This Target gets the job done, but it's not my go-to anymore. The store itself feels a bit dated, and checkout is painfully slow every single time I shop in person. Long lines and not enough open registers seem to be the norm. The selection here is noticeably smaller than other Target locations, and many popular or top items are often out of stock. Value feels pretty mid-range - not bad, but not especially competitive either. The overall shopping experience is noticeably better at the Amazon Fresh around the corner, which has become my preference for regular grocery runs. That said, I do have to give credit where it's due: Order Pickup has been consistently reliable and accurate, which is mostly how I use this location now. It's the closest Target to me, so the convenience factor is there, but I've pretty much stopped coming here for regular grocery or shopping trips because of the in-store experience. Fine in a pinch, but there's definitely room for improvement. read more

My favorite Target location. Easy to get to and between home and work. They also have a great selection of all products, including their grocery section. The staff is usually very nice and helpful when you need to find something or have a y questions. It is always fairly busy yet the lines move quickly. This Target is in a smaller shopping center at the North end of Poway, not too far from the 4S Ranch location. So it's a good choice if you just need something quickly when you're nearby, like I was. To be fair, I don't go to Target as much as I used to years ago. My buying habits have changed a little, and I really only come here for a few items I can't get anywhere else that are one of the Target house brands. I bought a few other necessary items while I was here, but Target is just a little higher than Walmart for many items. And each Target may have slightly different prices based on the neighborhood or different factors like higher rent for a specialty location. So I go to Target occasionally, when I need something I can only get there. And this one is fairly easy in & out. read more

Went to Target last week to buy Carnation instant breakfast. Brought it home and went to open it yesterday only to realize it was past the due date. The date was August 25. I bought it on December 7. I'm sure it was probably fine but I needed to go back to Target for some other things so I decided to take it back. They have me a refund without any issues and apologized. Customer Service also called the person in charge of that area of the store to make sure there weren't any more on the shelves with the old expiration date. Located in a bustling strip mall, this target is a good location close enough to freeways to pick up any essentials needed. I came in super early for a Pokémon card release, and the staff made sure everything ran as smoothly as possible so people waiting for releases did not impact people who were going in for their regular shopping. Management has releases down to a well oiled machine, everyone in line has a fair chance to get products that drop for that day. While not all items are known to be released until that morning, most everyone understands it's not the staff's fault for not getting everything they hope for! All staff are super helpful and friendly (even to a bunch of people showing up for trading cards)! read more

Went to this target to change our cellular service from (sprint) T Mobile to Consumer Cellular the two guy's in the electronics dept that are Consumer Cellular representatives are fantastic, got great service from them and Consumer Cellular. Customer service with T Mobile was terrible so they lost a long time customer. This Target store is very nice and convenient and they have a Starbucks inside. read more

One of the busiest locations I've ever been to over the years. Tons of parking but also people asking for either your signature for a petition or for spare change. This location does have both a Starbucks and a mini food court that offers pizza and icees. The pizza is limited to quantities on hand though. Lots of heavily marked down items compared to other Targets. Scored a few WWE Figures for my son and daughter. Staff are friendly and accommodating. I wouldn't hesitate to drop by here when in the area. read more

Prepare for the long post, I don't often like to post negatively. I try to give the benefit of the doubt but not this time. Ive had a love hate relationship with this location. Some very nice folks work here and also some very disrespectful folks borderline prejudice people work here. Due to my growing family and the convenience of drive up, I would come here out of necessity. I'll start with love, when 8 months pregnant a very pleasant individual gave me a compliment on what felt like my worst day, it was hot and his kindness brightened my day. When I shopped in store I could hear them always talking nicely with everyone. A smile on his face, he wears glasses and has curly hair. His sister recently had a baby sometime this year I believe. I don't know his name but he's marvelous. I've also had employees who blatantly ignore me, an elder woman was so kind to the white woman behind me but made me seem like I was an inconvenience for her to serve. I had my children who while well behaved it was nearing nap time and she skipped over me to offer a shorter line to the woman behind me even though clearly it should have been offered to me especially since I had fewer items and she paused her transaction and the gentle before me who was next to tell the woman. When I told management (I take offensive acts very personally because no one should be treated differently based on their appearance) they didn't seem to care and told me to call customer service. (WOW! Most places will take note and at least offer to discuss with employees to try to prevent in the future but not here this day.) Not until I spoke to target online did I get someone who cared. I've purchased a gift card here before and during check out the man rolled his eyes I asked if he was okay and he ignored me, was rude again to me and I simply stated it wasn't kind and still nothing. Earth to guy...why are you so rude? I told the manager and was told oh I'm sorry here's a $5 gift card if you'd like? No thanks. Self check out is always closed now so expect long lines. There is no express line so whether you have 2 items or not you'll be stuck behind carts full of folks. No wonder more people are refusing to shop in store at target. I used to enjoy shopping in store here (I'd always spend more) but now between the long lines, repeatedly rude customer service and poor restock I drive up or go to other target locations. read more

i bought 33 packs dragon ball z trading card game .. i opened one pack .. and it was tampered with ! all the packs were open from the side you cant tell when you see them but when you look closely you can tell they were tampered with. i tried to take them back and get a return and they told me no , and said to call corporate then corporate told me to go back and speak to the manager again and they still couldnt help me. They said they havent except returns for cards for years . But obviously either someone returned these and they hung them back on the hangers . Or some employee opened them and hung them back . Theres no way a card vendor would sell opened packs . I buy cards here all the time and they cant get even help me out get a gift card ? I definitely will tell all my friends and family to never shop here ever again . read more

I was sold a fake Apple watch from this location. Their customer service is a joke... David (supervisor / manager), Joesph (supervisor / manager), Carrieann (director) Long story short... I ordered the watch for online pick-up and went to the Target on my lunch break the following day to pick it up. I went to the front desk and gave them my name and they handed me over my purchase. Before leaving the parking lot I opened the box and realized the watch band was not the correct watch band that I had ordered and what was advertised on the box. The box picture was the correct band but there was a totally different band in the box so I went into the store and told them the watch band was not the correct watch band that I order and asked if they had the one that I ordered. They did not, so I said no worries I will keep this one. I went back out to my car and tried to charge my new watch so that I could wear it once I got back to work. Before putting my car in drive, I realized the watch charger was not connecting properly to my watch... It was like putting two magnets together and the force was counteracting with each other. I even tried an old charger from my previous watch which I had in the car and same issue. I immediately went back into the store and said I am not sure what is going on now, but my watch will not connect to the charger. The worker, who was the manager took a look at it and tried to connect it and was having the same issue as well. I asked if we can do an exchange for a new one and he said I will not be able to exchange it until we can turn it on so that I can see the serial number. I replied with "the serial number is listed on the box, isn't it?" In which he replied "yes, it is, but we need to match the serial number on the watch to the serial number on the box since you left the store." I stated that I never left the parking lot, and I had to come back in now 2 separate times since purchasing it in a matter of 10 minutes because two separate things were wrong with it. I was told by the manager that there was nothing they could do until it turned on because that is their policy and that I would need to take this issue up with Apple Services. I responded and said, "So you are telling me there is nothing you can do and that I have to leave the store with a watch that won't turn on that I just spent $800 on?" In which he responded and stated "yes, that is our policy". (At this time, I did not know it was fake I just thought it was a broken or had an issue with it" I left and called Apple Services right away and they told me I could either mail them the watch or I could take it to the Apple store. I went directly to the Apple store from there which the employee confirmed with me that it was fake. I took pictures of the watch next to the real watch in their store and I had Apple write up a statement on it which they sent to my email and printed out for me. Apple also notified me that the watch band was also fake... they said we never made the Alpine Loop in the color black before. After leaving the Apple store I called the Target back and spoke with the manager again and told him that I just left Apple, and they confirmed the watch is fake. "Can I come back to the store, and we can deal with this issue the correct way?" He responded with "I already told you in the store what our policy is, there is nothing we can do for you." At this point I am baffled. The next day I called and spoke with the director which was very rude, and she told me if the manager told me that, then that is their policy they go by. I asked if she could email me their policy and she responded "No, I do not have to do that. I am busy running a store." I called 2 seperate Target locations and spoke to their managers and they both told me as that is NOT a policy of Target and that they are lying. I sent a letter to the local news station about this issue. I filed a police report. Most unprofessional people. I wouldn't be surprised if this was an inside job. read more

Went to Target after breakfast with my son to pick up some birthday gifts. We looked around and got everything we needed. They have a really nice selection of birthday cards. I'm partial to the funny ones. I found the cool Halloween shirt but they didn't have my size. (See the pic) The wonderful team member Emily searched the database to see if they had my size. I have been to this Target countless times, usually having a curbside order every week or so. Today, I had a really pleasant experience for my curbside order, thanks to Chelsea. The interaction was pleasant, professional, and seamless. My husband and I felt that the quality of service we received today was better than any other Target experience we have had in the past. Google again didn't post my review. Target has been my go to for most of my home essentials shopping for many years. However the shopping experience has been going downhill ever since they started limiting and reducing the use of their self check out. Now you will have to deal with the unfriendly and sometimes rude cashier. You will have to deal with the difference in quality of customer service based on your race and gender. You will have to deal with the long lines when they only have limited cashiers open, and wait for them to slowly scan each item and chat with their "desired demographic" of customers. It seems even with so many new technologies, everything is going backwards. I do not believe people will ever be "colorblind" and genuinely drop their prejudices . Only machines won't discriminate. Will be looking for a new place to shop at. read more

The Target at Grossmont Center, La Mesa has got to be the worst of all of them. I am not going to focus on anything but their electronics section. Because I travel a lot, I have visited several times every Target in the San Diego area. These include Targets in El Cajon, Santee, the College Grove area, Mission Valley, Sports Arena, Spring Valley, Balboa Ave and Poway. However, the Grossmont Center Target is closest to my home and I go there very frequently. Their BluRay, 4K and DVD section will go weeks without any additions or changes. It is regularly so bare that people throw their candy wrappers, finished drinking cups, clothes and books they decided against and other junk on the almost empty shelves. In the meantime, the boys who are working in the electronics section are always seen just standing around there joking around and doing absolutely nothing. Where the heck is their supervisor. I rarely see them actually helping any customers. The other Target stores usually keep a nicely organized film rack well ordered and stocked. Perhaps their boss is one of them; all getting paid for completing no work at all. A shame. read more

First time venturing out to this target. I needed to stop by to pick a few items and as always the darn dollar spot gets me. This one wasn't stocked up though, some bins were empty. Parking is plentiful and their is free EV charging stations! The store is pretty big and has a Starbucks inside. I was able to find everything I needed easily. I really like the decor items out right now very spring and fresh. I wanted to find single bottles of my eye drops but they sold two packs. I needed contact solution also but they ran out of the smaller bottles. It was completely out of stock. Not sure if I came too early and they didn't have time to restock yet which is surprising. Plenty of self check out stations made getting in and out quickly easy. Overall not a bad target will only come back if I am in the area again. read more

So 2 hours later I showed up to pick up my order, but the employee working at customer service told me that it wasn't ready yet because they were really far behind. I asked when it would be ready and she said it wouldn't be ready until sometime later that night. If this Target location was really that far behind in their work, then maybe 1 of the 3 employees that were laughing with each other out under the tent in the parking lot should have been helping out inside instead. The simple fact that they couldn't fill an order of only 4 small items within 2 hours is pretty sad and it shows just how incompetent their manager must be. Do not come here for toys. Especially any collectible or hard to find item that has a greater value in a secondary market like eBay. Employees are clearly taking the pick of the litter before stocking shelves. This is not a recent trend but it's never been more clearly defined than today. As a collector of Hot Wheels (yes I'm a nerd, don't hate) I frequently pop in to the store to see what's in stock and without exception the answer is: nothing good. All sought after cars are gone and all the remains are the fantasy cars (cars with no real life analogues) and American cars that most people don't care for. The is especially true for the more expensive premium cars. These cars usually get about two rows worth of real estate and I've never ever ever seen a decent one at this store. Previously I just chalked it up to other consumers having bought them all. Today, however, I went in and found two rows fully stocked! Great! Best day ever! Right? It would have to be! Wrong, wrong, wrong. While the two rows were fully stocked they had only two of the five cars available in the release. Now the boxes don't ever come with just one or two cars in them. The boxes are filled with a random assortment of the five cars in each release. So for two rows to be completely filled with only the two most undesirable cars (the American cars have very little value above retail typically and are often worth less than retail) is a near statistical impossibility. Assuming 20 cars on the rack the probability of them all being only 2 of the 5 cars is 0.0000000109951163% (I mentioned I was a nerd, right?). I mean the rows were filled to overflowing. As you can see from the photos there are only two cars on the display. None of the cars are made in any greater or lesser quantity. Is it possible that this is all just coincidence? Sure. Is it probable? Nope. Bottom line? Just save your time and gas and drive someplace else that hasn't been scavenged by the employees. read more

This target is located in a great shopping center. There are a variety of places to eat and then shop at target for needed items. The store has wide aisles and a huge selection of clothes, food, houseware, toys, electronics and more. The store is well kept and has 3-4 times as many toys than Walmart. This is great if you have kids. There are great specials at times with fantastic prices. We go to target for their great houseware goods and toys. They also had a big variety of sporting items. We went there for basketball hoops. We found one there on sale n got 40% off what Dicks spotting goods wanted for the same hoop. Great deal! Service is nice and attentive. Horrible experience. RIDICULOUS customer service. I placed an order online and chose the drive up for pick up. Before even driving to the store, I went on the app to let them know I'm on my way. I arrived, updated on app "I'm here." It was busy, understandably so, as it's days til Christmas. So I waited patiently. But then a half hour past, and I was getting pretty impatient, though I saw others also waiting in their cars for awhile as well. I tried calling customer service but it just kept ringing. Called twice. Then I happened to check my email and saw their email saying that my order was canceled "per my request!!" I was sooo angry at this point after sitting in my car for so long and already making the drive! I got out of my car and approached the worker who was handing out orders to cars. She said she saw my order and asked me to go inside to guest services!! I went in and there was a super long line-- I did not go to! I approached a worker who was preparing orders and she tried to help me but then Emma, supposed manager, came to assist. I was then told my order was lost, they couldn't find it and so they canceled my order!! Just like that!! 4 items on my order, she got me one off the shelf and replaced 3 others with different items. 1 was a specific Lego Lamborghini that my son asked Santa for. She gave me Ford Jeep something! Ughh! I was sooo furious!! All I got was a "scripted" apology and a here's a $10 gift card for your inconvenience!!! $10 for my drive to the store, waiting at drive up for nothing, email surprise my order is canceled, lost my order and sorry son, Santa fu*ked up! I asked to speak to higher management. She gave me a number to some customer relations who was worse than she was, more fake apologies and waste of my time then she transferred me to the senior specialist who offered to have the item (Lego Lamborghini) shipped to my home but I would have to pay the shipping fee!!! For an order that they lost and cancelled!!!!! They had nothing to offer me really, wasted more of my time and gave me attitude. I went back on the app and tried to order it again as it said it was still in stock though I knew it wasn't true. Then when I got notification that it was indeed out of stock, it gave me option to have it shipped to me for Free instead! So why did the senior specialist want me to pay??? I love Targets and have been a customer for a long time. But this recent event forced me to write this negative review as I feel they could have been taken care of the issue but they chose not to. Recently I got scammed with two gift cards (one Visa and other Amex and both of value of $50) bought from Pomerado Rd. Target. The cards are gift for my friend who got recently married. To our surprise, when they opened the cards, both of them are tampered. Numbers are scratched and there are no balance. I went back to Target to complain about it. The lady was nice and communicated with me decently and politely said they are not liable for this and I need to call Visa and Amex customer care. When I asked how come Target is not validating the cards that they are selling, to which she said someone stole these cards, tampered and returned back to the store. Shouldn't target have some security system to find this? She also mentioned they are experiencing this scamming reports for sometime and that is why they removed all Gift Cards from the store. If they knew this, shouldn't have they informed the customer? Shouldn't have they put a notice at least to notify us not to buy any card as they are not selling this anymore. If they are not part of scam why don't they alert customers. Why are they not checking for unaccounted gift cards hanging out there if they have decided not to sell them for time being. I know Target has nothing to do with this scam but I feel they could have taken care of this issue quickly and efficiently so that customers are not getting scammed. read more

This is actually becoming my favorite place to drop by. Something good happened for Liang yesterday so I decided to get some oreo cookies and cream ice cream as a way to celebrate. Of course walking in, I decided to go by the clothes section, because you know me - why not walk around to see if there is anything else that I find interesting. Unplanned First stop - as I walked by - women section. T-shirts by Mossimo Supply were on sale for $5. And...I have "worn" Mossimo somewhat due to "borrowing" my boyfriend's shirts on the occasion that I was just in the mood to wear them over my own. Result: I brought 3 shirts - colors relatively the same to his. Unplanned Second stop - as I continued my walk - men section, I spotted swimming trunks. 20% off - original price $24.99, mean they were around $20 give or take. Result: I ended up buying the wrong size but it was easy to exchange. Planned stop - which ended up being the Third stop - Oreo Cookies & Cream Ice Cream - grabbed off the freezer rack and into my bag and I was done. Customer Service has always been nice whenever I had to returned anything or exchange. I had always brought the receipt and never had any problems. Usually find whatever I need, and I am in and then out quite quickly. There may be lines at times but usually it filters through very quickly. read more

I wanted to buy red grapes, but the shelf they were on was wet and sticky, spoiling the bottom layer of the fruit. I chose green grapes instead, but the checker could not get the bar code to scan at the register. I wound up telling her the price I saw on the shelf. This Target is among the largest. It is well stocked in general, except there are empty shelves in cleaning supplies, health products and groceries during the pandemic. In-store shopping is pleasant with masking, social distancing, etc. being observered. We use the curbside pickup service most of the time placing orders on the Target mobile app. Wait time upon arrival is lower here than at the other Targets in the area. Overall, this is our favorite Target. read more
