I've been living in this neighborhood a very long time and I don't think I've ever had a bad experience shopping until I went to the Sherwin-Williams and was verbally harassed by one of the employees (Matthias) for not putting away a paper paint sample after my purchase. If you must go to this location, I would stay clear of this guy. He's unhinged, rude and unhelpful.. It was my first time going into this store and first time actually getting paint for myself. I had gone to the Poway location and didn't have the best experience and when I had called La Mesa location they just acted like they were being bothered. Jordan greeted me and my father right away at this location and He had exceptional customer service. He was so patient with me with all of the questions I had and the he was so knowledgeable explaining in detail about the paints and the difference between them. I ended up taking colors home to choose and if it wasn't for him this store or Sherwin-Williams in general wouldn't have gained a new customer. I went back purchasing four gallons of different colors and when I went back for the second time he greeted us the exact same way despite how busy he was taking care of other happy customers in the store. Apparently Randal has been in the painting business for over thirty years and was an excellent source of information relative to my painting needs. Sherwin-Williams paint even with their current discount is a little bit on the pricey side but Randal's expertise and patience with my many questions was well worth it. I love to repaint and redecorate my house, especially during the pandemic. (Its not to say I'm good at it, or that the results are spectacular) I usually go to home depot to get my paint but after doing some research and hearing that sherwin-willams had the best paint, I was a little nervous because first I went to dunn-edwards and was completely ignored so I just walked out. My experience at SW was spectacular. The customer service was absolutely amazing, everyone was following covid rules and had such great advice. Make sure you catch them during a 30% off sale. They even threw in the sanding paper I was going to buy for free and didn't notice it till I looked at my receipt and it read, "4 dollars off" on top of my 30% off. I even bought a paint color that I ended up not loving and they told me to bring it back in and they'd happily retint it for me. I will always come back here for future projects! read more

Frazee used to be an overpriced but decent paint place....but not anymore simce some conglomerate named Sherman Wilbert took over and beat the smack out of all that was good about Frazee. : ( So back when E-Verify first kicked in and I lost my landscaping job, i was painting houses for awhile. My boss, Bolillo liked using Frazee because they had factory made paint colors. They didn't store-mix every color. So if Pablo dropped a scaffold and effed up an accent wall in some gringo's mcmansion, getting touch up paint wouldn't be a big deal. The colors were standardized and a match was guaranteed. Well, no more! Sherwin Williams is el cheapo. They don't want to stock lots of paint colors. They dont want to ship lots of different colors. They say 'ship all white to all stores and let them mix colors on their own'. Do they care that every store's mixing machines are slightly different? Nope. Do they care that now, it's basically impossible to get exact matching touch up paint? Nope. And do they care that now I have to repaint an entire 12' wall instead of just the spot Pablo crapped on? I guess the answer is no. The paint is still good quality and the service is so-so, but cutting this major corner makes Shewin a lot less better than just going to the Home Depot. read more

Bught a 5 gallon bucket of paint during their 40% off sale. Needed a second but they didn't have it in stock. The sales person told me that he would honor the 40% off when I came back to buy the second bucket. So then I return a couple of days later and the manager tells me that he can't give me the 40% off because they're running a 30% off sale and the system wouldn't let him. Said there was nothing he could do, he could only give me 30%. I pressed and asked him twice if there really was nothing he could do and why would the sales person promise me the 40% off if he couldn't honor it? The manager gets an irritated look on his face, then goes to the register, takes off the 40% and walks away without saying anything. Felt really dishonest to me. read more

Don't Do It!!! I needed to get a gallon of paint to paint my garage doors. I had a 1/2 pint left of Frazee paint, so I went to Sherwin-Williams to get a gallon of the same, since they bought out Frazee. I was excited that they had 40% off paint and 30% off accessories this weekend. First, they no longer have the Frazee colors, so they color matched. It came out fine. When I went to pay, the gallon of paint is regularly $97 a gallon!!!!!! I paid $56 for the paint and tape was $9, so I got 30% off that. It came out to about $68 total!!!!! I should have gone to Home Depot. Even paying full price would have been better there. In all fairness, I should have asked the price of a gallon of paint and I am certain they up-sold me with the most expensive paint they carry. They should have offered the different price points. Since their paints are in the back where they mix, I didn't search the price out. Lesson learned. No wonder the salesperson sounded like a used car salesman, working deals with a contractor while I was waiting!!! Never again!!! read more

The manager was awesome. My sons are working on a small kids project. When we explained the project to the manager, he gave us great help and special deal for the kids! I don't want to say exactly what the deal was because everyone might expect the same thing. But we really appreciated it. I bought some other items at the same time to give them more business. Brought in a couple paint samples from our wall to find a match. We had the cans of paint from the previous owner of our condo, but none of the paints seemed to match what's on our wall. Course that could be because the condo was painted more than 13 years ago and the wall paint could've faded. In any case, we came into this Frazee paint location, now known as Sherwin-Williams, and was helped out by Nery. He was so incredibly helpful and patient in finding us a match. He informed us that the old cans of paint we brought in might need a good shake as the color particles could've settled on the bottom. He used his machine to shake up the paint for us and found a perfect match on 3 of 5 samples. Nery really knows his stuff about paint!! We didn't even end up spending any money during our last visit but that didn't seem to affect the way Nery handled our request. We will need to return to buy a can of new paint for one of our walls that he couldn't find a match for during our last visit. Great customer service here! read more

Well here I stand going on 10 minutes with no service. I'm feeling really stupid because I bought a bunch of stain for my deck and now I have to come back here to get the same kind. Since they were taken over by sherwin Williams their prices have gone up a lot and the place seems to be run mostly by teenagers. They are nice but there is only one employee in the store and now it's been 15 minutes with no service. Too bad because the super deck stain and Frazee paint are pretty good products. Oh well I will need to find a new place. Maybe Home Depot after all. Bummer. read more
