They quoted me $28,000 for the small kitchen renovation I want when other contractors quoted me less than $10,000. Don't trust them to give you a fair price. Bar also treated me like I didn't know anything and kept asking me if there was another decision maker in the house (I told him several times it was my decision alone). He talked down to me and tried to convince me not to do my kitchen remodel because it's being done out of necessity (I broke my oven door) despite me saying I've hated this kitchen since I moved in over 5 years ago. Edit to owner: I told Bar multiple times I am the only decision maker and he kept questioning me. I also told him 3 times this project is something I've been wanting for over 5 years and was going to be a next year project, which got moved up by me breaking my oven door. I knew what I wanted and shared that with Bar. There's no reason he should have been trying to convince me to get things I explicitly said I did NOT want. That's not listening to your potential customers. I had consultations from 5 contractors and D&L is the only one that quoted me over $10,000 for the same scope of work. It doesn't matter that it was split between 2 quotes because it was still $18,000 more than every other contractor ($14,000 for adding new countertop, sink, oven (not including material) and $14,000 to sand and restain cabinets and drawers). My consultation with D&L is also the only one where I didn't feel like I was being listened to despite repeating myself multiple times. Reached out to them for a quote and sent pictures. Gonen replied back and I sent him some pictures of the job. He asked if I was working with insurance and I said Yes. He replied and said they don't deal with insurance and have a nice day goodbye. Which is funny because insurance already gave me a cash payment to find the contractor and they would not need deal with the insurance company at all! I already did that part. So after talking himself out of the job, I just let him know that he wasn't going to be dealing with the insurance company in the first place. He then replied that actually, the job was too small for them. Just a very strange interaction. If it was too small why didnt he say so upfront. They have literally just made up a lie saying they told me my work estimate was too small (how could that have been communicated when the last thing they ever sent me was that they would send over an estimate later that day??? And apparently Oded had an urgent matter come up and they claim "as you may be aware". Noooooo I am not. Because my whole review is about the fact that there was no communication from them!!! This is not okay. You cannot and will not bully me. My review is based on truths and my experience. I had one of the owners (Oden?) come out to help plan my new kitchen. I told them I had already gotten cabinets from Ikea and needed demo, new floors, windows replaced and painting. He told me about how they make their own cabinets. But after he left I found out it would be too chaotic to return all 112 packages of cabinets I had received. He said he'd send me an estimate later that day with the personalized cabinets included in the quote.. I called and said I don't need cabinets but just need the other work done. 2 weeks later and I still haven't received my quote. I bet if I had ordered his cabinets Id would've gotten the quote.
