We started this kitchen project (smaller one wall project, no major renovations) back in May. We first started with the Home Depot Design Center but every step started to get way more complicated so we started to look up independent contractors. Contractors are slammed with projects right now so many weren't interested and only Amit and a few others said they were available. However Amit did not make our job seem any less important than any of the other larger projects he had going on - he was available to us whenever we had questions and provided clarity every step of the way. Nate, the project manager, was amazing to work with. He was patient and very helpful in guiding me in the process of my kitchen and bathroom renovation. He never gouged me for more money or threw any surprises of extra work or costs. He kept his word and integrity all through our pre-negotiated contract. Further more, he even guided me where I could save costs. For a complete bathroom and kitchen remodel, his crew completed the job fairly quickly in just about a month's time. We considered working with Friendly Remodeling for a full house remodeling project, but we didn't and I'm glad we didn't!!! We learned from Nate, their project manager, that we needed the city permit given one structural wall was being removed. During our first interview, we liked Nate and decided to work with him and his architecture to prepare the necessary package for the city. If we find them a good fit, we would have them remodel our house and I'm so glad we didn't sign a contract then. While friendly and professional, Nate was ill-informed in many areas and passive in solving the problems that arose. Their architect was rude and dismissive, hung up the phone on me during one of our conference calls, and didn't cooperate with our engineer. We ended up not working with them because, it took Nate and his architecture 7months (instead of the 3weeks originally promised) to prepare the architectural plans, my engineer 3 weeks to prepare his plans for city submission, a month and a half for city approval, and 4months of remodel work by another contractor. With how things went during those 7months, I couldn't imagine them handling my big remodel. While the team is definitely friendly but not experienced, proactive, and resourceful. They might be ok with a small remodel of a spare bath, but not a big project. read more

4 hour sit down consultation on a Sunday. Once they drew up our contract they failed to show up for almost a week! First it was a worker having a "flat tire". Gave them the benefit of the doubt in which the next day they don't show due to now getting the material. They did not seem to respect our time as another excuse was due to the GAS PRICES! All for a small bathroom that was already started by a prior contractor. Every time we had a question about their work they would constantly remind us that they had "worked on one million dollar houses" and that a job is "not done" until they say it is! We needed to remodel 2 bathrooms and a kitchen in this time when things are expensive because of shortage of material and labor.  Before we settled with Friendly Remodeling,  we met with about 10 contractors, big and small, based on their Yelp rating and friends recommendation. We wanted to remodel the kitchen and asked for 3 quotes. We ultimately chose this company because of the owner's personality. He gave a reasonable quote and was also to be the project manager. He said he would be there every other day to oversee. And he kept his word. Friendly Remodeling has delivered. From the owner, the cabinet guys, the foreman to the other workers that were at our house for 5 weeks. Everyone is kind, respectful, skilled and hard working. If there is something that needs to be corrected, they have no problems fixing it. The backsplash ended up bubbling out, they fixed it.
