SUPER STOKED WITH THE RESULTS!!!!! I contacted Justin for a quote to paint my 15 year old, small, backyard basketball court (25' width x 24' length) and his quote was very competitive with other companies. I wanted a light blue free throw lane/key and the rest dark blue and also a Jordan jumpman logo. We originally scheduled Wednesday, January 28th but he was able to start on Tuesday, January 27th. I also had a concrete repair company come on Sunday, January 25th to repair some long cracks and patch up several small holes in the concrete. On Tuesday, It took about an hour or two for us to measure the "regulation size" free throw lane. Once we were happy with the measurements he snapped the guidelines and put down some painters tape and he used an electric blower to clean the court. He started painting the same day and he came back on Wednesday to finish the job. Overall, I believe he applied 2 coats of each color. He was honest about his Jordan logo stencil not looking perfect so we agreed to not do the logo. Nevertheless, I was very happy with the aesthetics for just two colors and white lines. Look at the before and after photos! He used a type of paint that keeps cool to the touch even with direct sunlight. We have not played basketball yet so maybe I'll do an update on the texture/grip of the court. Don't you love spending money on home improvements? Stop analyzing that question, it was most definitely facetious. The answer is a resounding "NO," but while spending money is never fun the end result is often worth it. For me, having an eyesore of a cinder block wall painted in my backyard was something I wanted done but I didn't want to do. This is where Frankfather Painting comes in. After contacting Frankfather Painting, Justin gave me a very reasonable quote, which was significantly lower than what we'd been quoted in the past so I jumped at the opportunity to have the job done. I did offer to pick up the paint and did also make sure the wall was thoroughly power-washed before Justin showed up. He took one look at the amount of paint that I grabbed and quickly declared that he knew it would not be enough paint to do the job properly. This is where the story gets good... Not wanting Frankfather to miss a beat or to waste any time on the job, I offered to quickly run back to Sherwin-Williams to grab more of the same paint that I picked up earlier (I only live about 10 minutes from the paint store) while Justin got things ready. Upon returning home, and to my absolute shock, Justin was already done taping off the entire area and applying all the paint that I had previously purchased. Ummm... this dude is beyond fast. He then took the new batch of paint, loaded it up in the sprayer and tackled a few more layers on the wall as she was a thirsty gal, soaking up every drop applied by Justin's trusty hands. Within about two hours Justin was done with the job and loading his van to head home. My wife and I were baffled with how fast he was done as we would have surely taken all weekend to complete a job like the one we had Justin do. I need to paint the eaves on my house. Seems like a simple thing to do but I went through two contractors because something seemed to always get in the way when it became time to paint my house and it wasn't a weather. Since the property management hired this company the work is shotty. Old paint was not scraped off before applying new paint and makes it look half done. Cleanup is horrible le with razor blades being left around the property as well as inside, while there are tenants in the building which is a safety concern and is the responsibility of the paint crews to keep it clean and pick up after. The painter when outside my window were talking disrespectfully about an elder tenant upstairs who has mental issues with no regard for what they were saying, this is a company I would not hire at all but that is my opinion based on the work or lack of with this company. read more

Justin and his team just completed painting my house (single story, 3000 square feet) exterior.The whole process from the moment I contacted him about a bid through completion of the job has been a pleasure. I did not know him at all as he was recommended by a friend. He responded to my first contact with him the very same day as my call and met with me the following day to walk the job, determine the scope of work and give me a price to do the work. I had 3 bids that were very comparable and after refining the final scope and price, I awarded him the job. He was not able to start immediately but gave me a start date for about a month after we concluded our agreement and told me he would start the job on a certain date and began the project on the originally scheduled commitment date. They power washed the exterior and completed the job in four days. Justin was the only contractor to give me a written cost breakdown and conducted the work with quality. He says what he is going to do, does it with quality and is really good person. I also have to complement his friendly and very competent crew members. Justin is a liar and did a less than professional job. I'd I could zero stars, I would. We specifically asked Justin for a particular NO VOC paint by Sherwin Williams, Harmony. We had specific reasons as to why we wanted no VOC paint. After we explained precisely what we wanted, Justin told us that the no voc super paint I wanted was not good quality and should use regular Super Paint on stead. After his description, we agreed to go with his advice since he is the expert, or at least we thought he was. I've since spoken to Sherman Williams, and that's Bs. The paint I wanted is more expensive so his profit would have been less. The day of the job, he showed up with two guys who he left painting the two bedrooms. Justin got in his truck and drove away, never to be seen again. The two bedrooms were unusable for at least a week because of the strong and nauseating odor of the paint. They also painted the inside track of our heavy blackout curtains (which are not visible to anyone) and this required that we replace all the curtain tracks as they were now unusable and have to buy new ones and play for their installation. Prior to the paint job, we had the electrician move a light switch. We texted Justin photos of the dry wall and he said he could fix it. HE DID NOT FIX IT. His guys merely painted over it, it was textured differently than the rest of the wall and looked like garbage. IN THE MIDDLE OF THE WALL there was a "rough patch" that looked off. We then had to pay someone extra to re-drywall that area and to repaint because it looked so obviously wrong. All in, we paid for this project, and extra for his mistakes : new curtain tracks and rod installations, drywalling and repainting. He also misquoted us on the cost of the paint and on the day of he said he needed extra money; it was one of the most unprofessional paint experiences I have ever had. I would not recommend this company to anyone. In addition to the extra cost, I really regret taking his advice for low VOC paint instead of the no VOC paint I had wanted. I have absolutely no faith in his rationale and now I have to live with VOCs. read more

Our job was very difficult, the old pain was peeling and old. They power washed and repaired where necessary. We had a lot of trim and over hangs. Justin and his helper did a great job!! Justin took my $500 CASH and never looked back. Justin gives hardworking tradesmen a bad name! I was referred to Justin by a reliable friend who stated that Justin did his house in Escondido, so I called Justin to give me a quote on my condo. Justin drove from up north on 7/23/18 and quoted me $500 for my living room, 1/2 bathroom, kitchen ceiling and walls, entrance, and a small part on the stairwell. Justin told me to buy all the paint and said to buy a total of 4 gallons (1 gallon flat paint for the living room ceiling and entrance, 1 gallon velvet for the living room walls, 1 sea salt paint for the 1/2 restroom, and 1 SEMI- GLOSS for the kitchen ceiling). We had scheduled to have my house painted on 7/30/18. However, during the week prior to him coming to paint the house, Justin texted me saying, $500 CASH. I agreed to pay him in CASH. We agreed to meet at my house at 8am, but Justin texted me 7:15am stating that he was close. I thought that was great of him being punctual (Hence, 2 stars). When I arrived, I brought him and his partner cupcakes and muffins for breakfast (he took my kindness for weakness). Justin walked into my house and complimented the dry wall job (My house had water damage from upstairs washer and it damaged upstairs and downstairs walls and ceilings were damaged). Justin said that the dry wall people did a great job. Therefore, I expected him to do a great job and I left to do his work. He started painting about 8:30a.m and he told me that he'll give me a text when they're almost done (so I can come by and pay him). I received a text an hour prior to the completion, so my wife and I went to the house check out his work, but it seems as if he was in a rush. I noticed he looked nervous, so I had asked him if he had another job to do. He replied, "Yes! In North County!" Normally tradesmen would show their work to their customers after it has been completed, but it looked like he was ready to leave. I had to ask him to show me around otherwise he would've have left without showing his work, and when I did asked him to show me around he looked pissed as if I was taking his time. The house was wet from paint, and I understood how paint works, but I showed him one section and he redirected the answer, so I trusted him because he is the "expert". Well, instead of painting the whole wall, it looked like he just tried to do a cover up and painted a circle. My wife didn't like his painting, but I told her to wait until the paint dries because wet paint does not do justice. Also, I wanted to cover my butt because I just paid him $500 hard earned CASH for a 2 HOUR JOB. Well, we came back 7 hours later and it was really a poor job. The kitchen was originally semi gloss, but he painted it flat white. He stated that I should've told him prior, but we had agreed because Justin told me to buy semi gloss. He then argued that it was my fault and that it's a 20 minute job and that he is NOT driving from Escondido to do a minor work in the South Bay. Well, it should be quality work and treat customers the way you want to be treated. If it was done correct the first time then this wouldn't be an issue. He looked like he noted everything when he quoted me on 7/23/18, but he must've lost that paperwork or didn't care. Professional's make sure customers are hapoy! He didn't do a good job as I highly expected and Justin was complaining as if it's my fault. I felt I got ripped off for my $500 CASH. Had I known his poor job and fake Yelp reviews then I should've hired Home Depot stragglers elementary school students, or senior citizens in a nursing home. They probably would've done better, and for cheaper. The dry wall work came out perfect, but poor job on the painting from Justin and his company. Please take your CASH elsewhere. Don't get ripped off like me! Have a company who will write up receipt of their work and guarantee a good job. If you are reading this please GO ELSEWHERE!!! (Please see pictures that I posted). Justin went above what I thought another contractor would do by bringing to my attention the paint chosen (I did not do the choosing) would make the house butt ugly.
