I found out about Spring Valley Upholstery about two years ago. My Mom surprised me and had her two Baker accent chairs re-done. I was so surprised as my Mom was clever she took the chairs as the had exposed legs, longer legs and Ruben Upholstered them in a heavy off white with a dark red stripe added the shirt covering the legs but kept the integrity of the Baker fine tailoring matching the stripes and cut the welt on the bias. The two chairs are used often and look like new.stunning from every angle. Sense then as a designer by trade Ruben has done several large jobs to small changes or updating on individual items. One thing if your like myself or My Mom and have a concept or idea he is able to carry it out and its so satisfying to have someone actually carry out the concept to a reality and leave you pleased beyond your expectations. I find Rubens professionalism and the way he has accommodated me on jobs with clients invaluable! Because he is rare a man of his word and He remembered and always gave me the extra fabric or suggested and made some very beautiful accent pillows and the best part is his labor is reasonable and just the finest tailoring replicating the original details to a T. Its rare these days to find a craftsman who is not only fair but the work done for the money is exceptional! Ill send photos soon. You can have confidence at Spring Valley Upholstery that your cherished heirloom can go from Drab to Fabuloso! ha! Thank you! Ruben for your work and that you please my Mom so much so that she loves you! And believe me she reserves that for a job well done! Ruben your a gem! Thank you again for everything! Im grateful for all the work you have done for me, my Mom and all of my clients. Cant wait to get my newest chair Chair! im so excited! Sincerely, James Mardeusz read more

his work is no good. Did some horrible work on my chairs and I returned it back to him so he could correct just left my chairs took the money and left. I won't recommend this man to do any work for anyone! Also my sister left him some couches to get work on and as well did the same mess of work he did left the couches in front of of the door took the money and left!!! Don't get ripped off by this man. read more

No need to look any further for your upholstery needs, Ruben (the owner) and Jose do excellent work and prices are very reasonable. Without my thinking to ask, Jose lined up the pattern to match on each of my dining chairs and they turned out beautiful. The attention to detail is evidenced even in the edges underneath not normally seen. I also had outdoor bar stool cushions made and Rueben suggested piping to give them a nice finished/elevated look and they turned out perfect as well. read more

They did an excellent job reupholstering the seat cushions for our refinished dining chairs. They were great to work with and did and outstanding job, including adding a sharp beaded line to make a good edge fur the seat. In addition, the job was very reasonably priced. We highly recommend them. read more

I LOVE this Shop! Every item that I have given to Him to recover for me has turned out better than I imagined. He is an Artist! He takes extra steps, goes above and beyond what was asked of him. A Chair, I found at the Dumpster...He turned into a Master Piece. It did not have Piping, but it had great curves. It's Wood was worn, but he put his magic touch to it as well. The Piping accuates the beautiful curves, the wood is returned to is like new luster... I loved the chair when I first saw it just sitting there, rejected at the dumpster. And just look what He has done for it! It will be in My Family for Years and Years to come. I can't thank Spring Valley Upholstery enough for the work they do for out treasured pieces. Don't even think about going anywhere else. One, You'll pay way more, and get a substandard job. This Man is a Artist and the Price is So Right! Thank You So Much!!! God Bless read more

I was hesitant to take my husband's grandmother's dining table to get upholstered. I did not want to mess them up, but they were in pretty bad shape. Great job making my sofa slipcovers. I took them the old slipcovers as a pattern. I told them they could take them apart. When I picked the new ones up the old slipcovers were still intact! The new ones fit perfectly. Quick turnaround! I will go back!!! Soon!!! read more

Ruben has excellent service. I took these 2 stools on a Wednesday and by Friday, he had finished them. He even covered them with a heavier vinyl. He called me to remind me they were ready and even to alert me that he was stepping out. He was such a gentleman and took the stools out of my trunk and placed them back when ready. I plan to bring all my business to Mr. Ruben. read more

Ruben did an excellent job upholstering the seats of four high quality dining room chairs. I was referred by a store that sells estate furniture and needs a great deal of furniture reupholstered. I'm so glad that she told me about this business which is reasonably priced and does great artisan work. The fabric of my chairs was in good condition but the padding of the seats were flat. I did not want to replace the fabric, as that would have involved changing the front and back panels of the top / back part of each chair. This is a delicate job that many shops will not perform, as they must be very careful to not tear the fabric. The seats look as good as new and they are very firmly comfortable. Very fair price for excellent work! read more

Ruben and company were terrific. The work was perfect. Completed exactly when promised. Six dining room chairs now look like brand new. The price for his service was fair and reasonable. Thanks Ruben. read more

I came to this place based on the previous reviews and I am so glad that I did. I bought a used stroller at a baby resale store and it was pretty dirty, I washed the seat according to the manual. As I was trying to put it back together I noticed an important piece that attaches the seat to the frame of the stroller frayed and I could not attach it. I called the store first and came by same day, he only charged me $10 and took less than 15 minutes. My stroller is now completely intact and I will return here for any other upholstery needs!! *highly satisfied* read more

This is my second upholstery project with Ruben and Spring Valley Upholstery. I had a nice wicker chest that our dog and cat ruined on the top-claws, scratching, etc. It looked horrible and I was tempted to give it to goodwill, but decided that I liked and needed it, so I brought it to Ruben to get some ideas. I don't think he has done this sort of project before, but he was willing to give it a try. I chose some beautiful striped fabric and within a week, he brought it back to me. It's really beautiful-he did an amazing job matching the stripes to the cording around the edges. I really love it. My next challenge is to keep our new kitty from scratching it up! I highly recommend this business. read more

I forgot to do a before picture but this place is pretty legit. It's tucked in a little hole in the wall joint in Spring Valley but don't judge a book by its cover. They do awesome work. I had them re-upholstered an old pink chair that was given to my daughter for Christmas when she was one from my little sister. 5 years later, my sister had my nephew, who just turned one. I had the chair re-upholstered to grey and re-gift this back to him on Christmas Day. When I picked it up, I couldn't believe how great it looked! They don't have many fabric choices so make sure you shop for your own when bringing in your pieces. I got Lucky with this simple grey fabric. Give them a try! You won't be disappointed. read more

Cesar and his crew at Spring Valley Upholstery did an amazing job on my mid century modern bar stools. The backs of these chairs are tricky to get just right, but they were done to perfection. Did I mention the excellent service? They came and picked up the chairs at my home, contacted me when they were done and dropped them off. So quick, easy and convenient. Pricing is fair, and better than many other companies out there. (Have you ever tried to upholster things? Just removing old staples is a major pain!) I will definitely be using Spring Valley Upholstery for future furniture projects. read more

I wish I would have taken pictures before I had Ruben repair my couch cushions, but unfortunately I did not. My dog peed on a couple areas of the couch, so we had to wash the covers. However, when we did, the fabric around the zipper tore when putting it back on and the zipper itself failed. So, I needed the under fabric and zipper replaced on three cushions of a sectional couch. Other places in the area wanted to charge me MUCH more and had a week or so turnaround. Ruben did the work at a fraction of the price and got it back to me the NEXT DAY. I was super impressed with the attention to detail he had, the work was top notch and exactly what I needed. Would recommend him to anyone in need of upholstery work. Thanks again for the hard work, Ruben! read more

Wow! The owner was amazing! I was referred by my dad who found this shop on yelp. I recently purchased a vintage table and the seats needed to reupholstered. I brought in the seats and spoke with the owner about what I wanted. Although he purchased the color I chose he called me to tell me that he was worried it was too light. I came back and I agreed. He changed the color to a darker color at no charge. I found the service to be outstanding and I am LOVE my new/old table read more

Spring Valley upholstery is the best for custom upholstery work. Cesar gives you great customer service, attention to detail and follow up. I had pillows made that were custom shape and size.
