This is my 2nd review for Kitchen and Bath Beyond. We had a flood in 2025 and needed new flooring, dry wall repaired, and cabinets fixed/rebuilt. We used KBB in 2018 to remodel our Master bathroom and decided to use them again. Just like in 2018, they showed up to work every day (including Saturdays) and worked late into the evening (one time staying till 9:00 pm to complete a portion of the project). David was our project Manager, he kept us informed daily on how the work was progressing and always listened to our desires and ideas. Efay (sic) did the tile work and was able to lay 4 ft X 4 ft Italian porcelain tiles with amazing precision. You can see how perfect each huge tile was laid. Miguel did the cabinet and dry wall work - excellent work! The entire team was easy to work with. The tile and cabinets look fantastic. All I can say is there is no one else I would take a chance with for model upgrades or repairs. This is my 2nd 5-star rating for them. read more

Kitchen & Bath Beyond Reliable Construction Project Part 2: Construction I do a lot of remodeling & through the years I have managed to gather a number of the best contractors in each field, so when I need them, I use them over & over. One of these contractors is KBB. They are simply fabulous. They do the design, planning, scheduling & construction. They even have a showroom but with me, it's easy. I do my own designs & they always manage to build my designs to the detail. They are friendly, professionals, detail oriented, hard workers, fine results, reasonable prices & satisfaction guaranteed. Last time they remodeled 3 bathrooms for me. This time they remodeled one. I called Sai (Project Manager). As always, they are very busy, but I pushed him to schedule me 2 weeks sooner than planned! Sai himself came over right after my call & I explained everything to him. When the time came, David (Operations Manager) came over & we planned the whole job. I handed him my diagram & he done his measurements. Before the job started, I asked David for 2 things: 1. Get this job done as fast as you can. 2. Give me your best men. He done both. David said the project will take about 3 weeks but he ended up finishing in 2 weeks & 2 days. Last time he done 3 bathrooms in 4 weeks which was a record for any contractor. This time he wasn't that fast, but the results were superb. David put Miguel his head worker in charge of demolition, electrical & plumbing. David imported his top tile-man from New York who was at vacation, back to San Diego to do my job. Yu was the Master Tile-man with 30 years of experience in China & 4 years with David. To make sure everything would go as planned, David supervised everything to the detail & done the shower rerouting of plumbing himself. I do not post pictures of my projects, specifically outside projects. This is due to security & also I do not want my designs to be copied; however, you don't need pictures because I shall explain everything to you. David knows I seek perfection & he provided perfection: KBB remodeled a bathtub to a shower, redone the bathroom floor, changed toilet gaskets, installed 3-bathroom faucets, signed, sealed & delivered! I got them to install large rectangular porcelain shower tiles on the walls & a wall to wall bench was created. They divided each square block of small rectangular glass mosaic glass tile piece in to half. They ran a runner from side to side of the 3-bathroom walls with the miniature mosaics right in the middle of each wall except in the large wall niche built on a side wall. In the niche, they used full miniature mosaic tiles block, so the miniature mosaic runners looked like a continuous thin line of colored glass right in the middle of the shower walls, going from one side to the other side of all walls connected to the niche full of mosaic! Looked great. They put a new bathroom floor for the toilet & bathroom areas both. Large flat bathroom floor tiles, so you don't slip & large shiny shower tiles, so they are waterproof. Shower floor was decorated with octagon shape small tiles. On both right wall & left wall edges of the shower tiles starting from the top of the walls, next to the ceiling, going down vertically all the way to the floor & then going around the parameter of the bathroom floor tiles were installed a line of edger tiles matching the shower wall tiles called bull nose tiles. I used these edgers instead of the usual wood trims. It gave the bathroom a luxurious marble look. How Good was Yu? Yu uses digital laser levels to provide exactly 90 degrees vertical walls. So basically, Yu used only a thin line of white grout to connect the gaps between the large tiles. The final product looked like solid walls of white marble with thin lines of blue & gold going through each tile. A slim runner made of small rectangular mosaic glass tiles going horizontally from one end to the other end of the shower smacked right in the middle of the walls. You can barely see the grout! The floor was the same but flat & without the gold lines. I also made Yu build a small wall of solid tiles 4' x 2' on one side of the shower front so the top of it could be used as a shelf to put shower stuff. I wanted to make sure that each wall both side & bottom runner, also floor tiles' slope line is tilted slightly so the water would not stagnate & flows towards the drain. Yu made it happen perfectly. We didn't know how perfect until the Glass & Mirror guys came over & measured with levels to build the shower doors & glass. They said you must have a great tile-man. They usually put 1 millimeter slope on wall tops & floors for the water to move downward but your tile-man put 2 millimeters! Yu's work is detailed tiling to the millimeter! Once again David delivered exactly what I desired ahead of the schedule. For interior remodeling & additions, KBB is my choice of contractor. They passed my perfectionist test. read more

We worked with Sai on our bathroom projects and him and his team did a decent job overall. Especially with the tiling. However they didn't contract licensed professionals to do specialized work such as plumbing. So under all that beautiful tile- which I've now noticed has been installed uneven in one of the bathrooms- the plumbing pipes are messed up and causing issues with water draining. The work was done less than a year ago and they claim their work is guaranteed and any repairs covered under contract. But this one is just too big of an issue to fix without tearing it all up so of course they're dodging accountability. If you want less expensive work done incorrectly then they're the ones for you. If it's a small job that doesn't involve more complex work such as plumbing and electrical then you'd probably be fine. Anything major I'd stick with actual professionals. Will save you in the end because cheaper now can end up more pricy down the road .... You get what you pay for. read more

When we decided to remodel our home, we were advised to get at least three bids. I'm so glad I used Yelp to find Khoi and his awesome crew. Everyone at KBB, including Elaine at the home office, wanted to help us get what we wanted ON TIME. I placed the last two words in shouty capitals because every friend I knew told me to be ready for a delay twice the time quoted. Let me tell you, Khoi was almost obsessed with being done before the deadline! The work we had done included removing the popcorn ceiling, lighting, kitchen, master bath (into my dream shower), powder room and flooring on the ground floor. I love the finished product and cannot believe this is the same home. Khoi was also always very responsive and stressed on us to do walkthroughs afterward to make sure things weren't left undone. The one or two things we saw were immediately fixed to our satisfaction. I highly recommend this company for anyone who feels overwhelmed by a very necessary remodel. Khoi and his team absolutely deserve a 5 star rating. We went through many iterations and choices on what we wanted, when we wanted the work done, etc and he was very patient with us and always straightforward & honest. Towards the end of the project, my wife and I listened to whatever Khoi's advice/suggestion was, he REALLY knows what he's doing and is very knowledgeable. Not only does Khoi handle the Project Management, he also shows up and busts his behind starting on Day 1 for demo! He told us the project was going to take about 4 weeks and it took exactly 4 weeks which was very nice since we've all heard the stories where the projects end up taking twice as long. His Carpenter (guy making the cabinets) was incredibly meticulous and his incredible workmanship is definitely appreciated daily in our BEAUTIFUL new kitchen. After a nightmare renovation in our last home, I was wary of remodeling our "new" home. We needed a completely new kitchen, three bathrooms, new flooring and a few additional projects completed. After meeting with three contractors, I decided to hire KBB. They have a small but nice showroom with friendly office staff, and gave us a CGI of what our kitchen could look like with our design choices. They were able to start in a fair amount of time. Since we were living in the home while renovations were being done, I think it was a little more challenging for the crew. Khoi was our contractor and when issues arose, he took care of them quickly. I also added new projects on the fly and they were able to accommodate my last minute ideas. I want to thank Jing and her hard working contractors for a job well done! Had most of my home remodeled spending between $80-90,000 for entire home taking about 2 1/2 months. We remodeled 2 bathrooms - one where a tub was converted into a standing shower, and also replaced the tile floors in our downstairs area. We are very happy with the results. If you are looking for a company and group of folks who are honest, you can trust to keep their word and work hard for you, then search no more. We had wanted for so long to remodel our dated and spacious kitchen. As our search for contractors began, our dreams were quickly shattered by a couple of well reputable companies, with good yelp reviews mind you who told us our dream kitchen would cost more than double our budget! Just when we were about to put our dream on hold again, we found Kitchen and Bath Beyond and they came to our rescue. Sai and Jing came up with a 3D design of what our kitchen was going to look like and never pressured us to spend more than we needed to. In fact, they gave us options on areas where we could save money on. What was more impressive was the fact that they gave us a very detailed Proposal that broke out all the costs. As an accountant, I was very pleased. Once demo began, an unexpected problem was discovered that we thought would derail the project. Our old kitchen faucet had been leaking water into the wall behind it and there was rotted wood and mold below the window sill. Sai and his team were able to take care of this problem for us as well, for a reasonable price. Once the remediation was done, Sai, and Jing put Owen to work on our dream kitchen. I must say that I have never seen a more hardworking guy than Owen. And boy is he a talented craftsman! He showed up on time every day and would work until almost 9pm on some nights and weekends. He was very respectful of our home at all times. During the work, if I ever had any questions, Sai and Jing would quickly answer them either by phone call, text, or email. They never once overpromised and under delivered. In fact, it was just the opposite. They gave us a beautiful dream kitchen that we never thought we could afford or get within our budget. We were able to get high end cabinets, countertops, and flooring. We pinch ourselves every day when we walk and see our kitchen. A true test that you have found a great company is when you recommend them to your family, which we did. My sister worked with Khoi to get countertops, that other contractors told her she couldn't afford. Back again for 2 projects! We had used KBB last year in early 2016 to remodel 2 bathrooms: a master and a guest bathroom. (Please see our earlier posting) This year, we were scheduled to do the kitchen and hardwood flooring in July at our primary residence, but also had to add our rental property master bathroom as well due to 30 years of wear and tear. Jing was accommodating and adjusted their schedule to accommodate the additional work. In working with Jing, we were able to come up with a design that would invigorate the bathroom. More so, we got an additional closet out of it as well. When the house was first built, there was a 'odd' room with an entrance under the vanity. Unless you were in good physical shape to get on your knees to crawl into this finished room (dry walled and carpeted) it was not very useful. We were able to add a door and make it into a walk-in closet. The thing that I like about KBB is that they are willing to explore options. The addition of the closet door for the new closet was no easy task due to the existing structure of the house, yet they made it work by customizing the door. The design also incorporated additional backer board and tiles to minimize the opportunity for water damage through the floor or walls. As for the kitchen, we asked for an open floor plan, more functionality, and more storage. They delivered with minimal modification to the original floor plan. More so, they were able to deliver despite the fact that the open space and storage requirements tend to be conflicting. On top of that, they were very mindful of our budget given the additional work we needed to do in the rental unit (as mentioned above.) Storage space was improved in several ways. We remedied the pantry space by having the angled wall reframed to a 90 degree edge. For the 2 'dead' corners of the bottom cabinetry, we installed lazy susans. We also added more storage space by installing longer top cabinets, and we extended the pantry and the storage over the refrigerator from 24 in to 27 in. The pull out pantry makes it much easier to access items, especially for a pantry this deep. We also added a pull out spice rack adjacent to the stove. As for the functionality, we add a seating area to the counter. The small wall that divided the kitchen from the dining room was removed. We extended the granite overhang an extra 10 inches to the dining room. In addition to modifying the wall for the pantry space, we also removed the sliding door and the wall diving the living room and kitchen. Though that wall had allowed us to place a hutch in the kitchen, the additional storage improvements allowed us to remove the hutch. It also gave us more breathing room for the kitchen table which always felt cramped. We thank KBB for excellent customer service!! We are extremely happy with how both projects turned out. We had gone through numerous modification and ideas with Jing prior to the start of the work. They are easy to work with and very patient with our numerous modifications and ideas during the design phases. And a special thanks to Xing who led both renovation efforts. Xing is very methodical in his work and does an amazing job. We have now done 4 projects with them and it is great to have a contractor we can trust and who delivers quality work. Completed a kitchen remodel with Kitchen and Bath Beyond about a month ago. It was a very frustrating experience once the actual work started. The finished product looks good, and for the price is good value. On the spectrum of product quality, theirs is mid-range, and we are happy with the results. But...... Our issue, as I stated, was that it was very frustrating once the project started. The cabinet guy came to our house and removed the old kitchen (demolition). Just as he was finishing the demolition, I was informed by Khoi (sales guy) that the quartz we had chosen for our counter top was not in stock, and we needed to chose a different one or wait a few weeks until they received their shipment. A well-run business should know whether or not they have all their supplies *before* demolition of the old kitchen. To make matters worse, this was after they had asked us to move our project up one week due to some sort of internal schedule problem they had. My wife and kids (2 toddlers) had gone out of town (10-hour drive) the day before demolition to visit grandma so she could have a functioning kitchen to feed them during construction. So there is no way I am picking a new counter top without wife's input. So we tell them we will wait for the counter top. Two or three weeks later, the counter top finally arrives and is installed. The guy that was supposed to set up the appliances and route a water line to the refrigerator did a total hack job (drilled a bunch of holes in the storage space in the cabinets rather than behind the kick plates, which is the small space between the floor and the bottom shelf). When I pointed out to him that he did it wrong, and then his boss subsequently told him to do it right, he got mad and walked off the job. To KBB's credit, Khoi hired someone from outside the company to finish the install properly, and then came and patched some of the holes. We were without a functioning kitchen for about a month. It was ridiculous. I wish I could give them 5 stars like everyone else. The kitchen turned out great, but we had too many problems to give them a higher rating. I at first gave them 2 stars, but after thinking about how prompt KBB was with trying to fix all the problems and genuinely wanting to make us happy, I updated the review to 3 stars. read more

Our kitchen came out beautiful! Khoi was a pleasure to work with and Owen the cabinet installer and general fix everything guy, along with Mike the tiler, did quality work with a smile. I have to say there were some bumps along the way but whenever I brought something to Khoi's attention he made it right right away. He gave design ideas that ended up being the right choices and kept things rolling on schedule. Our remodel was completed on time and on budget! If you go with KBB just remember that communication is key. Stay in touch with what's going on and who is doing what, when. Fantastic people and product! From the first moment of meeting Sai, Ting and Bo I felt confident that I was in good hands. The price was originally out of my budget but with tweaking from them by removing some cabinets and finding other options we found a price we could agree on. The 3D design helps you know what you are getting and approving! The product is good quality. I will say that I have had to call out a few issues to them (one piece of granite was different size than another, it wasn't fully sealed so water was soaking into the stone, the microwave slot was not big enough for what we sent measurements on, the soft closing was not put on to cabinets when it was part of the agreed proposal) but they quickly resolved all of these. I mean, they jumped onto the issues within a few hours - now that's good customer service. They are very personable and friendly. The main workers (who are their family) don't speak fluent English but you can easily communicate. I did find the main workers were yelling a lot at each other but I guess that's a family dynamic. Over two days of hearing them back and forth it actually became quite funny. BTW, Jing, Sai and Bo speak perfect English - so no worries of having any miscommunication with the workers. I also ordered flooring with them. Kitchen and floors - we did our own demo for kitchen to save on costs. We also installed our own floors. They don't have a lot of flooring options compared to other vendors but what they do have I liked and the price was great. If you want a company that treats you individually and wants to ensure your satisfaction then this is a great choice. Their prices are reasonable for kitchens - bathrooms we found to be more expensive but for kitchens this is it! I highly recommend their team and if you tell them you need something fixed they are on it. Very nice people and hard working. I wish them lots of success with their new business - they are building a good name for themselves so give them a try! read more

We hired KBB for our kitchen remodel. We purchased a large house that is basically a money pit. Everything in it is from 1979, including the kitchen of course. We had a tight budget because, money pit. The typical 3 quotes later and KBB had the best price and seemed to be the easiest to work with. The other contractors we talked to tried to tell us we needed to spend at least $10,000 more than our budget, which was out of the question. KBB was more than willing to work with us, helped us shave money off where we could and didn't judge us for it. Our budget for the kitchen, minus the appliances was $25,000. We were able to get it all done for around $23,000. We did the demo ourselves and the plumbing, that saved several hundred right there. Sure, I had to make some concessions beyond what I thought I could have. Couldn't remove a couple of walls because of course they are load bearing and we would need a structural engineer to come out and do that portion, so we scratched that, along with a few other things. We were dead set on keeping our budget. Jing helped us, she is so fast and concise. She worked up a 3D drawing for us, adding and subtracting things as we worked on the total. Anytime we had questions during the whole process they were quick to answer, usually same day. They have many options of cabinetry, counters, backsplash etc. We ended up with some beautiful cabinets and quartz counter top. I got my pull outs where I wanted, my spice drawer, wine rack etc. We look like we live in 2016 now, at least in the kitchen. Their workers are definitely some of the best. They show up on time or early. Our poor cabinet guy worked late most night for the whole week he was putting them in. One night he was here until 10pm, making sure we were on track and meeting our deadline. The counter top came in several days early, so all and all we were done early. They are very respectful and clean. I'd hire them in a heartbeat again, and honestly probably will because bathrooms are next. read more

After walking in wo an appointment, Khoi swung by to take a look at my old bathroom vanity, measured it, took into consideration my budget, and told me which cabinets were worth getting within my price range. I picked it out, the guys came and demoed the vanity, installed the new one, and wham bam done son! I wasnt asked a million questions by them if i was sure, if i was absolutely positive, if i wanted it a centimeter this way or that way. Bc quite frankly i dont care and i just need it done! I 100% recommend Kitchen and Bath Beyond. We recently used them for an entire kitchen remodel (whole kitchen and flooring removed to drywall, some parts to studs). It was a pleasure to work with Khoi (project manager/designer). Khoi initially came to our home to hear what we wanted and take measurements. He later emailed us 3D renderings of our new kitchen design. After a second meeting at our home we ironed out all of the design, including implementing many of Khoi's suggestions. Khoi went above and beyond our expectations, in particular, managing the little details of the project as they popped up. The most impressive aspect of Kitchen and Bath Beyond was the schedule. We hired KBB to do an upstairs bathroom remodel early in 2016. We worked with Sai and Jing at their office in Kearny Mesa to finalize our design, and with their 3D rendering software we were able to get a realistic picture of what the finished project would look like. During the design finalization it was clear that Sai was interested in getting us what we wanted at the lowest possible cost which we appreciated very much. KBB works directly with Bedrosians Tile which has two locations in San Diego, one on Miramar Rd. and the other in Vista. Shopping for and selecting tile at Bedosians was easy, and KBB picked up and transported our tile and all associated material to our house when the time came to start the work. Their schedule had our project starting 2-3 months out from when we finished our design, and they kept us updated and arrived to start the work within a few days of their original anticipated start date. They estimated the remodel work would take 2-3 weeks to complete and it ended up taking about 1.5 weeks. Their two workers who performed our remodel were Xing and Jack and they were both excellent craftsmen who paid great attention to the details of our project. Prior to starting they carefully protected our carpets and turned the bathroom into an enclosed work area so no dust would find its way into our adjacent bedroom. There was something of a language barrier with these two guys but Jack was able to handle just about all verbal communication that became necessary during the remodel and Jing or Sai were just a phone call away. I have been involved in many major remodels and I don't think I have ever seen contractors as responsive as those from KBB. Sai and/or Jing would drop in on our project frequently to monitor progress and give us updates, and they encouraged us to call them if we had any questions or if anything came up during the remodel. When we did call them they would get back to us within a few minutes if they weren't able to answer directly. All in all this was a very professional operation and we are very happy with the completed remodel which ended up matching remarkably well the drawings they produced during the design phase. We will definitely hire KBB for our next remodel project. read more

Master Yu is the best cabinet installer ever. He is so detail and professional. The quartz slab seams are done perfectly ! Hard to see or touch where those seams are.Fantastic job. Very hardworking team. Also Love the black handles, smooth surface, solid steel , very heavy duty. Price is only about 1/3 of San Diego Hardware handles. Not only they gave us a detailed estimates, they also did amazing 3D rendering of our kitchen! We went to get few quotes around town, and they beat them all! They gave us a detailed plan on what they were working and they got it done right, within 3 days! We worked with Khoi and he is the best! He kept us posted with things happening during the project. I'll start out by complimenting Khoi. He is very knowledgable on remodeling. He offered many ideas to us on our complete top-to-bottom kitchen redo; many of which we implemented in our design. Khoi responded to most of our many texts/calls immediately. I hate waiting for days to get a call back and usually can't remember by then why I originally called. He has the traits I look for when hiring an employee. KBB did a complete demo on our kitchen and built the cabinet replacements. KBB has a wide variety of countertops to choose from; including quartz, granite and marble. These materials came in many styles, colors and various grades of quality. The same goes for cabinet choices. So many styles and colors it makes one's head spin. Elaine runs a very efficient office. She too is knowledgeable and quick to respond to emails/calls. Once KBB completed the finish work the kitchen looked just as we had hoped, beautiful & more functional than the dinosaur that WAS our kitchen. read more

We wanted to remodel our kitchen. We got three quotes. One of them asked for 5 weeks (it's a small U shape kitchen) and lots of $. We looked at Yelp and found this company and read all the great reviews they had. Khoy came to our place, gave us a detailed estimate and a cool 3D design for the kitchen (every time we would think about giving up, we would look at that cool design he sent us). The price was great. We went to the little show room they have in Clairemont and pick the cabinets we wanted, the quartz, tile, etc. but in any moment they pressure you to get their stuff. Great workers, they did our kitchen in 2 weeks and every time I look at my kitchen I can't believe how beautiful it is. Now we are saving $ to have our bathrooms done by them as well. I wanted work done in two bathrooms. I needed the master bathroom/shower to be made more handicapped accessible. I did my research and called Kitchen and Bath Beyond as one of the contractors and called and spoke with Sai. It was a positive experience from that first call. He explained about the process of choosing a company to do remodeling and ways to make sure they are reputable and suggested I get at least three estimates. After doing some more research and interviewing other companies I called back, explained what I wanted done and we set up an appointment for Jing (Sai's wife) to come out to my home to measure and discuss what the work would entail. They absolutely listened to everything I said I wanted and also offered excellent suggestions and guidance when needed. I was upfront with them about my budget and they really worked with me on this. I was sent a detailed, written estimate via email and a 3-D rendering of the project. We had some questions I emailed back to them which they promptly responded to. As a matter of fact, through out the entire process both Sai and Jing quickly and patiently answered my (numerous) questions. Elaine, who works in the office, was also very helpful any time I called and either she got back to me promptly or got a message to Sai or Jing and they contacted me. After I had decided to go with Kitchen and Bath Beyond, I went to the showroom to meet in person with Jing and to choose the materials. Jing listened to what I wanted and helped me in making decisions as needed; she had some really good suggestions. It was nice to have everything there in one location and they had a good selection of materials to choose from. And she spent a lot of time with us (my sister-in-law went with me). Everything was put in writing; I was even given pictures of the fixtures I had chosen. During the remodel Sai and/or Jing would stop by frequently to check on the work performed, speak with me and ask if I had any questions. There were some changes I wanted made along the way which were incorporated into the job without any issue. I decided to change the type of shower door and it was expensive! Jing called a glass guy they work with and he (Eddie) made and installed the door at less than what Sai quoted me for them to do it. She didn't have to do this but it was typical of the great service and positive interactions I had through out. The worker(s) came on time each day and were hardworking and skilled. Everyone tried to make the dust, mess, noise and general inconvenience as tolerable as possible - but demolition and remodeling are messy jobs! Communication with the workers was limited because they spoke Chinese but this wasn't really a problem; they were able to let me know what time they would be coming the next day and, as I said, Sai or Jing were also in contact. If I had something I really needed to communicate with the worker (usually Zhang - very nice!) about I called the office and Elaine translated for me. The work was completed within the time frame Sai told me it would take (a week and a half). I love the way everything turned out and have gotten compliments on it! I think the workmanship and materials are top notch. They also made what could be very stressful a positive experience. I highly recommend Kitchen and Bath Beyond and would not hesitate to use them again (I'd love to have my outdated and handicapped "unfriendly" kitchen remodeled!). read more
