We had a great experience with Matthew installing our IKEA PAX system. He was professional, considerate, and easy to communicate with throughout the process. I was especially impressed by his attention to detail, including using a laser level to ensure everything was precisely aligned. His experience installing hundreds of PAX units really showed. When our original layout wouldn't fit our space, he offered suggestions and made adjustments that turned out even better than what we had originally planned. His expertise was invaluable. Matthew was also incredibly organized and tidy. He left no mess behind--even the packaging and trash were neatly gathered for easy disposal. I highly recommend him and wouldn't hesitate to contact him again for future projects! read more

I've been remiss in not completing this review for Matthew. I had him design and install two closets in my new ADU several months ago. He does amazing work. Respectful, talented, conscientious and just a really great guy. During that project I found out Matthew also installs TVs. So then I had him in all 3 TVs in the ADU and one in the main house. Again, I couldn't be happier. Take a look at the one in the picture-it's one of my most favorite items-TV mounted on ceiling and remotes to position the TV-it's awesome! I need to contact him to have him handle some other projects I have here such as patio covers....I'm sure those will be handled in the same professional manner. read more

Matt is a dedicated and honest handyman who came highly recommended by IKEA. He converted my daughter's bedroom closet into a spacious wardrobe with plenty of storage and transformed our master bathroom vanity from the original builder model into a beautiful, modern piece. There were a couple of minor hiccups due to the IKEA products, and Matt even returned over the weekend to make sure everything was completed properly. That's true dedication. Thank you, Matt! read more

Where to start...I have seen the IKEA hacks all over social media. Long story short, we found Matthew and he built us much needed storage wardrobes in our master bedroom and a storage unit connected to a desk in our downstairs entryway. The photos don't do it justice. Matthew was wonderful in all aspects. He communicated exceptionally well. He helped us order everything (he placed the order in store and we simply showed up to pay for it and arrange delivery). He came out to the house to measure and take photos. He even moved an electrical outlet so we can charge devices inside the cabinet (we love a decluttered home). Matthew is knowledgeable about the IKEA products which is what made the difference in us trying to DIY the project (would have been a disaster) vs. having a professional "hack" the look. A lot of the IKEA hacks using certain products were done prior to IKEA changing some of the materials and ways in which they make specific units. Matthew's knowledge helped is tremendously as the desk drawers are actually a kitchen cabinet and he ordered shelving material (all from IKEA) to match the dark grey color of the pax wardrobe and front kitchen cabinet drawers. It saved us from trying to paint the sides of the pull out drawer cabinet (which based on online tutorials is a challenge). We are beyond happy with the way everything turned out. We wish we had known about Matthew prior to using a closet company in our new home. We know Matthew could have designed and built us an AMAZING master closet. He is reasonably priced and worth every penny. Forgot to mention in a different online review that he secures the furniture to the wall as well as reinforces it when building it. read more

Simply put, Matt is a professional and just a really good dude. He responded to my inquiry promptly, offered his expertise, including a detailed list of products to purchase. He provided a clear estimate, arrived on time, and went above and beyond to make the laundry cabinets and clothes rack perfect. For any larger IKEA projects outside of your (potential customer) scope, I would absolutely reach out to Matt. read more

Matthew did a great job transforming our old closet into a beautiful custom built IKEA closet for our baby's nursery. He is really great at communicating throughout the entire process, and he is very straightforward and direct with everything, which my wife and I really appreciated. He showed up on time and got the job done efficiently and even came back the following day to do some extra final touches. And overall, he's just a kind and chill person. Thanks again Matt! read more

Matthew was fantastic to work with. He competed a challenging TV mounting above our fireplace with no visible wiring. Matthew communicated clearly in advance of the installation regarding what would be needed on our end. He visited the site a day ahead of time to make measurements and plan for what supplies were needed. He quoted us a fair price range ahead of time, and stayed within this range in final billing despite the project taking longer than expected (~8 hours). Regarding the day of the installation, he showed up on time. The quality of his work was the highest level. He spent extra time to minimize wall damage. In fact, there are no visible spots of drywall damage, except for one patch behind the TV itself. The wires had to navigate two 90 degree turns, but this too was managed without wall damage. It was very clear that there would have been a faster way to complete the project that would have caused wall damage, but Matthew holds himself to a higher standard, and the results speak for themselves. To top it off, Matthew is very nice, patient, and hardworking. I would give him 6 stars if that was allowed! read more

Mathew Jenkins is the most reliable and honest handyman I've ever worked with. I've used his services both at home and for a business, and he's always been dependable, punctual, and professional. You can really count on him to get the job done right the first time. Mathew also creates a safe and trustworthy environment, which means a lot when letting someone into your home or workplace. Matt was awesome! He brought my record cabinet to life and worked with Westworld Cabinets to create a design that worked for my collection and even allowed some room to grow. This work transformed my dining room from a mess of boxes to a presentable and functional display piece. Beyond impressed with the completed work and professionalism throughout the installation. Recommend you call Matt for any project big or small! This work was a little outside his usual closet organizer type contracts but a great example of the range of Matt's capabilities. read more

We hired Matthew for a special project. He was recommended to us by a friend as someone that knew a lot about Ikea products. We were looking for someone that could use their products in a creative way without breaking the bank. The remodel was for our daughter's bedroom. She has chronic pain and it causes a lot of issues for her on a regular basis. She wanted a place to store her collectibles and needed more storage and organization to help her with her day-to-day struggles. I have worked in the interior design and home improvement field for a while. I did some initial sketches and then used Ikea's tools to create some cool ways to transform her room. I just needed someone to bring it to life. Matthew did that and more. As some may know, the pandemic has wreaked havoc on Ikea's supply chain. Also, many people are creating home offices and re-organizing their living spaces. The employees there are overwhelmed and aren't able to provide the best service. That's where Mr. Jenkins comes in. He knows their products really well and also knows how their operations work. He guided us through the process and filled in the gaps for us. He told us the best days and times of day to order. He also suggested alternatives for out of stock products and also made custom adjustments when needed. Beyond that, he was able to get us an out of stock closet frame and door that we were having trouble finding. After a few weeks, our daughter's bedroom has been transformed. The joy of seeing her smile and enjoy her new space is inexplicable. Matthew and his assistant Josh really hit it out of the park and we plan on hiring his services again for other projects we have planned. If you're looking to redo your closets or need innovative solutions for your home, he's the guy to do it. Not to mention, that we were able to complete everything we needed to for a fraction of the cost that custom closet builders charge. read more

I had an IKEA wardrobe assembly job. Matthew responded immediately and helped me. I appreciate his honesty and help.

No-showed on my job. I wanted the rails for my kitchen drawers replaced. Matthew responded fairly quickly, we exchanged emails back and forth getting the estimate and so on set (I had no problem with him charging me for 1 day plus parts, said so in the email). Date was set for Apr 4 at 8am and he didn't show up. No communications from him at all. I called twice, got voice mail. Sent an email and 2 texts, none of which was responded to. read more

Best Handyman I've ever come across! Matthew did an amazing job for my liquor cabinets for my liquor store! He even went above and beyond and created custom shelves so we can use every single inch of space! I hired him again and he created another customer door for the register area. He installed it and the functionality was great! I called him for the THIRD time and he built and installed a PAX cabinet for a space I had so I can use the "dead space" for more product like chips! Over all, this guy is super talented! Thank you Matt for all the times you helped me at the liquor store! I'll for sure hire you AGAIN for any future jobs! Thank you, Yelp! I found Matthew through Yelp last year and he built a gorgeous entertainment center for us soon after. It was such a painless process that every time people comment on that area of our home, we bring him up. We asked him to come help us again last week with a few different builds/installs across our house. He is knowledgeable, professional and pays close attention to details as if it was his own home. As a bonus, he knows IKEA inside and out and was able to make great recommendations in addition to what we were already planning to do. Add to this that he's pleasant to have in and out of the house on a day-long basis and you've found the best handyman in San Diego. Highly recommended! read more

If someone could earn 10 stars, Matt would be my first 10 star review. I was referred to Matt after spending time in Ikea designing my closet and I couldn't have gotten luckier. He came and measured, help tackle some mistakes I had made with my first design and even went with us to Ikea to make changes and help us place the order. We decided to do two closets (one of which is a bedroom turned into a closet). Matt managed the entire process, including some unfortunate mistakes out of his control with Ikea. He (and his partner, Josh) were amazing throughout the entire install and even came back to help make some quick edits after I started to fill the closet. He has an eye for space and the ability for him to make custom solutions is invaluable. Sometimes dealing with prefab cabinets like Ikea, you need the ability to have some custom designs and Matt created me the perfect cabinet to fill in a gap. I'll be back to update pictures as Matt is coming back soon to add trim to the top of the wardrobes and do a few finishing touches. I highly recommend. Don't think twice. read more

Needed some hinges and drawer glides fixed or replaced. Matthew was quick to respond to my request and came out to take a look. Charged me $150 and said he needed to order the supplies for the repair, and would get back to us. That was 2 weeks before Christmas. We followed up with him via email, text, phone calls. No response. My husband finally got him on the phone two weeks ago and he said he would contact him back by the end of the week. It is now February. Again, no response. UNRELIABLE! read more

Mathew was recommended by to us by someone. We had a large ikea closest order and we had a horrible experience by a previous ikea contractor on a previously installed order. Mathew was responsive and punctual. He has best product knowledge compare with other vendors I had experienced. He even took it upon himself to exchange parts couple of times. Built me a custom platform as well. At the end we had a perfectly lined up closets and doors. And in process to get me a custom cabinets. Thank you Mathew and crew for your honesty and perfection. Hiring Matthew was a great decision. There were numerous individuals to chose from and it was a bit of a "shot in the dark" but certainly the right choice. His fees were reasonable and I would hire him again. read more

Just call this guy. Matt came out to fix all of my kitchen drawers (try 18 full-sized drawers) after a painfully bad install by someone else a few years back. The work from the previous installer was out of warranty, so I had no recourse. I took a chance on Matt and am glad that I did. He spent the day in my kitchen making magic happen for the drawers (and getting along with my dogs, too). I know closets are his fav thing to do, but I couldn't tell because my kitchen drawers are functioning like never before. He's coming out again to fix another set of 9 drawers and installing new hardware as well. Matt calls it how he sees it. I highly recommend him! Thank you, Matt, for the excellent, prompt and courteous communication. You do stellar work at a fair price. read more
