Upper Management Change Jan 2025, License subject to cancelation after 4/2/25, Poor quality workmanship and even worse customer service. The company under this new upper management only cares about collecting their payments, not about quality work and customer service. PLEASE GO SOMEWHERE ELSE IF YOU WANT TO HAVE A GOOD EXPERIENCE AND BE HAPPY WITH YOUR KITCHEN!!! I contracted with them to reface my kitchen, and I have the following issues: * The cabinets do not match the bases. They even agreed with me and asked me for a paint bid, but then decided that they do match. * The laminate on the bases is already delaminating and it hasn't been a year, in some cases hasn't even been a month * Poor quality parts were knowingly used for warranty work, which resulted in them telling me they would need to come back before they ever even finished. At this point, I think the poor quality workmanship and use of broken materials is intentional. Additionally, they make it very difficult to get work done in the afternoon, as they state they only work until noon. We hired Pacific Kitchen to remodel our 32 year old kitchen in Rancho Penasquitos. The kitchen had the boring very lightly stained oak cabinets and 4 inch white tile counters that were popular with local developers in 1993. We worked with Keith at Pacific to select refacing with lightly stained cherry cabinets, and quartzite counters and backsplashes. With Keith and Tom's assistance, we also changed a lot of existing shelving behind doors into either drawers or pullouts. Glenn did all the cabinetry work, DAL Tile provided the quartzite slabs, and Ghiloni Granite and Tile did the counter/backsplash cutting and installation. All the work done on the cabinets and counters was top notch. They maintained the schedule that they originally gave us, and delivered what they promised. We are thrilled with the way the project turned out, and for a lot less money than if we had gone for full kitchen cabinet replacement. We decided that refacing our cabinets would give us the result we wanted IF we could get the job done well. Fortunately we contacted PK for a quote. Keith made a number of excellent suggestions and when Tom came out to measure he made a few more -- including how to correct the corner cabinets and drawers from colliding, as well as cosmetic issues for uniform spacing. Every one we have met and worked with has been friendly, knowledgable, very intent on providing good service and quality products. They definitely stand behind their work. Our kitchen was done 10 years ago and every cabinet and drawer still looks like new and is functional. They have (or did have ) a 10 year warranty which we only needed twice to align a couple cupboard doors. This week one of the hinges needed replacing. As our 10 years are up, we expected to pay but when we stopped in to get the hinge, there was no charge. Beats Home Builders any day! read more

I can't believe that I didn't write a review back when we did our cabinets (although, I am finding a lot of my Yelp reviews disappearing.. grumbles). Better now than never. We just had Rick stop by again to do a quick touch up on our cabinets. He came on time (if not a little early); he was extremely quick and efficient; and he is just such a super friendly guy. After he left, my husband and I couldn't help but chat about how AMAZING Pacific Kitchens, Inc. is. We purchased our home a few years back as newly weds.. we had a ton of work done throughout because the prior owner was ready to move and stopped caring about home maintenance. We learned that it is VERY hard to find good contractors. Out of all the repairs and contractors we encountered, Pacific Kitchens definitely was THE best. They were clean, respectful, polite, and timely. They gave extreme quality of work and craftsmanship. They also were very creative with the designs by adding pull outs to our cabinets, creating extra cabinetry where there was a weird gap in the counters in the kitchen, and just giving me a lot of storage space. They also were knowledgeable to recognize our original cabinets contained good solid wood, so all we needed to do was reface the fronts. We LOVE our cabinets. We love the guys at Pacific Kitchens -- everyone from the Office Manager who answers the phones and sets appts, to the folks who come out. I wish all other home repair and contracting companies would model after these guys. (can you tell we just had another amazing appt that I'm so thrilled to write this?) HIGHLY recommended. Filled out the online form after finding them through a web search. They called the next day and the lady was very pleasant and communicative. We scheduled an appointment for Friday at 10:30. It is now Friday at 11:11, no one has shown up or called. I will not be using their service, because I value my time. I tried to call to let them know that if the technician was on the way, they could just tell him not to come, but the phone number isn't even working properly. Disappointing to say the least - I was excited about revamping my kitchen. Edit: The nice lady called and left a message around 1pm. The technician had never showed up. She apologized profusely and very politely indicating there had been some kind of miscommunication between her and the technician. She indicated the company would be willing to try to make it right should I choose to give them another chance. I will update my review to 2 stars from 1 star, and may update again if I choose to try again with their service. read more

We had our kitchen done last month with white cabinets and a beautiful granite. Overall I was happy but would have to say the finishing touches were not exactly what I expected. An example would be the seems on the white cabinets which reflected a slight black line that isn't seamless. However, I was able to touch this up with a little white paint and it's no longer noticeable. The roll out drawers are great however not lamented completely which leaves raw wood. I am planning on laminating or painting this next month. It would be a good idea to negotiate this when your finalizing your contract. As far as the team, Mary Lou, Tom and Shane were great!!!! They all went out of their way to make me satisfied with the final result. Shane whom did the majority of work was polite and sensitive to my family at all times during the duration of his job. Shane and Tom excepted a few changes I had and did them with no questions. In regards to the granite, that process was seamless and completely handled by the team. The company they used were very tentative to my needs. I love the ending result! All in all I am very happy and love my new kitchen!!! I would highly recommend this company to anyone. We contracted with Pacific Kitchens for a refacing project. Salesman said 5-10 days to complete. 8 weeks later the job was 95% complete. The quality of our single worker was great. He was neat, clean and detail oriented. Besides everything being packed, we still had limited access to our kitchen everyday. Our kitchen was original builders basic 1995 oak cabinets with tile countertops. While we were happy with the layout, we needed a fresh look. After talking with several remodelers we picked these guys and a reface instead of full remodel as the best combination of budget, quality, customer ratings, and schedule. We were not dissappointed. We picked the supplier and type of countertop, and quality wood doors, hardware, and finish. Work was done by Rob over a period of over 3 weeks. He was very skilled, hardworking and flexible. He controlled dirt and dust, and did a good job of preparation and site cleanup. We bought all the appliances and they installed them. We also had to get a tile guy to do the backsplash because they only did 6 inch and we wanted full. We also had a finish painter do the walls and the cabinet inside rims. I will NEVER RECOMMEND this company, not even to my enemies. Last year we hired Pacific Kitchens to reface our old cabinets, construct a few new cabinets, and install new counter tops. Instead of a new updated kitchen I have a poor quality disaster. Here is what went wrong... The first person they sent to work on our kitchen was working his last week with the company. Needless to say he had no motivation or respect for the work he was doing. 90% of the seams were visible, several of the custom cabinet drawers were difficult to open, refacing material started to peel off within days, cabinets were not level enough to install counters, and the trim was not aligned and had several gaps. This was brought to the attention of Pacific Kitchens and they attempted to send a new installer out to fix the errors. Although the new installer was nice and far more skilled than the previous one, he wasn't a miracle worker. He stated to us that he had never seen work as sloppy as what he was trying to fix. At this point Pacific Kitchens began rushing the new installer because the job was taking too long and they refused to redo the entire kitchen and only allowed him time to fix major mistakes such as the peeling reface material and a fill some of the seams. Another issue we had was that they failed to match the interior of the new cabinets to the old cabinets as promised. When this was brought up they said they would fix it. Unfortunately, when I came home to review the "fix", I found a new installer using a spray can of Killz Primer to try and match the white interiors. I couldn't believe it! When it came time for the counter to be put in, the company responsible for the install refused to do the work because the cabinets were not level. This was fixed, counters were installed, but now my counter top is starting to crack. There is so much more I could say about what went wrong with the project, but this review would end up being the length of a novel. Overall, the lack of consideration, terrible customer care, and lack of accountability for service has left me disheartened. I know that we should have asked for our money back, but after a 3-4 day job turned into about 3 1/2 weeks and the ever present poor attitude from Pacific Kitchens, we just wanted them out of our house and our lives. read more

Very poor follow up and customer service ! We had refacing done many years ago from Pacific and the work was good. Needing some remedial work done, Tom came to the house to appraise the job. I asked him when the estimate would be ready. He said "next week". After 2 weeks, nothing. When I called asking why I didn't hear from him, he blamed the estimate being stuck on another person's desk. I finally got it later that week, but was really put off by this attitude of "whenever" vs when he told me he'd have it. I'm thinking, "Do I really want to do business with these people who can't even be reliable on an estimate timetable? Doesn't giving a customer an estimate help create business for them? Do they care?" Six weeks later - time having smoothed out my earlier frustration - I called Tom asking for the quote again. ( I couldn't find my notes from before. They never email a quote, in fact, don't do email at all, and don't furnish a hard copy.) He said he would have to look for it and call me back. I asked when I could expect his call. He said, "tomorrow". Well - do you see a trend here? - tomorrow stretched out to the next week. 6 days later he still hadn't called back!! I had to try to call him again, and then again the following day. Enough is enough! Is their business really that good that you can irritate repeat, or any customers for that matter? On returning phone calls??? Not once, but twice, and then again ! Carbon copy crummy customer service!!! Thinking the owner might want to know, I spoke to Jeff to express my frustration. While he was apologetic, he blamed his own vacation for overloading Tom - thus blaming himself! To me, this is how poor customer service behavior is enabled. Sorry - doesn't fly - especially the second time around. I'll find another company that acts like they want my business. read more

They just worked it out. I wish these people worked on all parts of the house. If I could hire them for every single job, I would be ecstatic. I would 150% hire them again. Their schedule tends to be a bit booked, but it's totally worth waiting a month or two to get someone who will do quality work in the amount of time they promise for the amount of money they promise. read more

They just completed refacing my kitchen cabinets. I'm so pleased with the results. Sean was the installer and he does beautiful work, stays on schedule and keeps a very tidy workspace. All the work is done on site so there's quite a bit of dust. Sean enclosed the kitchen area with a plastic "drape" to contain most of the dust. He also left a huge roll of plastic for anything else I wanted to cover. Watching his progress day by day, I was surprised at how much detail was involved. Everything right down to the trim and caulking was done first rate. Sean just finished this past Saturday and before noon today (Monday), Tom called to make sure all went well, and that I was happy with the results. It would be nice if they had more "customer friendly" hours but that's a minor point. My overall experience was not satisfactory. There were two things that did not go well for my job. 1. The countertop I ordered was wrong in shape. 2. When I brought it to their attention, the owners decided to make up for the mistake with a nominal gift card to a chain restaurant. Now, the countertop in question cost me $3800, it was not shaped right, they were squared when they should have been curved...something that I have to look at everyday now knowing it is not correct and a $25 gift card is your answer? Not even close to in showing me that I am a valued customer. This whole thing sucks because up to the installation of the countertops my experience was solid, my cabinets look well enough and the person that made the mistake on the planning the countertop was forthright and honest. They are not the problem....the Owners are. They ruined my experience. I spent $15000 with them and since they messed up I got a $25 gift card? Thanks for nothing. Also, just so you know PK contracts out the countertop to another company so their standards may not be up to par. The guys who installed at my place were grinding the granite in my house without covering up my furniture/computer/appliances. A layer of fine dust throughout my house was the result.
