Ordered several paints to be picked up a different day. They had everything that for Frazee paints. I also had some trial paints for before they accepted without any questions. Easy to park in lot. They have so many color options and quality paint. The staff is very helpful and they will mix colors to match samples you bring in to the best of their ability. They also offer paint supplies and little paint kits. Great place to quickly pick up what you need. read more

I didn't realize how many Sherwin-William locations there are in SD. Holy cow they're like EVERYWHERE. I've visited this small strip mall many times in the past but didn't even realize there was a paint company here. They are located in the same plaza as Oggis, UBOC, Katana Restaurant. The guys here are incredibly helpful and friendly. The store isn't that big but they seem to have sales quite a bit. It was mostly professional painters that I saw that day visiting the store. I needed 3 paint samples and they custom make the samples for you to take back. The small container of paint is about $7 and takes 10 min or so to blend and shake in the back. You get a small discount if they input your information into their system for future purchases. I can't remember the name of the guy who helped me but he was just the best. He told me to wait a few days to buy paint since there will be a 30% off sale coming up soon. So that was greatly appreciated. I'm not sure how the paint prices here compare to brands you can find at Home Depot. But the service here at Sherwin is wayyyy better. read more

Recently SW had their Color To Go sample quarts available again (they were really low on paint post pandemic and had temporarily stopped sample paints). These are inexpensive, around $9, for any color in a semi-gloss, for the purpose of testing on your walls. They are fantastic and have already helped me kick out a few colors that looked good on a swatch but not so much on the wall. It really helps to paint it on in the designated environment. Today I went in to get a color match of a bit of paint I had left in a can from over 9 years ago. It still had the label specs but I was so impressed the guy who made up the paint (and another guy who he conferred with) actually spot tested the new paint vs the old paint, comparing and contrasting, and adjusting the new paint to exactly match the old. They spent a good amount of time doing this, all just for one quart of paint. Granted, I will be using it for touching up a wall, so it needs to match very well, but I am grateful that they took the time to make sure it was really well matched. I had a good experience at this store when the previous manager, Deena, was there. I can't say the same for the new manager. As a homeowner doing some renovations I have purchased several gallons of paint from this particular store in Carmel Valley. Recently I went to reuse some of the paint and all the cans & lids were rusty, even though they have been stored indoors. The remaining paint in the cans is no longer usable as they are filled with rust chips. As I was standing in line the person behind me, a professional painter, said he had 10 cans that were the same. I brought in another can of paint from a different company to show them that other cans don't do the same thing. what they told me was they would give me a new (empty) can and I could strain it myself. Are you kidding me. Very poor customer service by Sherwin Williams.. supposedly it is their company policy no strain paint. Unlike other paint stores (Benjamin Moore) I've been to in the past. Bottom line, it isn't the stores fault but don't buy Sherwin Williams paint unless you plan on using the whole can... the rest will go to waste and at $60 a gallon that's no right. Back to Benjamin Moore for me. read more

After taking time to try to match paint myself, there were four people ahead of me, but not actively engaged in other the two employees, I stood in line for 30 minutes only to have my color matched only to be told by Edwin that I would have to work with the people my specialist to find a match. Basically comes down to him not listening to me and just wanting me to be handed off to someone else read more

Looks like a decent paint store. The place is a little small, but has a friendly staff which is always important. Picked up some good paint brushes while there. Unfortunately, this store doesn't have equipment to mix and match paint, no color matching. This location of Sherwin Williams is TOP NOTCH! The staff is amazing! The manager is super friendly and accomodating, as are ALL of the employees at this location. I have been going to this location for many years (back when it was Frazee Paint) because it is close to my house. This is the first time I had been there since it became Sherwin Williams. I was so surprised by how much better the service was! I decided to have the interior of my home painted, but couldn't decide on the right color. Hailey was superb at giving me tips and suggestions on my colors. All of the associates at this location are knowledgeable, helpful and friendly. I love their small samples that you can have mixed up in just a few minutes for about $7. The nearby hardware store wanted $25 for a quart size of a paint color I wanted to try. Instead, I went to Sherwin Williams and got the same color in their paint for $7! If you're a local homeowner who likes to pick his/her own paint and needs to visit a paint store rather than having your contractor do it, I highly suggest the Carmel Valley location of Sherwin Williams - even if you don't live nearby! The professional and friendly staff - Omar (the manager), Kevin, Jaron, and Hailey will not disappoint you! They will go above and beyond to make sure you are happy!
