Filipino Filipino Filipino Pinoy pride on 100 and I'm here for it! I've been sleeping on CSU Thrift and shooting myself in the foot for not coming here sooner. My son loves to thrift and the selection here did not disappoint. Great customer service and huge bonus points for the scented candles. If you've been to thrift stores they unintentionally have a little funky smell but not here! Inside decor was entertaining to stare and admire while my son shopped. Find unique pins, hats, accessories and threads at a reasonable price. Definitely coming back and highly recommend!

Walking into this thrift shop as we love to do on our travels we were greeted by staff who is very nice. Their business model seems to be greet each person or group that visits and asks if this is the first time in shop or not, if so they'll give you a small tour of their shop, where everything is and what section has what. They tag all their merch with old 90s skybox and upper deck type sports cards which i thought was super cool touch to their store. They have section of Nike and vintage tees, jeans, outerwear, fleeces, lululemon, carhartt, dickies, and Harley gear. Cute shop would stop in again. Pricing seemed reasonable for vintage and they said they wash all their merchandise, which I'm inclined to believe as i didn't have the itch after leaving like other thrift shops.

Cute thrift store in Mira Mesa in the same plaza as HMart ! I was super stoked when I saw that they had a pretty solid lululemon selection, most of which were in my size. They have lots of graphic tees, sweatshirts, jeans + $15 Levi Jean rack in the back. I didn't end up getting anything but would definitely come back.

Really high quality vintage/thrift! In the same plaza as HMart, on the right hand side on the second floor. The shop isn't too big but it's super clean and well organized. It has very nice touches of decor all along the walls. The employees are really friendly and since we had never been there before, they showed us around and pointed out every section. The clothes are all clean and washed, and also labeled on every section and grouped by color. There's also 1 changing room in the back. They have a wide selection of tees and even some name brand stuff - carhartt, harley davidson, etc. They also have a rack for san diego sports teams - padres, chargers, sdsu. I've been looking for a vintage san diego chargers tee and I found the perfect ones! It's important to note the prices here are NOT thrift store prices, they are up there like $30 for shirts, and even $100-300 for the outerwear. It's pretty much retail prices. But I'm sure vintage online is even more expensive. Overall I had a pleasant experience, the store is really organized and nicely decorated, and they have a good selection of curated vintage items!

On the second floor of the plaza, CSU Thrift brings good energy and vibe - decorated with local and fandom memorabilia and selling everything from tees, jackets, shoes, bags etc. Everything is organized by section and color, and it's a cool experience even if you don't end up purchasing anything. Very welcoming employees and pricing is more so consignment over thrift with nfl, nike, carthartt brands. I appreciate that everything's washed beforehand too.

(RACIALLY PROFILED) Where do I begin...Short Filipino lady worker/Owner with short hair accused me of stealing and started screaming at the top of her lungs "HE's STEALING" VERY Loudly in the store in front of many people when I was leaving the fitting room because she counted the wrong amount of shirts. When I showed them I had nothing, she then proceeds to say "COME ON MAN I KNOW YOU STOLE IT"... intending because of my skin color.(THE SHIRT WAS WHERE SHE LEFT IT THE WHOLE TIMEEEE)... , After trying to embarrass me this lady then hides in the back without an apology because she felt d*mb...(yes an owner of the store), she was staring down me and my friend while shopping since entering And I have witnesses don't go here. Also Overpriced. VERY UNPROFESSIONAL. On March 3rd around opening time. What do you mean " You know I took the shirt"??? Who says that to customers???

The Space: *Beautifully curated…read more *I love how open it is *Easy to maneuver through the store *One fitting room so you might have to wait your turn *Mostly small-medium sizes, but I definitely saw large sizes as well The Prices: *Prices aren't bad considering how curated the shop is, the location is fairly easy to access, and the stock is high quality in my opinion *I bought 3 tops (each one between $30-$40) a Fossil necklace ($18) and a leather jacket ($100) The Service: *The owner was easygoing and did make it a point to make conversation when checking out ***My main issue (which I did bring up to her while I was checking out) was how I noticed that ALL the people who came in after me were warmly greeted. She made it a point to make eye contact with them and said "welcome in" with a smile to every single person -- .... But not me. I didn't receive a hello or a welcome or a smile, which wasn't a big deal to me at first, until I immediately became aware that every single other person received some kind of a warm, inviting hello who came in after me. She also always seemed to be watching me moreso than anyone else......which I thought was a bit odd as well Mind you, I am Half Mexican/Half Black and all the other girls/1 guy who walked in were all Asian or White, so I must assume my ethnicities are the reason I was initially ignored :( Regardless of the difference in treatment, I still purchased my items from the store, because I'm already inside and I like what I like, ya know? Usually I would walk out when I notice other people get treated different than me, but I decided to not let it bring me down this one time. BUT - did it hurt my feelings to visibly see how other people were treated in a way different than me. Of course, it really hurt my feelings to be honest. I believe everyone should feel welcomed into a shopping space - and from a business standpoint, everyone should be treated equally. While it might seem like a small thing, it represents a much larger value, which is the reason it's important for me to bring up. If I'm literally the only 1 out of 7 people who is treated a certain way, well that's a pretty obvious sign that something is wrong right there. It hurt and made me feel sad after I reflected back on the experience. *Overall, I was really excited for this place, so it's a shame I left feeling the way I did. And who knows, maybe I will come back considering I'm all for 2nd chances, but it's hard to say at this moment. ---------------------------------------------- Response to Owner's Comment: Thank you for responding, but unfortunately I'm now confused. When I brought it up to you in the store, you said I didn't get any acknowledgment because you were "maybe in the back" - but now you're saying that it's because you were observing the other 2 girls who were already in the store when I came in???....so which is it? I'm sure you can understand how it's a little hard for me to accept your apology when I'm receiving two different reasons? Were you in the back or were you observing people? How can I accept an apology when you don't even know the reason you initially ignored me? ---- To say that you were unable to speak to me and welcome me in because you were looking at something is quite silly, and doesn't make any sense. Considering that didn't stop you from acknowledging all the other 6 people who came in after me. Besides, your store is one room. If you're looking at a customer, you're basically also looking at the front door. The logic isn't quite adding up. It's quite easy to observe something while simultaneously acknowledging someone. I'm sure you were preoccupied with something every time a new person came in, but you showed them the respect of still acknowledging them. I'm the only one who didn't receive that respect. Do you know how hurtful it is? :( ---- While you also are a minority, I as a light-skinned brown girl, was clearly shown different treatment from the asian women who stepped into the store. I appreciate you writing back to me, but unfortunately I can't accept an apology at this time if it doesn't appear to be truehearted, especially if you're giving me different reasons about why it even happened. That just doesn't make sense. Warm regards

Since I suffer from that, I figured I may as well try to correct my ergonomics. Thus, the search for a good chair was on! BB had bad neck and back pains and got a Herman Miller Aeron, and that helped tremendously. After doing more research, I decdied to get a Steelcase Leap V2. The Leap V2 and the Aeron are basically the two best chairs for ergonomics from what I could read. Next, find the chair! I knew that buying one new for 2000 was out of the question, so I started looking for used ones. I reached out to SD Office Furniture Outlet (who we got the Aeron from) but they didn't have what I was looking for at the moment. After doing some more research, I read that someone got a great deal on several leap V2's at the UCSD surplus store. So I immediately went to their site, searched their listings, and found a good condition leap V2 for 225! Score! Some items are auction style like ebay, and some are buy it now. The chair was buy it now. After doing the buy it now, I got an email saying I had won, and to contact them or make an appointment online to pick up. I chose the latter and made an appointment for several days out. Well, that day was today and I went to pick up the item. At first I got lost but I called the number on the website and they directed me to ste 400 ( I was at ste 100). I went in, checked out the chair, paid, got a receipt, and was on my way! Excellent place to score on some good finds. Note, like most second hand places, all sales are final here. They do accept credit card as well. They have a lot of different stuff on their site so it's worth checking out if you are in need of furniture or other goods. Would highly recommend.

On the other hand there has always been something about this MCX that has been a little off to me. This weekend I finally put was able to put my finger on what exactly that was. The first thing about this MCX is that it is oddly laid out. The building is wider than it is deep, and this lends itself to a strange feeling layout to the store and it's various departments The other thing is the registers are strangely located, and there are very few of them, so even when the MCX isn't very busy it takes a while to get through the checkout line. The last thing is the hours. Maybe they're exactly the same as other bases that I've been on, but the hours here seem very strange. They don't seem to make a lot of sense, and they seem to close very early. Also, the barber shop here it closes at unreasonable hours all the time. The complex itself is also not super convenient to get to, and it's pretty spread out once you get inside of it, with a lot of medians between the different avenues and lanes you're going to try to get to. So yeah, not the best MCX not the worst MCX.

The pricing is not geared toward the lower ranks but rather the officers. Or they can do layaway if that is still offered. Even though it's tax free it is still high. Prices are a lot better at Burlington, TJ Maxx, Ross, or Kohl's as far as home decor and clothes are concerned. On the upside this place is huge and there is a large selection of clothing, household goods, televisions, small appliances, etc. It is very bright and clean. They have started to display Christmas decorations and trees. But not all have pricing. I was shocked that the ones that had the stickers were ridiculously overpriced!! A cute wooden snowman about 5" was $24.99! What? Please allow me to go to the thrift shop! There is a huge collection of designer purses/bags like Louis Vuitton, Michael Kors, Frye, Brahmin, Patricia Nash, etc. I was shocked to see LV there! Sorry but I cannot see myself buying with my hard earned money an LV purse at that exorbitant price. My money can be better spent elsewhere but not knocking anybody else that has lavish taste (like my sister ) and can easily afford it! It's very clean, bright, and organized. When I was peering at the plethora of designer purses (hubby was getting nervous-LOL!) and internally gasping at the high prices I noticed 2 of the employees watching me. Neither came over to offer assistance. It felt more like they were judging me just by their demeanor & body language. I can afford to buy one of these luxury bags but refuse to waste my money just for some semblance of status. I prefer to bargain shop so unless they have a great sale here I doubt that I would return.
