We've done two projects with them, both of which came out great. They did high end work in our library, building custom bookshelves with great detail work. They've also done 3 bathrooms for us, and if there's anything that's not right they come out and make sure that you're satisfied. read more

Having hosted the HGTV program "My House is Your House", we've worked with and vetted a lot of cabinet builders around San Diego and Southern California. I cannot stress enough how much of a mistake it was to choose San Diego Custom Cabinets for our kitchen cabinets on an Encinitas project. The workmanship is absolutely appalling (bad). The cabinets started showing signs of wear and tear within just a year. Some panels (dishwasher) corroded and started peeling. The gaps between panels were uneven and unsightly at time of build but especially over time became worse, and to top it all off, the cabinets have actually changed color over time, going from a dark brown (walnut) to a tiger orange. It's obvious all materials were of the cheapest and lowest quality, but beyond that the company's response to these issues was to push back and simply state the warranty period had expired. I should add, it was not only the faces of the cabinets that failed miserably, but the boxes were poorly constructed, including cheap/failing hardware (like the trash pull out which constantly fails (hardware becomes loose and needs to be manually tightened monthly). At this point, we've had no choice but to demolish the entire cabinetry system. We have incurred massive costs (since prices have dramatically changed) and our clients are displaced during this demo period. I'm beyond disappointed with this purchase and this company and would strongly advise anyone considering this company to look elsewhere. As a company and brand, we will not be working with SD Custom Cabinets in the future. We will not be endorsing them. And if actual or prospective clients ask for our vote of confidence or recommendation, we will point them to this review. read more

We just completed a total remodel of our Condo in Pacific Beach and want to give our review of San Diego Custom Cabinets. To start with, our project was probably one of the smaller projects they worked on, but they treated us with upmost respect and attention. Shannon sketched out our "wants" and "needs" and met all our objectives. Craig and Daniel coordinated the build and delivered on the day scheduled. And the 'bear' singlehandedly installed all the kitchen cabinets and the bathroom vanity with great accuracy and attention to detail. We want to thank everyone at SDCC for our beautiful new kitchen and bath and highly recommend their products and team. All at a fair price. Sincerely, Trudy and Lee read more

I interviewed four different cabinet builders before settling on San Diego Custom Cabinets. They were so much more responsive and flexible than any of the other companies I spoke with. I'd never had custom cabinetry installed before, and I wanted to create a very functional office out of my second bedroom. Shanon came out and gave me great ideas, and was so thoughtful with every one of my novice questions. He was super communicative about timelines, which really helped. They made sure the project worked really well, by staging all the materials in advance. Then, I was blown away by one man, Craig, installing all the cabinetry and desk units. It was extraordinary to watch him work, especially solo. We had a small glitch in the project, and the whole team was really responsive and helpful. I absolutely love the finished product! Thanks to the entire team who made this possible, including the folks I didn't get to meet who built this. Great experience all around!! read more

Was referred to Nick for our whole house remodel (kitchen, bathrooms, builtins, hallways). We were very happy with the quality of the work, the price, and the service. Susan helped us with design and walked us through everything. We did practically every room in the home and the one room we didn't do we asked them to come back to add built-ins because it looked so good. The process was not perfect and there were some hiccups along the way, but they dealt with it the right way and made us happy. That's when it really matters at the end of the day, because it's never going to be perfect. Having production so close by also helps so that when you have to audible and make changes, they can actually happen in real time and your project does not get majorly delayed. We would use them again (and we already have). read more

San Diego Custom Cabinets designed and installed cabinets in our kitchen, bar, bathrooms, office and hallway. Christine was a dream to work with. She was very experienced, knowledgeable and creative. She walked us through every step of the process, spending time to understand our space and helping us come up with ideas to make the most of our cabinetry, and provided us with several samples to ensure the stain and paint choices were perfect. At one point, she even coordinated directly with our contractor as needed to ensure that the measurements were correct to the nearest 1/8th of an inch to accommodate our windows and countertops. The installers were professional, and the end product was what we had hoped for. We had a wonderful experience working with SDCC and would highly recommend them to anybody looking for custom cabinetry! read more

I am extremely happy with my experience with San Diego Custom Cabinets (SDCC). I definitely made the right choice in picking SDCC for my kitchen remodel. We have now used San Diego Custom Cabinets in almost every one of our rooms! We worked with them on our kitchen, 5 bathrooms, laundry room, library/master bedroom built-ins and office cabinets. We decided not to use a designer or contractor and organized everything ourselves, so it was important for us to have knowledgeable, responsive and high-quality vendors to help us. Nick and his team are top notch! I showed them pictures of what I wanted and they helped us with style, design, layout and cabinet colors. They had great ideas and were patient with me until we got it just right! We love the final product and get compliments on our cabinets all the time! read more

We did a total remodel of our Master Bathroom, Laundry Room and added extra linen storage in an upstairs hallway. We are thrilled with the end result. They were responsive and all reps who came to our home to install/measure/do final adjustments were pleasant, informative and paid great attention to detail. Susan was extremely helpful with design and functionality especially with some small/awkward spaces. The quality of the work and design is excellent. We will definitely be calling them for future projects. read more

We did a complete remodel and needed cabinets. Our friends used SDCC a few years ago so we called them (among other companies). Craig gave me an initial estimate based on the size of our kitchen. The estimate was reasonable and we liked the quality/choices that came with custom. My husband and I spent a few hours in the showroom with Shanon and in the end our cabinets cost less than the original estimate (and we added all the bells and whistles--they said the estimate assumed we would). I loved that they didn't low ball the estimate to get us in the door. The cabinets were installed last week and we couldn't be happier with them. Installation was easy, the team was clean, and they look great! My dad came over this weekend and commented on the high quality workmanship. We would definitely recommend them! read more

A couple of months ago we did a complete renovation on our kitchen. Needless to say this is a stressful process. We did a lot of research to find the right company to do our cabinets and finally decided to go with San Diego Custom Cabinets. They definitely were not the least expensive and not the most expensive but somewhere in the middle. We didn't want to go to cheap because we have heard some horror stories on the quality of cabinets. Needless to say you get what you pay for and 100% glad we chose San Diego Custom Cabinets. We went with 70% black cabinets and 30% white cabinets and they exceeded our expectations. We would definitely recommend if you are looking to get some great quality cabinets. read more

I just had San Diego custom cabinets build my kitchen, entertainment center and walk-in closet. Stephanie was very honest and he'd a really great design ideas for us. I just completed a kitchen renovation with SDCC providing cabinetry. The initial process with Rob was easy. Cabinets were delivered on time, installed beautifully and I had no punch issues. I am so pleased with my new kitchen cabinets and the work SDCC provided. I highly recommend SDCC read more

Ray came out for in home consultation today. He was on time, professional, and very courteous. The entire team at San Diego Custom Cabinets, from designers, fabricators, installers, and finish carpenters left us with a STUNNING, and beautiful kitchen! The bid was so competitive, and reasonable that we were skeptical that the product would underwhelm us. We could not have more wrong. As an amateur woodworker, I have an eye for quality hardware, material, and building techniques . They delivered in all areas! And one of the most important things, customer service. When things were not perfect, they made sure that it was made right and didn't quit until we were totally satisfied. The owner of the company even took a personal interest in our project to make sure we were happy. You couldn't do better than letting them build you a "magazine worthy" kitchen. We worked with San Diego Custom Cabinets for our fireplace surround and built-ins, and bathroom vanity. Nick was the person we met with initially for design and measurements. He's very knowledgable and was helpful to us in figuring out what we needed for our space. He communicated often during the building process with updates and timeframe. The bulk of the cabinetry was built in their workshop so installation was easy. His team was so pleasant and professional and made sure everything was done perfectly. I have been around contractors and construction workers my entire life as my father owns a construction company in the Midwest. When it was time to remodel my kitchen I knew I wouldn't settle for anything but the best. I acted as the general contractor; therefore, I interviewed several cabinet manufactures and installers in San Diego. Nick was by far the best contractor I worked with on my remodel and truthfully any contractor I have ever worked with or met. He took his time and was very patient with me. He never rushed the job, always took my calls, came on-site often, and invited us to his office for the final cabinet layout. We set a very aggressive instal date and he delivered. He does not sub out any work as everything is done in house (which was very important to me). The quality is top notch and priced very fair. We are so happy with the finished result and couldn't be happier. As an added bonus he recommended a fabricator, Lorenzo, who was also amazing. What was nice is that Nick didn't force us to use Lorenzo; however, it was nice because they work together often and know when the countertops are ready for install. We had Craig as our installer and he is a true craftsman. Took his time and assured the job was perfect. Last, but not least, on the last day when the job is done a quality control tech came out to assure everything was perfect. read more

We have been customers for years. They make it easy to keep coming back. We have always been satisfied and happy with the results. They gave us professional, timely, quality, friendly, organized service. We have worked with San Diego Custom Cabinets on a few jobs over the years: a major kitchen remodel, garage cabinetry, built-in furniture, and new doors on existing cabinets. The cabinetry is quality, the installation is correct, paints/finishes are excellent. Nick Gonzales is down to earth and made us feel comfortable that he understood our needs. My husband is very particular and exacting. He put Nick to the test to be sure his company was the one for us. San Diego Custom Cabinets proved that they were. They worked with us to be sure they could deliver what we expected and they delivered just what we wanted - on time! Communication was great! After our kitchen remodel we needed a new cabinet door due to kid roughhousing. Getting the replacement done was easy and quick. We are now using San Diego Custom Cabinets for our garage addition - our kitchen looks great after 5 years of use by a busy family and we wouldn't have called anyone else! read more

I got four estimates to remodel my kitchen. I was doing the demo, plumbing, drywall and electrical. I needed someone to build and install the cabinets and install the granite counter tops. One of the last companies we called was San Diego Custom Cabinets. I made an appointment with Nick Gonzalez, he came out measured, answered out questions and helped us decide what we really wanted. About a week later Nick called and said he was ready for us to come to his office to look at the drawing he had completed. These were good, but as usual they needed some tweeking and changes. We took them home made the changes and met with Nick again. The changes were added into the new plans and Nick sent us the revised contract and plans. We started demo on Feb. 7, 2016 the cabinets were dropped off on Feb. 24, 2016 and started installation on Feb. 25, 2016. The installer was Craig. He was very accommodating and professional. He was a cabinet maker and a finish carpenter. He went out of his way to make my wife happy with the workmanship. On Mar. 5, 2016 Lorenzo from Sicilian Marble and Granite arrived to get the dimensions and and layout for the counter tops. On March 8, 2016 Sicilian Marble and Granite arrived with the owner Lorenzo and his instillation crew (Rick and ?). The outside contractors have finished. All and all I would rate San Diego Custom Cabinets, Craig (Cabinet Installer), Lorenzo and his crew all FIVE STARS. They were all professional, their workmanship was extremely well done and the costs were average. If I had another kitchen to do, I would not hesitate to call anyone of these contractors. Remodeling a kitchen can be a large undertaking (especially during COVID)! We had 3 different quotes for cabinets and decided to go with San Diego Custom Cabinets because they met our timeframe and budget. On top of that, they are a local business and could give me everything I wanted. We were able to take the plans my designer created and share them with Christine. She walked me through all of the design choices: style, color, and added her own suggestions from her years of experience in the industry. I loved that I was able to choose my own custom color and make additions such as pull outs shelves/drawers, a built-in bench with push-latch drawers, a custom walnut wine rack and even a baking sheet organizer inside my pantry! The beautiful cabinets were delivered and installed on time. Craig, who installed the cabinets, is a true craftsman, and I don't think I've ever met someone who works harder. He was able to problem solve while on the jobsite, and I appreciated his knowledge and input. Afterwards, there were a few touch-ups that needed to be made and Ivan was responsive by sending someone out right away. At all times, they were professional and safe while in my home, by wearing masks. I hope to use San Diego Custom Cabinets for more projects in the future and wouldn't hesitate to recommend them! read more

We would provide as many stars as possible for Nick and his team at San Diego Custom Cabinets. They are absolutely terrific. We engaged them for a kitchen and bath remodel while we were remote, and they were perfect. From the plans to the execution, we have no complaints....only compliments. We were also fortunate enough to work with Nick's colleagues, Chris Virili (Virili Construction) and Lorenzo Bosforo (Sicilian Marble and Granite), for the installation/overall construction and the countertops. Like Nick, they are top-notch professionals, and we'd recommend them to anyone. We couldn't have done our remodel remotely without them, and we so appreciate their artistry, professionalism and amazing finished product! Thank you for helping us make our home! read more

San Diego Custom Cabinets just finished installing two custom built-in cabinets in our house. We were looking for a professional to create custom cabinets for our kitchen and we found Nick Gonzalez of San Diego Cabinet Guy. We met with him and discussed what we were looking to accomplish. Nick designed our kitchen from what we discussed and incorporated all of our wishes into a dream kitchen. After dealing with contractors who said they had a qualified team, we decided to be our own contractor. Nick did his magic with the cabinets and I called upon a capable professional to do part of the work and together with Nick we coordinated all of the work and within six weeks everything was completed. Nick is a confident and total professional. He produced a complete set of designs with every inch accounted for in the drawings. He made everyone's job easier with the plans he created. He met every deadline and his installers were amazing. He runs a tight crew and they were efficient and conscientious workers. They left me with a clean home and perfectly installed cabinets. After dealing and having bad experiences with contractors, I must say this remodel went amazingly well. Nick is creative and realistic when it comes to designing a kitchen. When asked for his opinion and recommendations he was honest and did not commit to anything he could not successfully accomplish. If you are in need of cabinets for any room in your home, Nick Gonzalez will do an amazing job. Do not hesitate to contact him for an estimate and design. You will also be surprised at his reasonable prices. He uses wood, not melamine, like most do and his hinges and drawer slides are top of the line. If you want your dream cabinets, call Nick! read more

When we removed our master bathroom cabinets we found that the prior installation of the cabinets was done prior to tiling the floor. So the tile was up to the cabinets but not under them. Because of this we needed to have new cabinets large enough to cover the exposed concrete - and yes we did try to match the flooring with no success. The prior design was not standard sized cabinets so we could not use off the shelf product. Custom cabinets were in our futures. We contacted several companies and obtained two quotes, most companies not willing to bid a job of only two cabinets. I chose San Diego Custom Cabinets because they understood my problem from one phone call and gave me a rough price on the phone. They then came out to measure and discuss options with us. They were slightly lower in price than the competitor that did bid the same job, but that was not the deciding factor. They simply know what they are doing. The cabinets were build to match an existing design within our home and they indeed matched perfectly. I built cabinets as a hobby some 10 years ago and I can confirm that these cabinets are well designed and built. No cheap hinges or drawer slides. They make me want to replace the cheaper cabinets in the rest of the house, and when I do I will certainly be giving them a call. Do not hesitate to at least call them for a quote. If the numbers are close choose them for sure. You won't be disappointed! read more

We are more than HAPPY with San Diego Custom Cabinets' amazing job!!! Rob helped us from the beginning until the end, he was professional, knowledgeable, talented, kind, respectful, and overall awesome! He is just an AWESOME individual. He is someone who you want to work with. He made sure that we were happy with the services they provided. He even told us to go around and get estimates from different companies. He tried to educate us about cabinets and the process of kitchen renovations, so we know what we are getting ourselves into. :) When we went to shop around the cabinets in Mira Mar Road, most of kitchen renovation sales persons were utterly rude and unprofessional. Rob was the nicest and the price was right also. I highly recommend this company, I can grantee that you will be happy with the result. If I have to mention something negative... One thing was, it was long waiting process! We finished measuring in beginning of August and ordered our cabinets in meddle of August and finally got our cabinets installed in very very end of October like Halloween. However, I think that's like the normal process since it's a custom made! Worth the wait though. Rob, you made our kitchen reinvention smooth as possible. Thank you for your professionalism and support! read more
