02/13/2026 Ben continues to say their "inspection" found no active leak and claims the water must be coming from an exterior outlet or prior waterproofing. Based on that storyline, they're refusing to take responsibility for the flooring damage. The windows were installed without permits. I brought in four independent inspections, including three licensed general contractors and one home inspector. All confirmed active water intrusion and pointed to the window installation as the likely source. Despite that, Forever Builders continues to deny, redirect, and avoid addressing the actual installation. The floors never had water intrusion before the remodel. The problem started after their work. Instead of owning it and fixing it, they've chosen to argue technicalities and wait for CSLB to force the issue. For a company that promotes itself as 5-star, this has been anything but. When serious defects surface, there's no urgency, no accountability, and no effort to stand behind the work. Just excuses. That is not 5-star service. That is not what integrity looks like. read more

We bought a house 2 years ago and the sellers had some pretty eccentric taste (see photos). We wanted to modernize the primary bathroom, and got 4 quotes from various contractors. We went with Forever Builders, who also did some demo for us when we first moved in. Among other things, we 1) stripped and replaced the floor, 2) demoed the built-in tub and replaced it with a soaking tub, 3) replaced the vanity countertops, 4) installed a chandelier and sconces, and 5) installed a custom shower door. Steve was our project manager for the entire project, which took 3-4 weeks. We are so incredibly pleased with the result, and just as happy with the service and professionalism we received from Steve and his team. Steve managed every aspect of this complex project flawlessly, stopped by frequently to check progress and QC each phase of work, and was consistently responsive and professional. He took my calls on nights and weekends, and I always felt taken care of and valued as an important customer--such a rare occurrence these days. The craftsmanship was flawless too. I am a detail-oriented person and tend to demand perfection, and Forever Builders exceeded my expectations. As a bonus, they also installed a floating vanity for me in a secondary bathroom, as a complimentary part of the project. Since then, I have also asked Steve and Forever Builders to patch up a huge portion of ceiling drywall at my mom's house that was screwed up by another company, and they did an amazing job with that as well. Alex and the assigned contractors did an excellent job with the demo of my old roof and installation of my new roof. The team came out and tarpped the old roof to prevent further damage until the rain stopped and the old roof could be replaced. They did an excellent job with installing the new roof. I needed additional, repairs to the drywall inside my home and the assigned contractors did an excellent job with the replacement and painting of the new drywall. My husband and I purchased our home during the pandemic and it definitely needed updates to the original 1960s kitchen. We shopped around for a few contractors and decided on Forever Builders because of their 5 star reviews and reasonable bid for the project (they were the middle price for 4 bids we got) We met with Shai in February/March 2022 after finding out we were going to be parents. Shai was very personable, thorough, and had lots of examples of past and current projects that they had going on. We decided to proceed with them because he was very up front with us on timing and the process. Since we were removing a load bearing wall, Shai referred us to an architect who had to draw up the plans to apply for a permit from City of La Mesa. When our permit was finally approved, and we were ready to start we had to hire someone for asbestos testing, and then someone else for Asbestos abatement/demolition before Forever Builders work could start. From start to finish, (asbestos abatement/start of demolition to completion of kitchen), the whole process took about 7 weeks ( January- March). Shai was very helpful throughout the process, but his project manager Dean was amazing. Dean coordinated all the work, kept us updated every day, and worked hard to get the kitchen completed in a timely fashion so that we could move back in to our house with our new baby and return to work. As with all projects, there are oversights and sometimes there are miscommunications. We had a couple, but Shai and Dean did their best to make up for it and make sure that we were happy customers. Their dedication to customer service can't be matched and I would recommend them to anyone looking to have work done on their home. I found Forever Builders on yelp and had them come out to remodel my duplex. My project manager, Shai, came out and gave me a quote and agreed to start on the project within 2 weeks. He stated that his crew would pick up materials if we placed the order for pick up. He stated that this was a service that they would provide at no additional cost. They "required" asbestos testing based before commencing which was an additional expense. He referred me to San Diego Marble and tile for the finish materials however we found them to be too pricey even with the discount. The crew started work and was on pace to finish a complete home remodel for both units within 3 months combined. We communicated with the contractor for the project named Mike. He wasn't thrilled with the pickups from Home Depot and Lowes. At the end of the project, we ended up compensating him for the pickups. We had bought farmhouse sinks for the vacation rentals, he replied incredulously, "for these units?" When we went to inspect the project, we found that the farm house sinks were installed incorrectly. There was no apron bulge, rather they were installed flush with the cabinets. He insisted that that they were put in right but had no response for the gaps between the adjacent cabinets and the sink. It looked terrible and there was no acknowledgement of error. We would have appreciated more accountability from this company and no one would accuse us of have an incredible experience with the contractor. The work pace is above the industry standard. Forever Builders is a great value for your money. They are accommodating, will work you, fix any of their mistakes, and want to make the customer happy. We interviewed 5 different contractors and received quotes from 4 of them. We did not entertain a quote from Murray Lampert because the initial amount and time of completion was so far beyond any of the other quotes that we told the salesperson not to bother. The other contractors all had solid reviews on Yelp, Google, and Home advisor. One of the contractors (Lumina Builders) was a company we used for a large master remodel that did a fantastic job and we were actually very partial to them, but their quote was $20k higher than Forever Builders. At the end, we went with Forever Builders because their price and reviews. As I said before, Forever Builders provides a good value for your money. They were very accommodating, they did whatever it took to make us happy, they did not walk away from the job until we were happy, and the finished product looks great. Their crew lead (Rigo) is awesome! He is very attentive, does high quality work, and wants to make customers happy. Here are some of the things that were not so great. They are certainly not a design company. They have a drafting company for the layout, but they are not a company that take all aspects of design in account to give an accurate design For example, they installed upper cabinets too close to the vent on one side. I had to point it out to them and they fixed it. Again, should have been something they noticed right away and took into account on their design. Next, we had canned lights moved or eliminated and their drywall patching did not match so they ended up texturing half of the ceiling to make it look even. There were mistakes made through carelessness that needed to be fixed but could have been avoided. If we could do it all over again, we would have researched the cabinet options more rather than going with the standard option. The cabinets we got through Forever Builders were the standard cabinets Forever Builders builders purchases from Khadi Stone and they are a standard RTA cabinet. We've had three different contractors do different projects over the last few years. A large master bathroom remodel, our kids bathroom, and the recent kitchen project. I would rate Forever Builders the second best contractor we've used. They don't have all the flashy "overhead" like a showroom that they have to account for in their pricing so you get the most "bang for your buck." read more

History/Before-Forever Builders: I will preface this by saying that in the past, I had so many bad experiences when hiring contractors and construction professionals. I've had vendors run away after paying them deposits and losing thousands, I've had GCs stop paying their subs, and all sorts of things. Now, my patio roof on top of the garage had to be replaced because it was leaking. It is also a rental. On top of that, I had to hire someone while living across the country. I was worried about getting ripped off as I have in the past. I entertained many bids and methods for solving my issue but they didn't make sense. I've also hired others to fix this issue in the two previous years. Those fixes did not hold. Now With Forever Builders: My contractor Alex, I honestly can't say enough good things about him. He thoroughly inspected the premises and came up with a cost-effective solution for the flat roof. From the beginning, you can tell that he takes his job seriously and wants the best for his customers. He knew I was burned in the past and tried to assure me that everything will work out. The contract was straightforward forward and he assured me it is reasonably priced out for the job. I brought up my fear of having one price, and then it ballooning after the project starts. That never happened. Alex called and sent me a video every day with a status update. Many of those days he called me twice, or even three times. He made sure that I was involved the whole time. I could also tell he was hands on with the people doing the work. The job was supposed to last 5 days and they finished in about 4. In fact, they finished early even though my roof took longer to demo as the concrete was very thick (why someone built a garage with concrete on top from the beginning, who knows). The crew was there in the morning and worked throughout the day. I also appreciated that they did not cause any disruption or inconvenience to my tenants. I interviewed five different contractors before I decided to go with Forever Builders to remodel my master bedroom and bathroom. All of the other companies had 5-star reviews. The reason I went with Forever Builders is because I was extremely impressed by their project manager Mati. He was very knowledgeable about the work that needed to be done, took the time to answer all of my questions about the project in great detail, and most important I could tell he was someone I could work with on a daily basis for the next two months. I made the right decision. Mati is a friendly, easygoing guy, who puts his customers first. I always felt like I could approach him about anything. Every time I had a concern, he addressed the issue immediately and stayed in constant contact with me throughout the project. He stopped by almost every day to make sure everything was on schedule and that his workers were doing a good job. He also sent me a text at the end of the day to let me know when his workers would show up the following day and what they were going to do. There were never any surprises. A great football team has to have an outstanding quarterback to win a championship. Mati is the quarterback at Forever Builders who works really hard to make sure your project turns out exactly the way you want it. Every single person who worked on my project including the plumber, the painter, the electrician, the tile setter, and the flooring specialist were all friendly, knowledgeable, highly skilled, and extremely professional. They were all perfectionists and believe me it showed in their work. Even the man who did the hot mop procedure on my shower floor stopped working when he discovered a problem with my drain. He didn't install it and he didn't have to stop doing what he was doing, but he was concerned about what might happen down the road (for me the customer) if the drain didn't work properly. He told Mati about the issue and a new drain was installed immediately. All of the workers went the extra mile, and you really can't ask for more than that. Another advantage of Forever Builders is they have an in-house design team. I started looking for tile and flooring before I met with them. I had an idea of what I wanted to do but it was difficult for me to make a final decision because I know absolutely nothing about design. When you're spending a lot of money you want it to look right. When the Forever Builders designer saw the tile I had selected she said she had already seen one of my samples installed on a shower wall and said it looked incredible. That's all I needed to hear to go ahead with that tile and specific design. The shower and entire bathroom ended up turning out great. Forever Builders did a great job remodeling my home but be prepared to get involved in your project too. Halfway through my remodel I was told the bathroom vanity I ordered was no longer in stock and the company couldn't deliver it until two months after the project was supposed to be completed. That wasn't going to work, so I had to figure out what to do. I went online to find a company in San Diego that could build a vanity for me in two weeks. I reached out to Wholesale Cabinets in San Diego, and they made it happen. I ended up getting a great custom vanity that looked sensational, and I was able to keep my project on time. Mati was our project manager and Victor was our subcontractor we dealt with the most. We enjoyed working with Mati, he is a good person first and foremost and he always aimed to be on top of everything and get everything on schedule. We had random hiccups here and there (but this we expected), and we judge a contractor on how they deal with the hiccups. Mati was a good communicator and always worked with what we wanted and found a solution. He was on site just about every day and was present and available. We would hire Mati again! Victor was also very pleasant to work with, he was a very good communicator and was also on top of everything and knew his stuff. Our bathroom had a 1970's vibe so we needed an upgrade. The build involved knocking down a wall separating a closet from bathroom, making the bathroom a little bit bigger, and renovating both rooms. Our design process was a back and forth with Enam (she was an affiliate and this cost money) which involved us sharing the aesthetics we liked and Enam coming back with renderings. Once we got to a place where we liked the renderings, we had meetings with Carpeteria to get the invoice for materials. ForeverBuilders has guiderails for the design process, but it is very much on the client to have the materials and the vision ready for the contractors to build out. The more prepared and thorough and detailed you are with what you want, the easier the buildout process will be. We got stuck in permit hell for a little bit (this is obviously nobody's fault), but once we got started on calendar everything moved smoothly and the job was completed in just under 7 weeks (the quote was 6 to 8) and we also came in at the low end of our very wide estimate range so that was nice (our quote process involved bids that needed a wide range). My wife and I are pleased with the final outcome and we would recommend ForeverBuilders and specifically Mati and Victor. They were great. Recently got a job completed by Alex & team on a newly purchased home that we wanted to customize exactly to our liking. We are extremely pleased with the finals results. Forever Builders were quick to initially respond to our quote requests and sent a project manager for in person consultation. After signing the scope, we scheduled a meeting where he helped us choose finishing materials that fit our vision. He also introduced us to Natalie, from Carpeteria, who helped provide design input and place orders. Given quarantine and the influx of homeowners pursuing home remodels, we ran into many hiccups finding material that suppliers had in stock. But Natalie was in constant communication with us and Alex to ensure we got what we needed at the times needed. We had the existing luxury vinyl planks and kitchen backsplash replaced (for a different aesthetic), painted all the interior walls, kitchen island painted, and complete bathroom remodel (to include tub to walk in shower conversion). During the whole process Alex was in constant communication with us. If we ever noticed anything of concern, he was also quick to get back to us. His scheduled task crew always showed up on time wearing masks. The schedule didn't go perfectly, which was expected due to unknowns such as behind the wall discoveries and therefore wasn't completed to the optimized finish date. Alex and the team at Forever Builders did an excellent job repairing and replacing our roof. It was a complicated job (historical property, very steep grade) and they rose to each challenge presented professionally and proactively. The front office / admin team were great, the construction teams were friendly, respectful and tidy, and Alex was communicative and responsible throughout the entire relationship. But, the thing that meant the most to us was how they handled the tropical storm San Diego faced last August. Heading into an unprecedented weather event with a hole in your roof was naturally very nerve wracking and Alex went above and beyond, bringing a crew out before work had even commenced, to place a tarp so we had a least one layer of protection.
