I was scammed about a month ago and Hadi and Justin found software on my computer that has been used by the scammers. They removed that foreign software but i was concerned that the scammers could have left some software on my computer -- it would allow them to come again and continue to take advantage of me. Hadi and Justin installed a completely new operating system and installed only the files that had been created before the scam. I feel now confident that I am safe and will only click on unsolicited messages if I know the senders. The manager, Hadi, is a good man, and willing to deal with issues and talk about solutions. I had a complaint, and came on pretty strong, not hostile, but firm and with some pointed concerns, and he stepped up, acted like a person of quality and met me in the middle. You don't find people like that often, and although I had an issue with something that was not to my liking, the best possible resolution is when there's listening and give and take, which Hadi, the manager there, definitely demostrated, not just lip service, but genuine accountability. I can recommend this shop for this reason, the work I had done was minimal, too simple to recommend them beyond what I've said, but I have no reason to believe that these ethics do not extend to their workmanship. read more

I've turned to them several times over the past couple of years and have always been delighted with the result. Just recently, Hadi and his team successfully solved the thorny Outlook issues that had made emailing a total nightmare. These started happening after another repair shop had done my upgrade to Windows 11 without anticipating or correcting these potential problems. The solutions were complicated, but Hadi stayed on the case over a couple of visits until my Outlook delays and contact issues were completely resolved. He also reactivated my File History backup function which had been inexplicably disabled in the upgrade. It was a relief to work over several visits with a single technician who could provide such seamless service. He also did the work for a fair price and on time. My Toshiba Satelite P55W DJ-slash-work laptop is one of those hybrid "360" models where the screen flips around to where it can function as a bulky tablet or as a presentation screen in addition to a laptop. As a DJ computer, I've leaned heavily on the screen-touch functionality as part of my workflow. When that suddenly died one day, I was listless, languid, and lost. I was hesitant to get it fixed, thinking it might cost as much as just getting a new laptop, but the crew at Computerland made fixing a financially viable option. Turns out it was a connection issue, not a screen failure, and they got it sorted for me right away. Hooray! I also tried upgrading the hard drive to an SSD on my own, but apparently lacked the dexterity to get all the teeny connecting wirely-bits to line up correctly, most likely due to my long nails, and my low frustration tolerance level in dealing with the complexity of it. Computerland's crew figured it out like it was no big deal, and called me the next day to explain it, and I could pick it up when I was ready. Awesome! The prices are reasonable, and they are just a few blocks from the Berkeley stop; no need for a car. Go bring in your problem puters and see what they think--it might not be as terrible a solution as you presuppose; it could be pretty great. read more

AMAZING STAFF, OWNER & BUSINESS!!! These guys worked with me so hard. I had completely disassembled my $400 HP printer, put it back together and something went wrong and the screen wouldn't light up. They're not only found the tiny wire inside a very, very small cable that I have broken, they showed me a picture of it and gave me a complete tutorial. then they went on to explain why my printer wasn't working anymore. It had smeared printing because over five years, I've been using aftermarket toner on an HP printer. I then asked for a recommendation on a high volume printer for home use. That's in between category between home desktop and large office printers. They said they didn't know but they researched it and called me back a couple of days later with really excellent advice I took and purchased the printer they recommended! Then one day I was nearby installed a large projection system and didn't have a long enough power cable. I went in and explained and they gave me a 10 foot power cable for free. But most important these people are are very friendly as well as mean technical experts... But very humble about it and they really listen care about the customers. Wow! read more
