The stars aligned for me the day I was referred to Craft Cabinetry. I purchased cabinets through IKEA before connecting with them. Once I received the initial plans from IKEA, I reached out for a quote. Royal and John were very quick to come out and provide me a bid on my project. After meeting them, I instantly knew I could trust them with my home renovation and they did not disappoint. Royal went above and beyond helping me redesign my kitchen island to fit better between a load bearing arch in the kitchen. I am long overdue in adding my review. In July I was in the midst of a time sensitive buildout for my new office space in Bankers Hill. Part of my build called for about 200 linear feet of Cabinets in 3 different rooms I began using the room planning tools available at IKEA. It was a convenient resource for this project: as every piece was added to my design I could see the cost and make changes as needed. Everything was running smoothly. The buildout was progressing to perfectly coincide with my final touches that were being made to the cabinetry design. I purchased my nearly $14000 in cabinets from IKEA and was ready to schedule the installation that had previously been bid through the IKEA installer. Then everything ground to a halt! They could not begin my installation for nearly 5 weeks!!! The flooring could not be installed until the cabinetry was complete. I thought "No problem. I'll find someone else to do it!" As I began calling around and asking advice from the numerous contractors and builders I was working with the stark realization was made that I was in a really bad spot. Few people were willing to work with the IKEA cabinets and those that were open to it were prohibitively expensive or overbooked. As a last ditch effort I took a look on Craigs List and found Craft Cabinetry. I sent a message and within minutes Royal called me back. He explained that he and his partner have extensive experience with IKEA cabinets and asked me to send over the plans I created using the IKEA room planner. I did, Jeremy Craft followed up the following morning with a few clarifications to my plans. I explained that I was in a big time crunch and really needed help from someone responsible and capable. They sent me a really competitive bid which I accepted with the caveat that they could start within the next 4 days. They worked with their other clients and agreed to get to work the next day!!! I was ecstatic. They were on site on time and ready to get right to work. They inventoried the huge pile of pieces delivered by IKEA days before and helped me to resolve any missing items. They completed my installation more quickly than the IKEA team was able to and even finished a half day earlier than they promised! The kitchen in the home we had purchased needed major renovation, however, like many other homeowners, we were shocked not only at the cost of what a kitchen remodel would be but the amount of time it would take to get what we wanted done if we went with kitchen remodel companies. And in case you're curious, the quotes we received were all well over $100k and the time commitment would be over a year! There is no way we were willing to do that so we decided to go with an IKEA design and IKEA kitchen cabinetry after a fellow mom friend had strongly recommended I work with Royal and Jeremy at Craft Cabinetry for the installation. I have to say - it only got better and better the minute I contacted Craft Cabinetry for help. This is how it went down: I emailed Craft Cabinetry using the link on their facebook page and attached the design IKEA had created for me and asked for a quote. Within minutes I had a response from Royal. And within a few days of starting the work my kitchen was complete thanks to Craft Cabinetry! I am so incredibly grateful to have worked with both Royal and Jeremy for 3 reasons: 1.) They are INNOVATIVE, CREATEIVE and SOLUTION ORIENTED. They helped me think of solutions to things that I would have never anticipated, for example, when IKEA was out of a certain cabinet size, they would tell me "no problem, order this instead and we will cut it to whatever you need." I would have never known that! And also, I had mentioned to them that I wanted to create a breakfast nook area and wanted to have someone build a bench they said "we could do it with IKEA cabinets if you want." And within minutes Royal had messaged me with a detailed list of the exact parts I would need to buy from IKEA to make it happen! AMAZING! 2.) They are PROFESSIONAL, RESPONSIVE, and KIND. Jeremy and Royal always treated me with respect and always answered my questions and never made me feel like I was asking dumb questions. In fact, they would help me come up with ideas. 3.) They pay ATTENTION to DETAIL! I've never met anyone that paid so much attention to detail as much as Royal and Jeremy do. It shows in how they take pride in their work and how beautiful it all looks when they are done. Craft Cabinetry has my highest recommendation without a doubt. Royal responded to my Yelp inquiry quickly and had a quote to me about when he could come in and do the job really promptly. Getting to the job he helped us make changes to our plan to make things work way better than the associates at IKEA were able to advise and helped correct the errors made when ordering our cabinets. We moved in to a new house and the closets were not built out. We were referred to Royal and he responded immediately. He was easy to work with and gave us some great design & product ideas for our closets and garage cabinets. When IKEA did not have all of the materials that we needed, Royal offered an alternative so that we could keep moving forward on our project. Thanks to these guys, we love our new kitchen! They are Ikea EXPERTS so if you are doing an Ikea kitchen, hiring them is total must. Worth every penny knowing that every aspect was installed properly. Royal went above and beyond, suggesting and implementing solutions (adding filler at the top of our uppers for a seamless look, having the peninsula panel go straight to the floor)...and he even picked up a few missing items at Ikea for me! I had a construction nightmare with the original person I hired. I could tell he didn't know what to do w/ the Ikea cabinets I ordered, so we tried to assemble them ourselves. What a nightmare of a project that was - even after watching numerous how-to videos on Ikea cabinets! I was desperate and finally looked up "Ikea cabinet experts" and came across Craft Cabinetry. I initially reached out for help or at least a referral in case my project was too small of a job since it mainly needed someone to fix what we didn't do correctly. Let's face it, these houses in the older neighborhoods of San Diego are a challenge. After having done several remodels myself, I was tired of struggling only to have it look half-assed and obviously DYI. This time I went with these guys, on a home that was by far the worst I've ever had and they really made my crooked, sloped, off-kilter house look straight, professional and spiffy again. They are true craftsmen and gentlemen in their work, ethic and business dealings.
