opening day poster for new clearance center
    Kinley W.

AS OF MAY 1st 2025 this store is now a "clearance center" the cashier said out of the 4 amvets stores in their SoCal district they chose the midway location to experiment & see how it would do like the "bin stores" that goodwill does. the prices are better but the selection is much much worse. this is no longer a place to search for good finds but more so where to go when you've got time to kill and want to dive through bins.

Everything is in bins and hard to look through now. Update: photo from 5/2025. The bins are only a 1/4 of the way full now.

I'm so sad to see that this store is putting clothing in bins now. It's really difficult to look through and not worth the time to do so. Based on some other reviews, I see that clothing will be sold at a set price and this will be a clearance center. So sad how much it's changed. I miss the furniture and household goods they used to sell too. We lost another good thrift store.

No more organized clothing racks, just bins full of mismatched items. They aren't even that full so very low stock of items to choose from.

This used to be one of my favorite spots to find kids clothing and other finds. Walked in today to find d the whole place changed. Now it's just a big room full of bins that you have to sift through. This idea is horrible and so disorganized. The bins hold various items that don't belong in the same category. Crossing this place off list of great thrift stores in the area. Very dissatisfied and will not return.

Bins, and only half full bins at that.

This used to be a favorite stop for thrifting, they used to have so much in selection, for both clothing and housewares. My latest visit found me saddened by the all the bins. I'm not the only one, a couple of fellow shoppers felt the same way. Not even worth it to pick through, 5 mins I'll never get back resulted in a mix of kids clothes, dated dresses 3 sizes too big, and mens pants just all piled together, just junk. Won't be coming back, and from the conversation with a couple of fellow shoppers. I'm not the only one feeling this way. Sad.

Besides the fact that parking is a frank issue in this location, what with currently unenforceable requirements to pay for parking (either managed by the private lot or by the City), assuming this is also meant for people who are just stopping by to drop something off, this location is small but very quaint. It is very prone to being very crowded. However, the décor is a worthy sight for sore eyes: it truly is a lovely setup they have. I encountered a couple of lovely women who appeared to be running the shop, and inquired about how much clothing they're willing to take. It seems that they can only take a heavily limited amount of such, and I was able to drop off a kitchen trash bag's worth of clothes. I didn't complain, because I understand (at least mostly, since I fully realised and acknowledged it shortly after I left) the limited capacity they have to work with. The entire transaction was painless and easy. I do recommend stopping here for the reasons above, and to be reasonably wary of the environment you will be getting yourself into. I plan on coming here again if I ever have to donate anything in particular.

We met Hannah and Hannah who were running the shop and they were absolutely lovely! You can tell they put so much time and effort into making this place what it is. The prices are so fair and what thrifting is supposed to be. Their clothing is $4 dollars and their shoes are inexpensive as well. Their knick knacks were also very well priced and I got a computer bag that was brand new for $12 dollars. They also had mystery fun bags and we HAD to snag one, for $3 it's worth it in the fun of opening it alone. We ended up with some blankets, hats, and a gps and we had a blast tearing it open in the car (we couldn't wait). They also are a plant shop with lots of greenery all over and plants to purchase. I have a black thumb so I stayed away but the prices for them were also unbeatable. I HIGHLY recommend checking this place out. We love how they've curated the space to be and it's so worth the trip.

The place is open and spacious which consists of various thrift shops showcasing their vintage items on a few racks. I love the concept of the thrift shop collective which allows you to shop at various stores! The clothes were clean, without stains, and were in excellent condition. Some of the pieces were basically like new! I found a gem, which was a white lace blazer that is perfect for the spring and summer. It was a great price! They also have a Photo Booth and a clean bathroom! I know some thrift shops that don't even have a bathroom and this one was cute with multiple stalls. I'm definitely coming back when I'm in Little Italy and will be bringing my daughter for some vintage finds.

There's lots of diff items for sale and clothes to explore on one side of the building. On the other side, they do offer plentiful fitting rooms, which is much appreciated. For this trip however, I didn't get a chance to check through much due to limited time, but I did get a chance to see what the hype was about with their vintage photobooth section. Currently they have 3 vintage photobooths installed (1 color and 2 in black & white). The line gets filled up quickly, but it also doesn't take too long to wait in (expect about a 10-15 minute wait). Keep in mind, the pics do happen quickly once you pay for it in the booth (it's through tap to pay/Apple Pay). As for the parking situation: it's Little Italy, so expect to circle around a few times or you could also just pay the fare and park/walk from a nearby parking garage. Will definitely be back!

THRIFT'ED I guess my…read moreclothes aren't "thrifty" enough to be sold at a thrift shop. I figure, when purging and downsizing or just doing early spring cleaning why not make a buck or two or NONE. They have a system where you scan a QR Code which puts you on a waitlist (on average 45-50m wait) and you don't have to wait in line, they will text you when your spot closes in. Majority people seem to do this regularly as they have these reusable thrift bags or they bring in suitcases of clothes - literally in suitcases. A buyer will go thru your clothes and pick and choose based on trend and what they can sell in their store. You then get store credit or chump change. Is it worth the wait, no. Even if you do sell a few items; it's not much. I've tried it twice - first time I came up with some lunch money on some very expensive clothes that still had their price tag. Second time, I came up with ZERO. This tells me I'm outdated or my style isn't that "thrifty" Gen Z look. Whatever I don't sell I just bring to Goodwill for donations and call it a day!

The cloths are a bit on the pricey side for second hand but I appreciate that they buy cloths so I don't mind spending a bit more. They have some fitting rooms in the back so you can try stuff on. All the staff are very friendly. Tips if you are selling them cloths, think about the season that it is/coming up, they tend to buy cloth that will sell fastest. The process of selling cloths was easy, they have a waitlist you can join either online before you show up or you can scan a QR code when you get there to join the waitlist. The waitlist is usually around an hour so I recommend doing it online. If you are not in the store by the time they call your name, they will text you to let you know and you will get bumped down the list. You will get more money for your cloths if you opt to be paid in store credit, otherwise for cash you get like half the price. There is no designated parking, it is all street parking.
