Affirmed next day service, send team to install, wall mount over fireplace ok, will take down old tv but not remove from premises-all good. We then purchased service from a card on rack for our size tv and Target employee activated. Made first appointment for Installation after tv delivered. Waiting, waiting, called Hello tech, appt cancelled they said. Agreed to send "reliable guy" later in day...waiting calling and again cancelled. Next day told they'd come at 10 am, no show called: "on the way, 10 minutes out. No show. 5 cancelled appointments and all but on were we told no coming until after we waited and called. We cancelled, still trying to get our money back for prepaid service sold at Target' Frankly outrageous! People answering phones seem not to understand what is reality on the ground. I wanted to learn how to send a PDF with Word. The guy who came to my house was not very professional and proceeded to try to teach me to send PDFs with another bit of software that I didn't have???? What the hell!!! Then I started getting spam of theirs for which they will charge you 10.99 per month. They charge it to the card you used for the one time tech appointment. I bought a TV at Target, decided I needed help to mount the 55' inch TV, I saw they had HelloTech at Target, paid for the service at Target and bought me a Tv mount as well. They person they sent to mount my TV arrived at 10am a hour and half later the technician still was having trouble mounting my TV. I had to leave the technician at my place because I didn't want to be late for work. Technician text me like the TV up you good. I got home as soon as I turn the Tv one of the screws popped out and I had to grab my TV. I contacted HelloTech and said ok no problem we will send someone to complete the job. The next technician was unable to complete the job because the previous technician took the extra screws that came with the TV mount. So finally I was able to connect with someone who assured me they will fix this issue. Two and half weeks later my issue still Mit resolved I was charged for a service that wasn't completed one of the technician took my extra screws that came with the TV mount and my TV is damaged. I asked for a manager or supervisor many times, they always say the manager/ supervisor is out. Two over the phone support disconnect the line purposely while in mid conversation smh I see they don't give a flying fuck at this company. Let's start with brian did a great job putting my large TV on the wall. That said, the company set a few things up wrong. I said I didn't want to lift the TV when they asked in their online form, so I expected two people, but there was only one person sent, so I had to help lift the TV. It's fine, but don't setup the expectation that I won't have to help. Also, $169 was really expensive for about 20 mins of work, he did a really good job granted, but given I had to help, it's pricey. Plus don't force me to turn off auto renew on a membership I never asked for. A few last nit pics, he didn't cleanup the sawdust from drilling (not really a big deal, but given the cost would have been nice), also, he didn't have anything to wipe off the fingerprints from the TV screen after lifting etc. Those two things are huge deals but would have made it a five star review. He was very nice and super fast, plus he was able to make an earlier time than was scheduled which was helpful. read more

I contacted helloTech on 8/12/2023 to schedule an install of surveillance cameras on 8/22/2023. Note this was to exchange out old cameras. My appt was confirmed with Rahsaan @ 11am. I traveled from Las Vegas to my second home in California to be present. At 10:30 am on install day I received an email informing me my technician was no longer available. I immediately called to see what time someone would be there to provide service. Throughout the entire day, even after speaking with manager Teresa I never received an appointment. Teresa informed me that dispatch made arrangements and it was up to them to find a tech. Teresa's last call with me was at about 4pm and she stated she would call back by 5pm. This never happened! She went home for the night, with no other person to follow up. I communicated with HelloTech from 10:30am to 5:15pm. It was of no concern that I had traveled from another state to get this done. I finally that night cancelled my request for service. HelloTech is a joke! I would not recommend this company to anyone. HelloTech needs lot of customer service training including qualified staff to replace techs when they cancel appointments. read more

Service was provided, however, I mistakenly joined membership for the year and did not cancel in first 30 days. You cannot cancel this membership at all. I am forced to pay monthly fee for the year. They said contract binding. Do not join membership thinking you are getting a lesser price for service. You are paying WAY more and if not used lose out of money for a year. HelloTech proves the adage "You get what you pay for." They undercut Best Buy's Geek Squad by almost half when it comes to setting up electronics at one's home. It's pretty obvious HelloTech is not a brick-and-mortar outfit. Not that there's anything wrong with that. Their website looks credible and they're quick to offer their personal online chat. I've experienced their online chat a few times, and each time it seemed like the representative was overwhelmed by too much info coming in vs. the amount of info they could push out. "Too bad about your problem, but I've got about five chats going at once...call this phone number instead!" (paraphrasing) So I did call them. When I talked to HelloTech by phone, I was connected to a young mother who's obviously working from home. (I could tell this from the sound of the bassinet music box and the crying baby.) My HelloTech representative did not have 100% focus on my needs, yet she took my credit card info and read a disclaimer-filled script with ease, and promised me I'd have HelloTech's very best people attending to my issue. At the day and time of my appointment, indeed a HelloTech representative showed up at my house. I'm inclined to believe that this HelloTech rep lived in the vehicle he drove. His dog was inside the car, which looked like a combination dog kennel and camper. The representative seemed knowledgeable enough, but he arrived with an order that was simply not correct. The things I needed help with were not a part of his work order. Things I had assured Ms. Crying Baby I could handle myself were on his to-do list instead. At the end of his visit, I had a TV that I could turn on and off, but any extra features were mine to figure out. The company promised me a ten-dollar discount for providing my email address on my first website visit, then neglected to credit the $10 to my order. I had to hit them pretty hard with a complaint email to get a $10 refund promise, and I have yet to see the $10 hit my credit card account. Tech came to install a coax cable in our attic from one room to another. A very simple job. I asked he calls me before drilling the hole on the wall for the outlet. He didn't. He did a sloppy job leaving the cable loosely hanging in the wall space in the attic. I have to call him out to staple it to posts keep it cleaner. Even then the end job looks very sloppy. Our tech arrived a little early, which was fine by us. Got to work right away to assess my old wall mount to see if it would work with my new TV. Would never use this company again. After many times trying to schedule an installation of video doorbell they finally send a guy out who knew nothing about what he was doing. Tried installing without all the parts it came with then installed the doorbell crooked on my house. So now my stucco is damaged as it will have to be removed and repaired.
