Says they open at 8am. So I'm here, it's 8:12am but the doors are locked. I see employees inside but they aren't in a hurry to open.

Been here over the last couple of weeks and the shelves have been empty. Can't find the usual staples like plastic storage bins, cleaning supplies (mop heads, scrubbing brushes, etc.), and variety in tools section.They usually have a great selection of seasonal stuff but it seems that area was pretty sparse too with a few sand buckets and some flags for the Fourth of July. read more

This store gets no stars. Worst store ever. Only 1 cashier and I was an old man. I get up to the register and he is on her personal phone on a personal call. I told him I needed a bag. He starts ringing my stuff up and starts putting stuff on the counter I'm like I need a bag after the 3rd time telling him he says throws my stuff in the bag and finishing up my stuff at the same time he says he on a Personal call. This is a great Dollar Tree, huge and nicely organized and kept very clean. I always find stationery that I like as well as nice gift bags that I like to customized and seasonal items, like Valentines cards and goodies. Visiting the dollar tree is definitely an upgrade over $.99 store and you can tell by the quality of the product offerings. This location is very easy to get to this lots of parking and it most times is organize the only problem I have with this dollar store in particular is the structure of the line. Also, during check out I wish instead of scanning each item individually just enter 50 ×one dollar would make life so much easier and make the process run smoother but I do understand they got to maintain their inventory numbers so it is what it is. I've never tried the frozen food that I do see people stock up on many other items there someone actually have a steak wow that's the greatest thing that I've ever seen great it's not great but she swore by it and said it was actually pretty good maybe I'll actually convince myself to get one next time. I thought it would be different at this location but apparently not. I like going to a business establishment snd being in and out. Not waiting periods. It's usually one cashier most of the time. The dollar tree here is so nice??? Like it's very organized compared to other dollar trees that I have been to. Additionally, the workers here are very personable and like to make conversation which I liked! I don't like having cashiers that don't even acknowledge my existence, so its nice to have a cashier that is actually willing to make conversation and joke around. With this being said, this is probably the smallest dollar tree location I have been to so the variety of things is limited. But it is on the main road which is verrrry convenient! Also once I came and they actually let customers in before opening time, I have never seen this happen anywhere in my life! read more

I never write any negative reviews anywhere even if I have bad experience but this time I have to write one because I don't want this happen to anyone. I alway alway come here for quick school/craft supplies. That day (it happened last month) I took my oldest son with me (he's mild autistic) for some supplies for his school project. When we were waiting at check out line, mind you we didn't stand close to the person in front of us and it's not like we are in pandemic and we had to stand in the red circle that mark on the floor. When the lady were done putting everything in the bag for the customer, my son put our stuff on there but I told him no, we had to wait for them to completely done check out and step back (we weren't close like face to face to the customer in front). The staff (that checked out for customer) said very loudly to us especially to my son " can you guy step back far away so this lady can have space?" And mind you, the customer didn't say or complain anything, she was friendly with us the whole time. I was embarrassed in front of everyone and we didn't even stand close, and she did hear me tell my son to step back when he accidentally put our stuff on the table but she felt like the need to say that even though the customer didn't complain or say anything. I was upset, I told her "ma'am, my son is autistic, and we didn't even stand close to her", she replied " oh my grandson is autistic too so I understand ".... No, she's not. If she understands, she will find different way to approach to us/him....not that way in front of everyone. The customer turned around and apologized to us and said "there's nothing wrong and you guys didnt stand close to me".... I'm confuse. Am i just being sensitive??? My son was upset because he didn't understand why he got yelled at when he didn't do anything wrong. I had to explain to him on the way driving home. She tried to make some conversation with us when different staff checked us out , she can tell that I'm upset. If the customer speak up and said that to us to give her space... then I won't be that upset but in this case, the customer was not the one complaining, the staff was. read more

And when you go to return they let you wait in the same line just to tell you exchange only just to wait again. Shelly, Cheryl, Liane and Jessica are the ones that I have interacted with. What a nice group - so personable and helpful. Really. I stop by every couple of months to pick up items like mailing envelopes, ziplock baggies and these great moisture absorbing containers that I can't seem to find anywhere else; they're a lifesaver in our windowless laundry area and bathroom. The time waiting in line varies depending on how many items the people ahead of you are purchasing. I haven't ever had to wait exceedingly long. There's plenty of parking in the lot. I suggest you create a shopping list PRIOR to entering the store because tossing $1 items into your cart on a whim can add up quickly...not that I say that from experience or anything... read more

I was at the Dollar Tree on New Years Day, incident occurreed around 12:25PM. I looking for some sort of container to put donuts in and I was in the Tupperware isle when I heard the guy behind the security partition loudly talking about Trump and then he said offensive things like fuck this and fuck that. Finally, I had had enough so I banged on the window and I told him "Hey, would you watch your language? There are children in this place and you're talking Trump and saying the F word a lot." His response was "Go fuck yourself!" I was shocked. He then said, "Lady it's freedom of speech I can say whatever the hell I want. I'm going to call the cops if you don't get out of here. Don't be listening to my conversation." I couldn't help but listen to his conversation since it was so LOUD! I said "Don't you know that the customer is always right?" And his response was, "Fuck you lady." He then continued to use it inappropriate language behind the partition, talking to someone and saying, "She should be listening to my conversation anyways. Who does she think she is." And using the F word multiple times. I finally was just so pissed that I left but not before I asked the guy at the register what his name is and he said it was John, the store manager. He had this look on his face like, yeah this guy does all sorts of stuff like that all the time. He was saying now much he hates Trump While I'm also not a Trump supporter, many people in Poway are. You shouldn't be talking politics at your place of business and you especially shouldn't be using the f word. But you absolutely shouldn't be telling a customer to go fuck yourself. He should have said "Sorry, I didn't realize the customers could hear us and we won't talk that way anymore." That's what a good manager would do. I wanted to tell him to come out and tell it to my face... But I didn't want to provoke him anymore because he was unhinged and might have tried to beat me up. I contacted the district manager and reported the incident. If You Care About Your Children, You Won't Patron This Store!!! The manager might cuss them out too or at the very least, they could hear this awful language. It's a toxic environment there. read more

Not bad for a dollar store. I could spend at least an hour here just looking at random things. I only went here because I needed some inexpensive vases for an event that I'm doing. Right when I entered, Regina greeted me (she was greeter/busy setting up the school supplies). Sure she was doing something while she greeted me but she actually made eye contact, so that was okay in my book. There's so many random things in the store and everything was affordable. I immediately knew where the vases were and they had a lot of options. I also purchased random paper goods and a book. After it all said and done, I left there with $17 worth of goods. They even wrapped up my vases and placed it in a box. They were pretty friendly and they knew when to say hi and when to leave you alone. The store was clean. I visited the Poway Dollar tree store today with both my young boys. We were looking at Halloween decor, party supplies and of course the toy aisle. As both my boys and I made are way through to the end of the aisle one of the Dollar tree associates walked over and stood at the end of the aisle and proceeded to ask me "did your children make this mess?" Honestly, I was shocked to the accusation he was making since the whole aisle was a mess and other customers were shopping the aisle. But instead he decided to ask me! I responded and ask him "excuse me?" He responded "did your children make this mess?" (As my boys were looking at some toys in the shelf) I was offended and told him "No, this mess was already here when we got here!" At this point it seemed like my answer just irritated him even more and he began to pick up frantically making my kids feel uncomfortable. My 3 year old son began helping him pick up, because he noticed how upset this man was. He then started to make a phone call to another associate telling him loudly to review the cameras for the last 30 mins because he wants to make sure the customer who did this before he gets them kicked out! He began to keep and eye on me and my boys as we continued shopping and by this point I was furious! I felt a sense of harassment, embarrassment and disrespect! I have shopped at this location multiple times and I have never had such thing happen like this! I make sure my kids put back anything they touch and I would have NEVER let them just throw something on the ground! I have contacted corporate, and have called the store for names, at this time I wish to be contacted and have him apologize for such embarrassment and accusations of my kids making that mess. read more

Always loved Dollar Tree! $1.00 for everything in the store! Location is a little small and in some ways, "messy" a but still a great value on a lot of finds. Bought some A1 steak sauce (5 oz.) for $1.00! Only complaint is the lack of employees - the line backed up while I was there but they only had 2 employees for the whole store. I would be broke buying party decorations without Dollar Tree. $1 will get you an inflated Mylar balloon with a plastic weight to tie on the ribbon string. How is that possible for a dollar? The helium alone is probably worth a buck. Naturally, they run out of stock on a lot of balloons but they have a big selection and you'll just have to settle for duplicates. Beggars can't be choosers. The alternative is you can spend 3 to 5 times more money at a party store. read more

This place has a lot of party supplies and they have tons of stuff for holidays throughout the year. Everything is $1 too! They inflate balloons here as well. They have a lot of different ones to choose from. They have lots of greeting cards of all types. There is a wall full of cheap kitchen utensils. They have cleaning supplies and toys for kids. All of the supplies here are definitely made by hard working 8 year olds a in China, but it's hard to pass up something for $1. Staff are friendly. There isn't anyone circulating the store, but there are usually a couple employees at the front to answer any questions. If they aren't being nice to you, just keep pointing at items and ask them how much they are. read more

I went crazy here shopping for bits and pieces of my daughters birthday party coming up. $1 for pink plates, cups, everything!!! Why go anywhere else when you can get the bulk for $1?! Sweet deal. They have food supplies, party supplies, cleaning supplies, cards, holiday decorations, cooking utensils.. Everything! Did you know you can buy a bottle of Tapatio here for.., yep you guessed it, $1!!!! Get out of town! Cashier was super friendly. She took the time to chat with us about our upcoming party and was friendly with the baby. Parking: a lot of it, never a problem.
