My husband and I bought our bathroom tile today. Everything went great inside the store. However, we found out that the right fender of our brand new silver color Lexus was badly dented and scraped by someone who "hit and run," on the parking lot and, who did not leave his insurance info. It turns out Floor and Decor on Penasquitos Dr. does not have outside surveillance cameras. The incident happened between 2pm and 3pm. I hope someone has the accident recorded on their car cameras and will contact me on 858-366-5232. I hope the driver who did that will do the right thing and contact me with his insurance information. read more

Building projects can be overwhelming. We are extending a bedroom, and adding a bath. There are a score of products that we need to choose, and quickly. Our builder recommended we try Floor and Decor for bathroom tiles, grout. Etc. Lucky for us, we were assigned to Marcela to assist us. That she did! She has a very creative "eye", so she was able to guide us towards good choices in a short amount of time. We had brought in a bathroom flooring sample from another store. We chose shower floor tile, grout, and also shower walls tile from Floor and Decor. However, she was quick to point out that the bathroom time sample from another store worked better than the samples from her own store. We were impressed. So we recommend Floor and Decor, and Marcela in particular, if you need help in " pulling it all together" for your project. Happy building! read more

You know how you know that you're officially an adult? It's when you actually enjoy going to places like this. Seriously, kind of a fun way to spend a Saturday morning. Is it better than getting drunk at a bar watching baseball? Nope. Not even a close second, but not too bad. I came with my mom and she knocked out a cool $351.85 on some flooring, which was not an easy task seeing that the options were endless and slightly overwhelming. Dhanashree "Shree" in the design center was extremely helpful. She patiently walked us through the store and showed us the different options for remodeling our bathroom. In less than an hour, she helped us choose the tile, grout, Schluter trim, and shower flooring. She also calculated the square footage and the exact quantities we needed for everything, which made the process much easier. She entered everything into the computer for us, and we were able to pay right there. The entire process was simple and efficient. i was purchasing several boxes of mosaic travertine tile today to finish a project and was told I am not allowed to open the boxes and inspect the merchandise for damage or quality. it seems ridiculous to me that you expect an average homeowner to purchase thousands or tens of thousands of merchandise without being able to preview what he/she is buying. Hopefully in the future you alter your policy and allow customers to inspect the merchandise prior to purchase. read more

Huge selection and inventory crammed into a large facility. They had the grout I needed for my bathroom floor in stock so I did not have to order online from the Big Orange or Big Blue DIY stores and wait for delivery. And they were cheaper to boot! Customer service inside is minimal, mostly because there are few staff. The Pro desk & Customer Pickup Crew are always busy but do a great job getting items out as quickly as possible. Lots of flooring options. Better prices than the big box stores in some cases AND lots of items in stock, which is key during these inventory-less times created by the pandemic. read more

I came to the store with a clear mind on what I needed to get for our ongoing bathroom renovation. Unfortunately, locating that item was difficult until I finally got someone to point me in the right section only to find that the item was only available in the back. This is where the customer service problems started. One male employee was helpful but busy attending another customer and tried getting his coworkers to help me out- but they were all busy or ignored me. When a female representative finally came to help, she initially *wrongly* told me another piece was item I was looking for (64 feet not 36) and then told me that the 36 feet was unavailable. I politely told her that there are 23 items in stock per their website at this very location. I waited another 15 minutes for her to procure the item from the back. I finally make it to the front and get checked out with the marble threshold in my cart to have it literally slip through the cart once going down their makeshift incline- cracking in 2 pieces. Fortunately, one of the associates in training (who honestly a is a SAVING GRACE) saw the whole ordeal and offered to help me. I asked him to get the item- as it was in the back and not out on display and he kindly agreed but told me to verify with the front check out. The check out employee then had the nerve to tell me that they can't authorize this and that they were not liable!!!! Fortunately the other employee authorized it but shame on everyone else. This location needs a serious revamping of customer service skills and basic kindness aside from the one employee under training- hopefully the business doesn't take away his decency given the attitude and apathy of the other employees. read more

EDIT The manager called me after and apologized for the bad experience and said that the broken tile was refunded. The situation should have never happened. Tiles break, customer shouldn't be paying for a tile that was broken in a box that they didn't see. I purchased 12 boxes of tile here that was almost $23 a square foot. Paid $2,000+. When we started opening up the boxes, a lot of the tiles were chipped and had severe color discoloration. I had to return half of it and wasn't able to finish the project. So I ended up using two different tiles in the bathroom because of this crap. Here's the kicker, when I come to return the tile, MATT, wouldn't return a broken piece that had a chip in it. He said that I broke it. He literally fought with me, and he yelled at me in front of other customers because of this. The guy behind me started defending me and said that there's a lot of tile that comes broken in boxes. He said I shouldn't have opened that box then. I have never been treated like this. this place is a joke with this kind of crappy customer service. What an embarrassment. You're gonna nitpick with a customer when it's not even my fault. There was a small chip in the tile, that I could not use so I am schlepping it back over here wasting my time to return it. I'll throw it in the trash. 23 bucks in the trash. I told him to open the boxes and see how many more broken tiles there were. Sure enough, open sealed boxes, and there were a broken tiles that were wrapped in plastic. I had 33 boxes of tile to return due to my contractor giving me a wrong estimate. I came to the store, unloaded the tile with my boyfriend from my trunk into two carts. As we approached the door, two boxes fell and broke in the floor. As we proceeded inside, I spoke to the cashier about my return. She explained that because my tile was purchased over 120 days, she would not be able to return it. She called her manager, Luis. Luis came and explained he felt bad but his hands were tied and there was nothing he can do. I asked if he had any recommendations for all the tile I had, and he said "EBay." Me and my boyfriend turned around and placed all the tile back into my car. I began to cry because it was $1200 worth of tile. I asked my boyfriend to retrieve the name of the manger Luis while I called the other floor and decor in San Diego and explained my situation to the manger there, Collin. When my boyfriend went to retrieve the name, then all of a sudden Luis called the store manager Matt who seems eager to help. It was too late, we already loaded the car and were turned away by Luis. However Collin at the other location in San Diego returned our tile no problem with store credit. He even unloaded my car for me. Sorry to say I will not be returning to this particular floor and decor. Terrible customer service read more

The sales staff at F&D were great. The store had reasonable prices and a good selection. My issue is with their "Installation made easy." It was not. Communication, ordering product and delivery was poor. There were far too many misstep's on their part that made the job a little frustrating. The installers were great. They did a good job-no complaints. If I were to do flooring again, I would get an outside contractor, have them measure, order and install the product we chose. read more

Don't get me wrong, they have a decent selection. But seemed stores a fran ruin of the size had larger selection. We found out most tile is produced in-house. Absolutely love it when I walk up to the countertop place and there's two old white people there that looked me dead in my face and literally never say a single word to me and as soon as a white person walks up, they ask if they need help. Yes I'm in just a T-shirt and jeans so maybe I don't look rich but I have money for my job and they probably just lost the $5000 counter sale. Just stop being racist. You never know who has money to purchase things, and if your employees are selecting, who they help like that, you're potentially losing a ton of business. I used to think that Floor and Decor was good for low prices. NO MORE. They are twice as expensive as Home Depot. That is called price gouging. I took the product back for a refund, and bought the exact same product at Home Depot. Also worst customer service including from Floor and Decors manager at the Milpitas Store. even afet I proved to him that his employee had overcharged me, he had no respect for my time it cost me, and made me wait another 15 minutes to get the first refund, whe he could have done the transaction himself. instead he made we wait for his employee to finish what she was doing and then that employee yelled at me. The same employee who over charged me. So beware of what the item you are buying actual cost is so they don't overcharge you, Also beware what other stores are charging for the very same item. Great selection and prices. Our flooring journey comprised of us spending every weekend, over a two month period, price checking and browsing the selections offered across all the major retailers for the perfect large format, wood grain, porcelain tile to cover about 1300 sq ft. Our flooring purchase was going to be our one and only install for the life time of our house. So, we spent some time researching and running around San Diego. The selection here is great! So is the customer service. They also have multiple locations, which came in handy when we were batching. We were so happy with our flooring experience, we came back here when we re-did our bathrooms too. This place is all around awesome. Every bit of flooring they sell has a large display to show off the item. This really comes in handy when/if it comes time to pick a grout (if you're going with tile). They have more than just tile though. They have all types and thicknesses of wood flooring as well i.e. manufactured, hard wood, laminate, stuff that's water resistant, etc. If you're concerned about how the wood is sourced or manufactured, they can get you that info. This place really is one stop shopping. If you're the DIY type, they have a small selection of tools to purchase. Prices for the flooring are amazing, but I found a lot of the tools cheaper in other stores. The tools they do sell are of high quality. I'm not so much a contractor as I am a "one and done" kind of customer. Spending a lot on quality cutters or trowels wasn't something I needed to do. The stuff I needed just had to last long enough. We financed our purchase, which was also easy. Took me about 10 minutes. Cannot beat no interest for 18 months! We also used one of their recommended contractors later on. The contractor we hired was awesome. Took all the guess work out of expertise/results. Basically, everything you do with floor Decore is going to work out well in our opinion. When you're done, they buy back any un-opened product. This is also awesome, since you'll be told to purchase 10% more flooring than you need due to product that will be wasted due to cuts/fitting. read more

Bought $6000. Acacia Engineered hardwood flooring. Looks great. Most of the advertised wearability claims are rubbish. Scratches easily, have pets its gonna scratch up. Have an office chair on wheels, it will kill surface looks. Oh we tried $55. Smooth floor protector desk mat, it made it worse. Water, oh my dont spill a drop this pressed cardboard with laminated wood look on top is soggy and ruined quickly. F&D has good selection, reasonable prices. We recently needed to replace the tile floor in our downstairs bathroom due to a plumbing leak under the slab. Knowing that it wouldn't be possible to match the new tiles with the other ones downstairs, I asked for help from Floor and Decor Design Specialist Department. Marcela and Rich gave me some ideas, even did a computer assisted design combining two different tiles. It was very helpful to see this design on paper. Ultimately, my husband and I decided to use the small tiles exclusively for a more cohesive look. Marcella helped me select just the right grout color and locate enough small tiles to complete the project. Just like other reviews, this store has poor customer service and employees aren't helpful. And I finally had to write a review over the multiple experiences. First trip - I needed more boxes of flooring, but had cleared out the section which only had 4 boxes. Walked around the store for awhile looking for an employee because I needed 10 more boxes. Finally found an employee, I told her my situation. She pointed to the pallet of boxes on the top rack, and walked away. No mention of offering to get a forklift driver to bring them down for me. I went to the cashier who helped but even he had a hard time getting someone to bring down the boxes. Second trip - I needed a molding to match my flooring. I had the color and sku number, but I didn't see those. I had asked an employee who said they would send someone over. After 10 minutes no one came over. Finally found someone else, her badge said she was in training. She said there was no molding that matched the flooring exactly, didn't even have her little scanning thing with her so I don't know how she knew that. Lol she said "she left it somewhere." We asked if she can help us bring down the molding to help match. We finally picked the molding and before she walked away she said "just so you know you can always take them down " wow just wow. Second trip, 2nd incidence - I would post about the cashier customer service, but I don't know if I would have enough room. read more
