I have to say I've been a very long time customers since the very first DAISO opened!!!... What I LOVE to get are: SNACKS: They usually have the best prices and deals for getting snack like PIZZA CHIPS, RAMEN CHIPS, EDAMAME CHIPS, POTATO CHIPS and more! HIDDEN GEM: The okonomiyaki mix is the best here! And it also comes with the sauce. I just add some purple cabbage, mushrooms, eggs and shrimp and it tastes amazing!! Get it while supplies last!!!! The Hokkaido cream BUN is so delicious!! I first discovered it here at DAISO. I fell in love with a Hokkaido bun... There's so many cute things here. As much as I love finding cool things at Diaso, this place is going downhill while the prices are going up hill. You can now shop and purchase all of your items without ever being greeted by or even spoken to by a worker. Not good. Visited last night and there were 2 works, both on the floor stocking product. I walked by both and they did not say a word. When it was time to make my purchase, I walked to the counter...waited a couple of minutes to see if someone would offer to help....nothing. There are 2 self-checkout stations. Which is not always the easiest thing to figure out. The lack of customer service is just disappointing. read more

I heard about Daiso on a Reddit thread mourning group for the 99¢ store. RIP my old friend. I have been so excited to try this place out. Check out my photos of this fun place. Not a replacement for our beloved 99¢ store, but it's cute and a fun place to go with some decent deals. Highly recommend to check this one out. Cool selection of items and a fun place to browse. Great value for many items. A lot of bang for your buck. It's kitschy and campy, but it's sweet and wholesome. Love this store. They have such unique things. Snacks, candies, toys, Hello Kitty things, dishes, cleaning and kitchen stuff. They have a unique price system. There are stickers on each item and a guide on the ailse where you check how much that particular sticker costs. Really good pricing on most things. Always something cute to pick up here. I'm not really into stores like this. They have a lot of girly things. Make up, hair stuff, stuffed animals, and bags. All these things are themed for kids. I just cant with this shop. Cute shop! They've got a great selection of Sanrio accessories. I picked up a Badtz Maru and Hello Kitty bag to hold my golf tees. I love how everything is not only cost-effective (most items are around $1.75) but also cute and practical. They carry everything from Japanese snacks, kitchen items, and garden needs to seasonal decorations, cosmetics, office supplies, and arts and crafts. My girlfriend and I browsed every section, and our favorite was the Sanrio aisle. The customer service here is fantastic. Parking can be limited since this is a popular area. read more

This daiso seemed bigger than the one we went to in NY. It was clean, organized and had each section of products correlated with eachother. They also had a huge wall of plushies, pens and pencils, notebooks, snacks and other goodies. We mainly came in to check those items and the pricing was pretty good with sales on the yellow items. I really like the vast selection at this Daiso. Just moved to the area and was making an initial run-through of items that I needed here. The value was great - really affordable prices for great items. I managed to find rattan baskets for $10, which cost around $40 on Amazon so what a steal! I also found plant pots for $5 each, so honestly can't complain at all about that. The reason this place loses a star is due to a) the service is lacking here and b) the parking lot is a mess! Despite purchasing over $200 worth of items, the girl at the cash register told me they ran out of shopping bags. Since they were out of bags, I had to basically bring everything out of the store to my car by hand. She wouldn't allow me to take out any of the carts or baskets so I could at least move them to my car. It was really embarrassing carrying ALL THOSE ITEMS on my own out to that busy ass parking lot. And honestly, that interaction put a damper on my experience here. Especially considering it was their fault for not having enough bags. read more

If only I had more space in my carry on, I would have totally bought 5 stuffed animals. It was like stuffed animal GALORE in this Daiso! This was my first time visiting Daiso on the West Coast. I have been to Daiso in NYC, NJ, and Toronto and this was my favorite, by far. This Daiso is huge and has a much larger selection of everything, than all of the other ones I have visited. Shopping in Mira Mesa, San Diego, California... When I saw that a Daiso was nearby, I had to take a look. My friends, Karen and Ken, in Northern California had found some Tokidoki items and I wanted to get some for my friend at home. Yes, we have three Daiso locations on the Island of Oahu. However, by the time items get to us (and I get to the store), it's usually sold out. That's why, when I saw the Tokidoki magnets, I got one of each! I went through the store (since I was there) and found panda things for my sisters, a Hello Kitty hair clip, and a corn on the cob for me (for breakfast)! Haha! Daiso is still a fun store - even though the prices went up. The minimum price is now $1.75 (not $1.50 any more). The cute merchandise is worth it! This Daiso is my favorite because it's not too crowded. It's smaller, but I find more cute BTS BT21 options and various characters. I enjoy checking out the random paper bags, cellophane, teacups, snacks, and stationery. Everything is affordable, and your basket ends up filled with all sorts of random cute items. read more

I love Daiso but this is the second time I have picked out that weren't for sale. I spent an hour finding just the perfect thank you gift only to get to the register and be told the items aren't sale. It was close to closing so of course I couldn't go pick anything else. I believe this was one of the first Daiso's in San Diego. It's definitely the biggest with the best items. So much variety. However it is also the busiest it seems. Unless it's because I came during the holidays. Great items but the staff here aren't as friendly as other locations-again unless they were just overwhelmed with the crowd. Please remember and be mindful of the no return and no exchange policy. They have a lot more Disney licensed items here than when I last went here in the mid 2010s. Things are not base standard $1.50 but the quality and quirky inventory still makes this a fun store to look for basic foods. They start at $1.75. I got a couple of Disney random goods, tongs, Halloween decor, candy and a storage cardboard box among other items. I asked my fiancé and his Disney obsessed sister to play price is right and guess the costs of the items and they easily said $10-$15 bucks! Nope it was under $4 for the storage box. read more

Great location, has parking, but very crowded plaza, especially on Tuesday thanks to El Patron's Taco Tuesdays. Daiso is located right next to MeetFresh, In-n-Out, and H-Mart! Their store runs out of items so quickly, so not everything you're looking for will be in stock. If you see something you want, buy it because it might not be there next week! Some of my favorites include: -Bottle brush cleaner: how else am I supposed to wash all my water bottles ?? -Straw cleaner: as an avid reusable straw person, having straw cleaners at home are a must! -Gloves to wash dishes: the ones at Daiso are my favorite because they cover your forearms, so when you wash your dishes, your sleeves don't get wet -Snacks/Drinks: can I just say, their collection is great! However, SOME snacks/drinks may be a few cents cheaper at other stores Overall, recommend for the times when you need a place to walk around while you're waiting for those tacos on taco Tuesday's. read more

The kids and teens love this store. I think it is alright. This seems like an oversized convenience store you would find in Okinawa or mainland Japan, or pretty much most Asian countries. The majority of the store is home goods, the remainder is toys and food/drinks/candy selections. They have a pretty good selection of things most people like, but the prices are terrible. They are severely inflated, banking on the anime craze of America's youth. The stuffed animals are a better cost than many other places, but still price gouged at a 50%+ increase. The tags are only marked in yen and when asked, the staff said the store has its own set prices from yen to USD and that it does not follow the market value of yen. Of course they cannot keep changing the prices every single day, but a baseline should be kept, especially since the value of the USD and the yen seem constant with minor fluctuations. Attached are photos of two large stuffed animals of nice quality advertised for 1000 yen each, which is a little over $6 US. In actuality, they were about $12 each. This is just under a 50% markup in price from yen to USD. I like the quality of these items, but they should have some signs posted everywhere to illustrate the stores price list so there is no question. The selection of food and kid desirables could be better, much of the store seems very specific to Asian households. Then again, it is a Japanese store specifically marketing Japanese goods, so I get it. Overall, an ok store with fair offerings, especially since no one is flying to Japan for a day. read more

After dinner I decided that I'm going to head out to Daiso. I always check this store out whenever I am in town and they also have another branch in San Diego and Orange County in Anaheim. I have been to several Daiso stores in Japan while on vacation and I am looking forward to seeing the Daisos in Japan on my next trip there, as they have a lot more selection and it is actually cheaper. Because in United States, price start at $1.50. I think if I remember correctly, the stores in Japan are 100 yen which is equivalent to less than a dollar. These stores give some serious competition to the 99 Cent and Dollar Tree stores in the United States, however they do have different things, so in a way it does not compare in all aspects, however I do enjoy this store for specific things and the other stores for certain things as well. But when it comes to cleanliness and organization, Daiso beats everybody hands down. The bad thing is that whenever I go to any of these stores, I end up walking out with a whole bunch of things that I really did not need to buy, but because it was cheap I bought it. read more

We're doing the Daiso tour! This is our 3rd Daiso this week and, so far it doesn't disappoint. We spent way too much money there as usual, you just can't help it with all the merchandise and the isles never end. It might be a good idea to set a spending limit before you enter because it's hard to leave without 1/2 the store. Had a cart full of items when at 7:30pm on a Sunday an announcement came on the intercom saying we had 30 mins left to make purchases before they closed at 8pm. Immediately after the announcement- they turned off the lights in the store and cut the music. This is not an exaggeration- it was right after- a full 30 minutes before closing. I thought this was pretty inappropriate. I put all my items back and left the store. This could also turn into a lawsuit if someone fell and took this as an opportunity to get some easy money.
