keep it from scraping on the ground.  Luckily I had some twine left for my latest project to keep cool without using the AC. I bought a 10x10 aluminum shade cloth with 99% reflectance to place over the patio umbrella I used to keep the sun off my living room patio door.  I looped the twine through the grommet of the shade cloth and tied it to the metal frame of the umbrella. Some temperature measurements I took of the umbrella before adding the shade cloth 1pm: 110-115F top of the umbrella with just umbrella fabric 92-97F 2 sunshields underneath 84F top sun shield + 2 sunshields underneath 75-77F living area under the umbrella Temperature measurements after adding the shade cloth 1pm: 82-88F  underneath umbrella with 2 sunshields underneath 78F living area under the umbrella The reason the temperatures are higher on the second test is it was warmer that day.  The aluminum shade cloth is doing a great job keeping my umbrella from heating up from the sun.  While parts of my umbrella go over 110F now the highest temperature is 88F.  I am very impressed by the shade cloth which is kinda like a huge reflective tarp. read more

I called to report a poor experience. I explained our 3 attempts to report our issue and the poor experiences with Lowes employees with manager, Lily. Pallets were not ordered and when asked to get them picked up, someone said just throw away. I explained how I spoke to several people about our inconvenience and how no one ever apologized for our inconvenience. She took notes for next delivery driver to pick up pallets and not to leave more with the next delivery. I did not even get an apology from a Lowes manager for all the trouble. Will not shop here again. Do not recommended. It was delivered today, without following the eta and detailed instructions my wife gave to Lily. It was left in the middle of my driveway and my wife could not park her car. We have a special needs son and this is a major inconvenience for us. They also left additional pallets we did not order. I have been on hold to speak to manager for over 27 minutes now. read more

I was at Lowes in Poway for the curbside pickup of two large wooden planters yesterday. Kottor, the person bringing out my purchase was wonderful! He asked for assistance from a fellow employee (Colton) in separating the two items that were stuck together. Colton said he was too busy and that I should take the items just as they are. I told him I could not take them "as is" because I am 83 years old with a very bad back and asked if he would try to help Kottor. Colton told me I had to take them as is or don't take them at all - and simply walked away. Kottor replaced the items. Lowe's should hire more Kottor-type people and get ride of Colton. read more

Well, we've made our last purchase at Lowe's Home Improvement ! A $200 power washer failed on day 89 and they refuse to exchange it. What a difference between the business model at @Lowes vs HomeDepot. Their points expire twice a year now and the system makes you redeem them online before you can use them. I tried coming in to get help to do that but I couldn't get the help, I was simply told to go online and told to do it before the end of the year. I did so at 9:30 pm but apparently it was eastern time that it needed to be done by. I wrote customer service to get zero help I was just told I was out of luck because it was eastern time (which I wasn't told this) it wouldn't be that big of a deal but I paid for an entire remodel at Lowe's this year. read more

You know, it's really sad when Yelp becomes the only outlet to scrape any type of justice out of a faulty company that has begin to erase its ethics. I bought a product at this location and had it for less than a week when it broke. I went back to the store, with the receipt in hand, showed them the defective item, and got a response was apathetic as can be..." Sorry, that's on you now." Now, I agree if I had done something to cause its defect but removing the plastic wrap and watching a shoddy screw immediately become dismantled from the product; that should NOT be a weight placed on anyone's back. Their response: we just changed some policies about receiving items back, regardless of how faulty it was when the customer purchased it. Well, that's $50 I'm now gonna have to somehow squeeze out of a third-party company because Lowe's is now choosing to be this classless and claim zero responsibility even though it was THEM who sold me THAT exact product that IMMEDIATELY fell apart. While it's true that the company who sold the product should have to bear the brunt of settling the financial ends, a customer service policy is supposed to serve as a bond with a customer that'll help breathe trust and faith into the purchasing experience. Correct me if I'm wrong but they should be assuming the role of being an advocate who'll fix these types of matters. They did not. They claimed indifference. In short, if you want to do business with an organization that has zero concern with being an advocate for their customer and the corrupted circumstance they introduced you to, then Lowe's is your misery matchmaking marketplace to lose money at. This is a review of the Lowe's Poway installation services from about two years ago. Why it took me so long to write the review? Well I usually let things sit for a while to make sure I'm not reacting too emotionally one way or the other. Unfortunately I forgot to post the review for a while and I stopped using Yelp in the meantime. Anyways, on to the ok, and the bad. My wife and I got a set of double doors and, after shopping around, found Lowe's to have the most reasonable prices and time-frames. So we put in the order, we had to do more calling than we wanted (you'd think a salesperson would want to actually close the sale), and actually ended up doing the paperwork with a completely different person. The installers are who I took biggest issue with. They installed the door fine enough, but when they installed the deadbolt (we have a Yale smart lock), the lock was too shallow, and you can audibly hear the bolt hit the other door, and the lock will try a handful of times to completely close, before erroring out. When I had these guys come back, they said it installed properly even though I showed them what was going on, they said the deadbolt works and they don't need to do anything, which I guess technically is true, except by using it as a smart lock since it shows as always open. read more

I've gone to Lowe's in the past so when my sister wanted to gift me a new fridge, I went there and made payment immediately. I paid for installation, a warranty, etc. I am absolutely LIVID over the ordeal of getting this connected. The sales person and delivery people have been great. BUT it is now about a week since this was delivered and it is NOT installed because the store did NOT TELL ME what had to do additionally. They delivered the refrigerator..but then the delivery person said they couldn't install it because it needed a new copper water wire. It did. So I paid a plumber to come out and install it. Then i called Lowes and two delivery people came in to take out my old refrigerator and finally install the new one -- but they could NOT. It turns out it also needs to have a valve installed in the wall. So I will pay a plumber AGAIN to come and do more work.The bad part is that I am traveling so once this is in the wall it will take me several DAYS for them to install it. IMPORTANT: I've been in San Diego since 1982. I have bought ALL my refrigerators over the years at Lowes. This is a horrible experience. The store should have told me IN FULL what might be needed to install it so i get the ice and water. My old refrigerator was in stalled in 2014 with no hassles whatsoever. Will I buy another appliance at Lowe's? Most likely NOT after spending so much time on the phone with Lowes and waiting for people to come and install it, which they could NOT. Store needs to make FULL DISCLOSURE upon purchase about what needs to be done. Great salesperson, great delivery people but shocking POOR disclosure. I ordered some metal panels for a roof. I was told delivery in 10 days. After 12 days I called. They told me my delivery was delayed. Yet, there was nothing online that said my order was delayed. The associate told me my order would be in the NEXT day-a Friday. I called the store at 5PM and I was told the order was not in. I called on Monday and the person that answered told me she would check on it. I was on hold for five minutes and no one got back on the phone. I called back and I got the person that took my order. I asked why she told me my order would be in on Friday when it was not. After arguing back and forth, I hung up. I called a manager and I was informed the order had arrived but it was not logged in to the store. I picked up my order without further problems. In the future I'll stick with HD. As a comparison, I went to HD AFTER Lowes to buy an impact driver on sale. When I looked for it, it was sold out. The associate in the tool area sold me a more expensive one at the sale price. Came for some plants. There is a large selection of plants from Monrovia and Claremont nursery. There is currently a shortage of pot/planters because of Covid pandemic. I could not find terra-cotta 7 inch but found really cute ceramic 4 inch and tall ceramic 4 inch for orchids. Ended up going home with a peace lily, gardenia, spider plant and a green dracaenus. read more

Drive the extra 10 minutes to Home Depot and spare yourself a headache. I normally stay away from this Lowe's due to below average experiences in the past. A few days ago I decided to make an exception to that rule because Lowe's was going to be able to get a toilet I wanted shipped to their store a few days quicker than Home Depot (big mistake.) I got an email today saying my toilet was ready for pick up. Hooray! I followed all the instructions through their email to check in and let them know I was on my way. I was informed my item should be ready up front when I got there. Great! That's where the fun stuff starts: I ended up taking my wife and 2 young children along with me because we were going to grab some food afterwards. I had assumed based on the email and the fact that I had already paid for the item that we would be in and out. Boy was I wrong. After waiting in the customer service line for 10 minutes I get to the cashier and was informed that my item is not in the front. It's back in receiving for some reason. Alright. No big deal. The cashier gets on her walky talkie and tries to get through to a fellow employee that was not answering. Maybe she was on her break, right? So then she calls Jorge. She informs us Jorge will be helping retrieve our toilet from receiving. It gets better. We wait patiently for another 5-7 minutes before I see Mr. Jorge. A middle aged, able bodied looking fella, meandering towards us at about the speed of an overweight tortoise. I mean he was walking so slow it looked like it took real effort. I thought to myself "oh no, this isn't the guy they would send to retrieve something far away... Right?!" Sure enough, it was. After he confirms he's grabbing a toilet for us he proceeds to walk towards the back of the store at the same mind numbingly slow pace we witnessed on his approach. 20 minutes later the very capable Jorge appears, and voila! He's got the toilet! The kids are getting anxious, the wife and I are a little annoyed, but we have the toilet! Gotta cut Jorge some slack, he might of smoked a little too much pot before work, or maybe he's just having an off day. It's important to be sympathetic to what other people might be going through. Well we got home and opened the box and it turns out Jorge had only given us half the toilet. We had the bowl, but no tank. I can forgive the long wait, lack of hustle, and poor customer service. But I cannot forgive the half of a toilet thing on top of everything else. Way to go Jorge. read more

I called to get a high BTU ac that my husband is picking up on his way home. He stopped by Home Depot and he had eyes on a 8000btu there in Poway. I was looking to see if Lowe's had a higher BTU in stock. I called and this horrible AI answered really bad learning, from the sound of it, she had just come out of the box and was learning one store at a time, one caller at a time - and I was caller #1- hardly understood anything so I just started saying operator over and over. She finally put me through to the main line and they cut me through to someone (I thought) whom could help.... One can dream, right. Then I got an associate who said his name was Charles - it was 7:15 today Thursday when I am posting it. I asked if they had anything higher than 8000btu. He said they had a ge 15000 - I was relieved. I told him my husband would be there shortly, but I wanted him to have eyes on it. He argued with me and he came back and said they were at mission valley. So I ask him what else, do you have anything else above 8000 btu, I can pay for it o er the phone, he said "Look," like he was mansplaining it to me. I'd been on the phone 13 minutes. "I have to go, "I can't take orders over the phone and I have a customer here." (I thought he was going to add lady to the end of that here. And he hung up. When I was a freshman in high school I worked at the first big box store in Silicon Valley back then in the 1980s. I knew if I talked to anyone that way. I'd be fired, on the spot. There was no reporting you to hr three times back then. I always tried to be helpful, I was never like this on my worst days. Never thought I was above anyone who was coming in, I always was on the floor asking everyone if they needed help, and instead of pointing them in a direction, like they do now and cut you loose, I walked them over, asked them if that was it, or how else I could help them. I'd even call over to som other store and find out if that was what they needed. I asked this associate what his name was toward the end... afterward. So, maybe he might have given me someone else's name, I'd check and see who looked that product up during that time period just a bit ago, I'd also listen to the ai recording. Its learning IQ is really bad. So here's a pic of what my husband got at Home Depot and he order a 15000 btu from them as well. Lowe's - you loose, I guess that is why your lot is always so empty. Don't blame the location, every time I come to you, I have a difficult time finding an associate on the floor at all, let alone someone who can actually help me. You'd be surprised how often I buy it with someone telling me it's the right thing, open the box (because they mansplain how I can't open it first - and 15 minutes later (sometimes more) I've returned it. You're much closer - and no lines - but I am no longer going to try there. Fail, something else will move in there and hopefully employ more people and succeed. Lowe's Garden Center is great but don't try to buy appliances there. I had the worst experience ever when I purchased a set of washer and dryer for our rental. Their Spring Fest sale was great. Better prices than Costco or Home Depot. The purchase transition went smoothly and the salesperson made it sound so easy. Once paid, the delivery was free, we just paid $40 each for the haul away, and they were able to deliver in 2 days. When the delivery guys stopped by, the washer was an inch wider than the patio door opening. They refused to deliver even though they can lift it over a little pony wall that I was willing to assist. Never witnessed such rude and unaccommodating delivery guys. In all my years, the delivery guys were always so nice and willing to help the customers out. But the worst part was when I went back to try get my refund. I was given the go-around for more than a week. They kept sending me to a different person or department. Each time, my issue was heard and each person felt really bad for me and couldn't believe what I had gone through and promised to take care of the refund. I had to call at least 10 times and stop by to talk to different sales people or managers at least 5 times before someone actually looked into it and found that when the units were returned, they immediately sold the units to someone else and didn't update or refund to my account. This was the first and last time that I will ever purchase any appliance from Lowe's. Should always stick to Costco. They have the best return policy in the nation. read more

Let's talk about Cole... great guy very friendly and very helpful. Made me feel at home. On the other hand Jamie let's talk about this weird language he is using to a minor. He stated that when he was our age(15) he had a bigger d*** than us. We then walked in to get our supplies that we needed and Jamie went up into our ear and said "you little punks I'm going to fu** you up". Wish I had read the reviews before ordering the washer dryer. Ordered on April 25th and delivery scheduled for 2 days later. Bought pedestals too but they were back ordered. I was told by the appliance rep that the washer dryer will be installed and the pedestals will be installed when they come. The delivery huy came and was very reluctant to install if the pedestals were not there. He told me the space us not enough and the items were too heavy so they might scratch the floor. I asked him then whats the best thing to do and he went out to talk to his manager. 10 minutes later I went out but they had left without informing me. I went to the store and was given the delivery department number. Called and explained the whole thing 3 times.meanwhile the pedestals were delivered. I was given another delivery date and I waitedand called past the delivery window and was shocked to learn that it wasnt loaded. Once again nobody informed. Today I got an email from lowes that they have refunded back on my card. Now this is surprising that I never asked for a refund and they are deciding on my behalf. *Reconsider Appliance Purchase Here* Please note if you are considering purchasing an appliance that is not physically in stock at their store location, it will be coming from their Third Party Warehouse - if you have any issues or require a refund, you have to deal with the Third Party (Not Lowe's). Both were horrible! We typically purchase our appliances at Home Depot but we found ourselves without a working refrigerator. The prices at Lowe's and Home Depot were comparable. But we were desperate and purchased a new fridge here because we saw that we could get next day delivery. Red flag #1: We purchased the fridge from an associate who kept stating that she did not work in the appliance department. She joked that she couldn't upsell us on anything because she had no clue. But we knew what we wanted. Again - we needed a fridge and we were promised next day delivery. Red flag #2: "They'll call you with a delivery time." We made the purchase at 9:04 AM. No one called us. When we decided to call the 800# on the receipt after 5:00 PM that same day, was when we're told our delivery time window. Red flag #3: We appreciate the early delivery. BUT the delivery team was TW0 hours before their actual delivery window and called us when they were in front of the house as I was ready to drop off my son at school and my husband was heading to work. Again, what's the point? Red flag #4: It's been years since we purchased a new fridge. No one at Lowe's provided us paperwork or informed us what we needed to prep for the delivery. We cleared the old appliance, but the delivery team complained about the old water hose being too tight to turn and when my husband offered to do it himself, they kept insisting they couldn't deliver it. We were the first delivery of the day and already this demotivated team just wanted to end their day with excuses. Red flag #5: When the fridge was unwrapped, it was damaged. We understand that they couldn't unwrap the box when it was loaded into the truck - since this was coming from LA and undoing the box would damage the appliance during transport. BUT - they insisted that we accept the damaged refrigerator and then call to schedule delivery for a new one. What? We refused delivery. So they said someone would call and reschedule. Red flag #5: NO ONE CALLED. We waited all day. We called later that afternoon and were told that we had a new case number and that we would be contacted within 24 hours for a new refrigerator. Again, we were told to wait for a call. What?!? So we waited and the next day - we heard nothing! We walked back into Lowe's for a refund and were told by Customer Service that since the refrigerator came from the Third Party Warehouse and not directly from the Lowe's location, we would have to deal with the Third Party for the refund. So there we were extremely frustrated, standing at the Customer Service Department with no refrigerator and out $3500. The manager told us that there was nothing they could do since the fridge was "delivered" (which we didn't actually receive - since it was damaged) by the Third Party. He then recommended that we go to the appliance department to see what they could do to help - thanks Store Manager for managing ABSOLUTELY NOTHING. "Out of our hands - blah blah blah - We can't do anything on our end..." *smh* The Appliance Associate was nice enough to call the Third Party directly and we overheard him say that they had us "scheduled" for a delivery. Wow. Again, NO ONE called us. We reiterated our request for a refund and we luckily had no more issues after this. We even called our credit card company to dispute the charge but fortunately, and were given a refund within 24 hours. We went with Home Depot the next day. Even though it took a few days to wait for our fridge, there were no red flags. Excellent in store service. They explained to us that they used Temco for deliveries. Delivery time frame was easily trackable and on-line and via text! Imagine that! The delivery team was local and they even helped us take down our door since our doorway was tight, and put it back up. We were so impressed with them! We learned our lesson - good things come to those who wait. Never again Lowe's. NEVER again. Waste of time and effort. read more

Needed a new shower head for the bathroom so stopped in to Lowes. I walked around for a little bit, found the bathroom fixtures area but now shower heads. I asked one of the staff and she took me right to them. It was an easy and quick transaction. In addition, they have a 10% military discount. It always helps to save here and there. read more

I would give 0 or negative stars if I could. I bought a new fridge and washer/dryer unit from Lowe's in early November to have it delivered/installed and also haul away my old appliances. It's been an absolute nightmare. Lowe's need to take more accountability for their 3rd party delivery service Pilot for the horrible experience in the last 3.5 weeks: First delivery attempt failure: Lowe's store rep told me the delivery guys would unstack my stackable washer and dryer so that they would only haul away the dryer. This is a lie. Delivery guys arrived and refused to service the order and left. Also only got a 15 min before arrival call vs. the 30 min arrival call per standard. Second delivery attempt failure: Washer and dryer appliance was damaged upon delivery. Also only got a 10 min before arrival call vs. the 30 min arrival call per standard. We were able to rush there before they left but it was futile since delivery couldn't happen anyways. Third delivery attempt failure: Driver verbally told me he would wait 30 minutes since he called when he was only 5 minutes away. He did not wait and left. Tried calling him and he said he knows he promised but he couldn't wait and will not turn around to come back. Fourth delivery attempt (finally success): Got a time window of 11am - 3pm. Got a call from the driver at 9am that he was 20 minutes away. I was 40 minutes away from the house and they wouldn't wait. I had to call a friend because the delivery guy would not come back despite his early arrival outside the agreed time window. I called both Pilot (their 3rd party delivery service) and Lowe's to log this complaint and experience. I was HUNG UP on both calls. It is crazy the lack of decency and professionalism this company has. WORST experience ever. I made a $10K full house appliance order 5 months ago and the store gave me incorrect info and resulted in weeks of not having my appliances installed. Choose this Lowe's to get your project absolutely RUINED! Ordered a toilet and a range hood on 11/22/2021 and they promised a delivery date of 11/30. It then becomes 12/04 on the day before the promised date, then 12/08, then 12/12, then 12/16. I called the customer service somewhere between (who can remember when? It's been delayed 4 times now!), and they told me the toilet has no status update and maybe I can just wait another few days. I wasn't able to get someone on the phone for customer service afterward so I went to the store directly. They told me the shipping for the toilet hasn't had any status update since the beginning. Imagine sitting on a shipment with no updates for 2 weeks and doing ABSOLUTELY NOTHING about it. Anyway, I canceled the toilet and they told me the range hood can be delivered on 12/14. GUESS WHAT? On the next day, it becomes 12/20. Called customer service and they said they don't know why it was changed and so they changed it back to 12/14. Not even an hour later it got delayed to 12/18 again. At this point, I am fed up and just went ahead and canceled the whole order. Nearly one month back and forth and all I managed to get from Lowe's is just a gaping hole in my bathroom and hours and hours of time wasted calling and driving. I am such a clown for not giving them up sooner! Also tried to have carpet installed from them. BIG BIG MISTAKE. On the quote, they said the carpet will be available on 12/08/2021. GUESS WHAT AGAIN? When I asked they told me it won't be ready until 12/27. RIDICULOUS! Now we have to move in before the carpet is installed and then move everything around for the installation. (We chose Lowe's for the carpet because some sources say it is cheaper than Home Depot. We later learned this is by no means true after getting measurements and quotes from both.) read more
