I asked Tuck to come in and strip the paint off my open ceiling beams and stain them. I had three contractors bid and he had the best price. When he started to strip off the paint we realized the side beams were all fake and stripping the paint off would look bad. Job over...right? Nope. Tuck came up with the idea of putting an under coat of gold/orange and then a top coat of brown, and then distressing the top coat to make the beams look old and and weathered. How cool!!! Tuck was incredible, cannot recommend him highly enough!!! He does excellent work for an extremely reasonable price, we are very happy with the final product. We had a weird and tough job where we moved into a house that had the drywall removed from the hall closet and left this big open space underneath the stairs where there had been a rat problem along with some dirty insulation and mold on some of the beams. It was smelly and kind of unsafe, we just had a few boxes of stuff we rarely use in there and tried not to open the door as much as possible. Tuck totally transformed this space into a new storage room by removing bad insulation and treating the mold then drywalling the entire length of the staircase on both sides and above to make a ceiling, doing some rewiring to allow dangling wires to fit behind the new walls, installing recessed lights and a motion-activated lightswitch, installing flooring (previously was concrete with some exposed carpet nails), baseboards, and then painted everything beautifully. He really gave us as much space as possible even when it got very narrow, which makes installing the drywall even more difficult! The new space is absolutely gorgeous, no smell at all, and we are so excited to actually be able to use it. Tuck is extremely hardworking and efficient, he completed all of this by himself in a little over 3 days! Tucks craftsmanship and execution is excellent. He communicates extremely well and always kept us updated about what was going on, offered explanations as issues came up and gave us options about how to move forward. He completely understood what we were looking for and delivered! He was also extremely professional - arrived when he said he would, took care to keep the rest of our house clean as he was working, was transparent about cost, and was just generally very kind and nice to work with! We have already discussed another job with him in our house and will definitely be hiring him again. And again his pricing is extremely fair, this job was worth every penny!
