Horrible service. I came to buy an Ulta gift card on February 13, when my wife opened the gift card, it was a "Starbucks" gift card with a fraudulent barcode on the back. I went to my local dollar tree to try and get a refund, but they told me to go to the dollar tree in Mira Mesa because I bought it there and they can issue me a refund but when I went, they told me they were not able to issue me a refund and try and call corporate. I then explain to the manager that corporate was not helping me and she then said there's nothing she can do and walked away after I told her I need my refund because corporate is not helping. I went to this Dollar Tree in Mira Mesa this afternoon to get some dog treats. The store was very busy, with only one cashier. I placed approximately 25 items in my cart and wandered over to aisle 4, where everyone was lined up to check out. I was approximately 10th in line. When I finally got to check out, I placed all of my items on the scanning belt. Midway through scanning, the cashier said " We don't have any bags today." I stood there quite stunned. I asked how was I supposed to get these to my car without a bag? She said that I could put the items in the cart, go get the car, pull up to front of the store, get out, come in to get the cart, place items in my car, and return the cart. Really??? I told her to void the items that she had already scanned and said I would not be so inconvenienced. I told her that the store should be closed if no bags were available. Gosh, they could have at least put a sign on the front door to inform people before coming in to shop. There was a sign on the door " No balloons today." Manager, please open up more cashier lanes when a line is crammed with 10 customers. And, I highly recommend that your store has some as essential as BAGS, before opening up in the morning read more

This dollar tree is the same as any other dollar tree that I've been to except I have experienced service that was above and beyond. I was looking for white post board that I was gonna use at home. I was talking to my mom on the phone. We were on speakerphone. I said I was looking for white poster board and it was not available on the rack display. All of a sudden one of the ladies on the other aisle came over and said that she was gonna go at the back and check if there was any white poster boards available for me to buy. I was so amazed and impressed by her reaction in response to my concerns. Although she came out from the back to tell me that they're out of the white posterboard, still the kind of service that she gave was commendable. That is why I am making this review. My husband went into the Dollar Tree today to pick up some holiday cards, to his surprise there was a plethora of Christmas cards to choose from and for a great value. My husband raved about the superb customer service offered by the kind staff working at the Dollar Tree Mira Mesa, three lanes were open and the staff were friendly and hard working. Exemplary service was offered by cashier attendant Diego. He was courteous, timely, and made my husband feel welcome. This service really seems to stem from the top down. The store manager Johnny welcomed customers and was very personable. Johnny genuinely cared for the customers and was setting a great example for his team. The store manager Johnny also modeled to all how a leader should be. He made sure his staff were comfortable and assured them that their breaks would be coming. I think more retailers should exemplify this as staff can feel overloaded during the Christmas Holiday Season. Good Dollar Tree where I can usually find items that I need for my arts & crafts as well as cleaning supplies for home. If I need better quality artsy items then I go to Michaels, but at this Dollar Tree I have found great findings. They keep changing their supplies, so if you find a deal of something that you like or frequently use, get a bunch of them (example: cheap hair color) because you won't always get the same if you go the following week. read more

I try not to go to this particular location in the Mira Mesa Mall because every time I do stop in, the shelves are close to empty or so jumbled up, you can't find anything. Checkout is usually a long wait for me, also....typically only one cashier with long lines. The manager of this location is I'll informed of ADA laws and and proceeded to yell at me and over me while I was attempting to inform him that my service dog provides a specific task and was presently in training. One of his tasks is to be off leash and seek my family out in case I have a medical emergency. Another of his tasks is to jump on me, giving me a hug to calm me down keeping me from seizing or having a panic attack. Which my service dog was required to do due to after being verbally attacked from the store manager. I was not breaking any rules, my service dog was never more than 2ft away from me at any point nor was he showing any signs of aggression or fear regardless of what the manager insists. The management felt that due to my dogs breed (German shepherd) he was required to be on leash because he would attack another PET he allows in his stores. The handler, upon me finally explaining myself and saying "he's being trained off leash due to my medical requirements, because I have epilepsy and if I get wrapped in a leash I could choke myself" he responded saying "that's fine, go ahead" suggesting it was okay for me to indeed choke and die on his store floor. I will indeed be contacting corporate. Nothing wrong with the store itself, just the shitty, Poorly informed, aggressive management who might I add, wasn't even in uniform. read more

Avoid the manager Andy if you can. He disappeared without a word when he was supposed to be helping us and was probably high. My husband and I let a cashier know we had a bulk online order to pick up. She paged Andy and he took several minutes to come out of the break room. He acted like he was high on drugs. After we let him know about the order pick up and asked us to wait and then helped a few other customers in line after us. He then got our order information and said he would go to the back to get it. After waiting for a long time come to find he just straight up disappeared from the store. My one stop when it comes to greeting cards, balloons and party decor. They have such cute gift wrapping and gift bags for only a $1 compared to other stores selling similar ones for much more. This location is pretty small but it has everything you need with less selection though. I learned that you cannot bring your own balloons into the blow up. My daughter and I wanted to check out this Dollar Tree. It's located right next to Marshall's. This store was busy as we entered. Long lines. As we walked around, we saw many cool things but my daughter wanted to look at the toys. She found something cool which was a dart board without the sharp needle like point. I checked it and it was safe. We also saw dolls and other stuff. Pretty cool location. Very busy but the lines went fast. The guy was very friendly and kind of funny. There wasn't too much room to move around inside. Up front there were balloons that you can get. Pretty descent place but I didn't find anything. Parking is right in front. One star is one star too many after my experience today. I got into line a little before 5pm. There were probably 3-4 people in front of and behind me. The other register had about the same number of people. After waiting for about 10-12 minutes, the person at the front of the line asked if the cashier would be coming back. The employee at the other register said the other employee left because the shift was over and he didn't have to tell us when their shifts ended. He was very rude and unprofessional. He did not provide any level of customer service whatsoever. There was no communication that the line would be closing and to move to another line. In fact, the register light remained on. the dollar store has everything!!! i was really surprise to see all the items they sell, home, school, kitchen, party, food, snacks, etc. Then again you get what you pay for... don't expect top quality brands/products. In terms of Dollar Trees this one is just okay. VERY disorganized compared to some of the stores I've been in (around the country actually) so I know they can do better. They do have a nice selection of food items in cooler, which is weird to me, but if you were hungry you could get something decent for $1. They have your typical nice selection of holiday items. We were there to purchase a bunch of plastic Easter eggs for newborn photos. You can't be a dozen plastic eggs for $1 honestly. They have craft items, pet things, books, toys, cooking tools, candles, cards, you name it! Some things are a real deal, some things are just cheap junk you probably don't need. So you can use your judgement on which are which. Parking isn't terrible either. The Cashier we got was rather indifferent but he wasn't rude so I'd say that's fine. You really can't beat the deals here! I come for gift bags and greeting cards mostly but almost always score new deals! I don't see why people pay $5-6 for gift bags that just get thrown away. They actually have nice non looking cheap ones here! I get greeting cards here for kids birthday parties as they too get thrown away. I'll splurge on nice gift cards for special friends elsewhere. Today I found my favorite toothpaste!!! I pay $3.50 for it at target so I was so excited to see it here!! I also only use foam hand soap it's the easiest to wash off. I found some here and got one to try out at home! This will be another deal as the ones I normally buy at target are $3 each. Sometimes my kids will get fun money from grandma and I took them here once to spend their loot. They seriously thought it was the best thing ever!!! It's doesn't feel very clean when you walk in and for this they lose a point. But there are excellent deals and you can often get name brands that cost $5 or $10 for $1. I like Dollar Tree. Yes, they sell low quality items (for the most part, but there are exceptions) but you get what you pay for. Unlike Dollar General which has a lot of items that cost over a dollar, every single item in Dollar Tree is just $1. There are several items that I get on a regular basis from Dollar Tree. Of course they are things that I don't care about the qualities so much, e.g. toilet bowl cleaning tablets, stationery, screwdrivers, just random schtuff. I don't think I will ever get their cosmetics and skin care products, I don't want to risk my skin / body / health. Other than the usual things that I get, they actually have a wide variety of products. Cosmetics, skin care, housewares, automotive products, and pet supplies... many things. And even pregnancy test!
