When we decided to replace the carpet in our condo in Pacific Beach we contacted and got bids from several flooring companies. Although their bids were similar, we weren't happy with the prep work we had to do or what they wanted to charge for it. We are in our late 70's. We visited Flooring Creations, talked to both Gus Sr. and Gus Jr. We got a bid that included everything we needed done and was financially reasonable. We were on a limited time schedule and they were great about working within that time frame. The installers they referred us to were on time, neat, and did a great job. When you find a family owned local company that makes you feel like your job is important, works with you, and does a good job you go back. I would totally recommend SD Flooring Creations. read more

I had a great experience at Flooring Creations recently. I came in the store with ideas on LVP color and he was able to work with me and find me the perfect color. He was very patient and kind throughout the entire process. I also purchased porcelain tile and carpet. Gus Jr took his time and showed me various tiles and carpet and assisted in pulling it all together for a cohesive beautiful look. Many thanks to him! read more

I'm in the middle of a major home renovation and have hired more than 10 different tradespeople, so I've developed a pretty good frame of reference for evaluating contractors and suppliers. From the start, Gus and the team at Flooring Creations were among my favorite people to work with on this project. They recommended an excellent third-party installation crew, communicated well throughout the process, and I'm very happy with the finished product. With Gus and his team, I always felt that they acted with integrity and made it clear that they were not satisfied unless I was satisfied. I would gladly work with Gus and his team again and will be recommending them to anyone who asks. read more

Im usually skeptical when making a big purchase because i hate being disappointed but i have to say that i had an amazing experience at flooring creations. They had a wide variety of flooring and in my case i needed new carpet. Everyone was helpful and informative and no one pressured us. They were very good at communicating as well. They charge a measuring fee that will go back to you when you choose them for your flooring needs. They don't do the installation themselves but they gave us a good recommendation for a 3rd party contractor to install and they also did very well. Overall, im happy i went with flooring creations and i recommend them 100%. read more

I went into this project knowing almost nothing about flooring and needing about 1,450 sq ft of LVP installed. What immediately stood out about Flooring Creations was how consistently strong their reviews were -- and after working with them, I get why. Gus Sr. and Gus Jr. were patient, knowledgeable, and easy to work with. They took the time to walk me through different plank options and helped me land on something that fit my budget, needs, and concerns. The process felt collaborative which I really appreciated. The final result looks fantastic. The color, plank size, baseboards, and overall layout work beautifully in the space. The installation was quick and very well done. The installer they recommended and his crew were meticulous -- especially on the stairs, which turned out great. You can tell they paid attention to details like plank layout and variation so there's no obvious repetition. The crew was respectful of the property, communication was solid throughout, and questions were always answered promptly. Overall, this was a very positive experience and I'm extremely happy with how everything turned out. I'd absolutely recommend Flooring Creations. read more

We had an outstanding experience working with Flooring Creations and Gus Jr., one of the company owners. Before visiting Flooring Creations, we had visited other flooring companies and left those ones feeling incompetent and unsure with more questions than we had coming in. One of those companies made us feel like we weren't worth their time. But then we visited Flooring Creations and Gus Jr. and all of our questions were answered, Gus Jr. was Genuine and Patient, we felt not pressure, and we left with full confidence, something I had not anticipated, it really was a pleasant surprise considering the experiences we had with other flooring companies before hand. If you're looking for new Carpet and flooring for your house, don't look anywhere else and go with Flooring Creations. They're a family business that really seemed to care. In addition, Flooring Creation's recommended installer was really cool. So cool, I have them installing for my parent's house now. We plan to work with Gus Jr. again for other housing projects! Gustavo was very helpful in helping us find the right carpet (for a couple bedrooms) and tile (for the master bathroom) to complement the LVP we had chosen. Then the magic happened with the installer they recommended, and their super experienced and efficient teams. Top notch quality work, all done in a few days. Plus they left everything cleaned and spotless afterwards. We absolutely LOVE our new floors. read more

So happy we found Flooring Creations through Yelp, we are so grateful to work with Gus and his team! This is the second time we've worked with Gus to remodel our floors. I sent Gus some inspo photos and he quickly provided recommendations on what floors he felt would be the style I love. He was spot on, we couldn't be happier with how amazing our floors turned out (see pictures). He recommended a wonderful floor installer who did a great job and finished way ahead of schedule. Price was reasonable and they did charge for a measuring fee, but it was refunded in the purchase of materials. I truly want to thank Gus, remodeling is so stressful with so many options and items to coordinate. He really cares about his customers and takes the time to meet and helped me to design the house of my dreams! :) thank you Gus and Karen! read more

If it was possible to give Flooring Creations more than 5 stars then we would give them at least 100 gold stars! This family run business made our condo remodel possible. We had a big vision but no practical experience with this kind of project and we didn't have a big-time budget. We had visited some of the large contractors and were afraid of what we didn't know and how many hidden costs would sink our dream before we got close to realizing the end of the project. Our vision included replacing a combination of tile, wood, carpet and stairs with waterproof (we have a dog and live at the beach) Luxury Vinyl Plank everywhere. We also wanted to replace all our cabinets, countertops, bathrooms, staircases, remove a kitchen wall and to modernize all of our ceiling lighting. And fix / repair all the things that had been building up over the years that we hadn't addressed. The team at Flooring Creations - led by our amazing project manager Gus Jr. - gave us the confidence to invest in them and our project. We needed someone we could TRUST. We needed someone PROFESSIONAL with DECADES OF EXPERIENCE who could CONNECT us with all the different tradespeople and skills needed for our complex project. We needed someone who was willing to work on HIGH QUALITY SOLUTIONS whenever we had to work around a challenge. We needed people who were NICE and GENUINE and PATIENT with us as we went through this major multi-month remodel. We are extremely proud to RECOMMEND Flooring Creations for any size project - they will make sure that you are satisfied with the results and there won't be any surprises. read more

Gus Jr and Sr. are great to work with. They had a great selection of VLP and other types of flooring at very competitive price points. They were quick to respond with any questions or concerns. I had a fantastic experience working with Gus and his team at Flooring Creations. I needed a quick turnaround for my former condo, now rental property and was looking for quality carpet that looked great, would last, and came at a fair price. I contacted Flooring creations to have new flooring installed throughout our two-story home. Thier sales process was easy and they recommended top notch installers. Gus came out to get the process started and from very beginning I felt like he was going beyond where the other contractors that had bid the job were going. He spent well over an hour going over the flooring requirements for the home as well as making sure to lend advice and design ideas. The experience in the showroom to pick out materials was a pleasure. Gus and team answered every question and again took the time to make sure we were well taken care of. Installation for roughly 3000 sqft of flooring took approximately 9 days and is flawless. I can't say enough good things about the installers that were recommended to complete the job. Not only would I use Flooring creations again. I highly recommend them to anyone looking to do flooring. read more

Gus Sr provided excellent service. The installers he recommended were top notch. After visiting a couple of home improvement stores, it became apparent that we needed more guidance to understand vinyl plank flooring options for our condo. In the meantime, I read lots of reviews of materials and installations done via big box stores; many of them were bad. Gus Sr worked with us over several visits to clarify our requirements: colors, patterns, quality, sub flooring, stair treatment, molding... It was reassuring to work someone who specialized in flooring, as opposed to getting whoever happened to be in the flooring aisle at the local home improvement store. Material delivery and subcontractor flooring installation were on schedule as promised. The flooring subcontractor also met with us after finishing the job to ensure that were were satisfied with his work. read more

Gus Jr and team were fantastic. Walked us through the process and what to expect. This is the 2nd time we have used them for both flooring and carpet. 5 Stars - Great Experience from Start to Finish I almost never write reviews--but this experience was so positive, I felt like I had to say something. So if you're reading this, know that this review really means something. We first met Gus Jr. at Flooring Creations back in October 2024. At the time, we weren't sure what type of flooring or color we wanted, but Gus was super helpful and patient. He explained the pros and cons of each option and, since we have a large dog, he recommended a more durable product. The best part? The product he pointed us to actually cost less per square foot than what we originally had in mind. It felt like he really had our best interest in mind rather than trying to upsell us. Gus Jr. came out to our home, took full measurements, and gave us a detailed estimate that included materials, labor, and tax. Just so you know--Flooring Creations sells the flooring materials, and they work with independent installers. In our case, the install was handled by Froggy and his team, and they were awesome. Super professional, skilled, and just really cared about doing the job right. The floors came out beautiful. We did have two unexpected costs during the project: Subfloor Issues - Our subfloor was way more uneven than anticipated, and since LVP needs a flat surface, we ended up needing about 15 extra bags of leveling compound. Once I saw it in person, it was obvious that it needed to be done right. Staircase Change - Midway through the project, I decided to change the stair risers to white instead of using the LVP. This was mostly because I was also doing a DIY lighting project, adding automated led lighting under each tread. The white risers ended up being the right call--they look amazing with the lighting. Gus Jr. and Froggy were quick to roll with the change and had the new materials on-site the very next day. The whole project started on a Monday and wrapped up by Thursday evening. Everything moved quickly and smoothly, and everyone involved kept checking in to make sure we were happy--which we definitely were. I got three quotes before starting this project. Flooring Creations wasn't the cheapest, but I chose them based on their reviews--and I'm so glad I did. The service was excellent, the product is perfect for our needs, and the entire experience was stress-free. I highly recommend buying from Flooring Creations--it was a great experience with awesome service and quality products. And if you're lucky enough to get Froggy and his crew for the install, you're in great hands. You might be able to save a few bucks somewhere else, but in the end, you really do get what you pay for. We're super happy with the entire experience and love how everything turned out. read more

I would highly recommend Flooring Creations for your flooring needs. I went to the showroom and picked out several carpet samples to order. Ordering the samples was simple and easy. Several months later Gus Jr. came out to my house to measure, discuss options, and provide an estimate. That process was smooth, easy, and pleasant as well. Overall, I can't speak highly enough of this father-son duo. I did a LOT of research prior to choosing their company and I am so glad that I did. The entire process from start to finish was straightforward and transparent. Gus does an excellent job keeping you informed on what is happening with your project and materials. They replaced all the carpet in my home and refinished the stairs with LVP. I will be using this company again to do the rest of the flooring throughout my home because not only do they carry quality products, but the customer service was just that good. 10/10, I HIGHLY recommend. read more

Gus and his team are fantastic. From the initial consult to the end product, they stayed in touch, gave us regular updates, and their workmanship was top notch. We purchased a 1950's house and wanted to redo all the floors. When we started ripping out the carpets, we found an old safe that was bolted into the floor at the back of a closet. There was no combo to access the bolts, so I had to call out a locksmith. After three hours of cutting and grinding, they weren't able to open the safe and wanted to charge me another $1000 to keep trying or I'd be left with a mangled piece of useless metal in the closet. Oz, the flooring supervisor came in the next day and pried up enough to cut the bolts with a sawzall, and saved the whole project. Didn't even charge me any extra. On top of their pristine work, Oz even came back a month later to finish off some molding that the kitchen guys neglected to do. Also at no extra cost. If I could, I'd buy a new house just to give them more of my business. read more

From the minute, I walked into the store, Gus listen to my needs and made amazing recommendations. He taught me a bit about the flooring industry, which I did not know. He came out very promptly for an estimate. We did have to pay for the estimate, but that fee went toward our purchase. I had the estimate by the next morning. He recommended a fantastic installer and I was able to pick the install date that worked best for me. House remodeling can be a stressful time but working with Gus Jr. was so pleasant. We needed a new living room carpet inset and picked the Mohawk brand based on his through detailed explanation of the various products available. His recommended installer was efficient and prompt, excellent workmanship and even showed up early: first project in the am. The installer supervisor came next day to reinspect install and collect payment. Our carpet is so elegant, plushy underfoot and our cats love it. There is a $100 measurement fee but it's refunded upon material purchase. What a great experience to work with a small company and its competent staff vs large corporate non personable entities. The bedrooms in my condo needed an upgrade from carpet to hardwood flooring. At first I went to Flooring Creations due to the excellent reviews. I was so impressed with the explanation of the different products and also they are aware of the HOA rules and requirements. Quality products, competitive pricing, and second to none in customer service. If you're contemplating doing business with Floor & Decor, this review is for you. Gus Jr. and Gus Sr. are a dream to work with. During the process they were direct and transparent. There was no upselling and no trying to squeeze me. They run a fair and honest business. Gus Jr. came to my house, took thorough measurements, and gave me several quotes. Note - there is a fee for their time (which was credited towards the final purchase price), which in my opinion, was very fair. I compared their product to 3 different stores and found the cost per square foot of their white oak hardwood was the most competitive. Before completing my order, they referred me to a hardwood installer, who is an absolute gem. The contractor who did the installation went above and beyond to finish my project in a timely manner and didn't cut any corners along the way. I've seen good installation jobs and bad installation jobs, and these guys set the bar quite high. Gus Jr. and Gus Sr. kept in contact throughout the process to make sure everything was going smoothly. They truly care about their customers vs making a quick buck, which is greatly appreciated. All in all, you're in the market for flooring, give Gus Jr. and Gus Sr. a chance to earn your business. If your experience is even half as good as mine, you won't be disappointed. read more

Flooring Creations were wonderful. First, Gus Jr was really helpful picking out samples. Unlike other tile stores, I was able to take home full size tile. This helped with making decision. I am glad we chose Flooring Creations for our carpet replacement. The store had a pretty good selection, and thankfully it wasn't too overwhelming. Gus Sr. helped us by explaining certain carpet qualities, pricing, all the options, scheduling - all of that was easy. And might I add that we never felt pressured into being upsold to something which is a big pet peeve of mine. Gus was a pleasure to work with. The store charged a measuring fee, but refunded it when we purchased the carpet. The carpet we ultimately selected was of the desired high quality, so we are really happy with our choice of store and carpet. The installation process was equally transparent and easy. Gus recommended very good installers. They came in, did their thing for half a day and left the house with everything perfectly done. No change requests or corrections needed at all. We will definitely do business with Flooring Creations again. Best carpet store ever! read more

I had 4 bedrooms of LVP purchased and installed earlier this year. Gus Sr is incredibly knowledgeable about the business and was able to expertly answer all my questions. He talked about the differing quality between different brands, and the pros and cons of different types of flooring. He also didn't try to "sell" me but was just straightforward and honest. For example I asked something like "what is the all-in price on LVP?" and he actually gave me an answer, and it actually ended up being very close to what I ended up paying. I would definitely recommend this place, A+++ they know how to run a business and treat their customers well. The prices are super fair, not necessarily the cheapest but he explained that's because there are some SUPER cheap (bad quality) products out there on the market but they refuse to sell them, and I believe him. Gus Jr I hope you are paying close, close attention because if you treat your customers how your dad treats them, this family business of yours can last for generations to come. Since I have hard floors in my entire house now I probably won't need to buy flooring again for many years, but if I did then this is the place I would call. read more
