And Apple, in their infinite wisdom, decides to *update* their Macs--great, but they only offer a 2TB drive now. And here I am, stuck with my 2015 iMac's 3TB Fusion Drive. Big mistake. Huge. Fusion Drives are basically the "mystery meat" of the Mac world. They look good on paper, but eventually, you'll be paying the price. And then the waiting game began. "Any day now, the new M2/M3/M4 iMacs will come with a 3TB option," I thought. Spoiler: they didn't. So, I finally break down and order the new M4 Pro Mac Mini. It arrives. I plug it in. Time to migrate my old iMac's data. Migration Assistant says, "Oh, don't worry, just 154 hours to go!" A full week and a half of my life! I let it do its thing and go to bed, thinking I'll wake up to a shiny new Mac full of old memories. But no. The next morning, migration stalls. I reboot both computers like some sort of tech priest performing a ritual, and bam--my iMac is dead. Not "almost dead." Not "in a coma." DEAD. And then... the reality hits. My TimeMachine backup was a myth. A *legend* never to be realized. And the Time Capsule it was on? Gone. *Gone* like the last slice of pizza at a party. So, off to the Apple store I go, hoping for a miracle. They keep my iMac for two days, only to return it to me with... *an OS, but no data*. What? Summer of 2022, the keyboard on my laptop broke, and I paid Computerland to fix it. When I got my laptop back, everything seemed to be fine. Two years later, the screen of the laptop detached from the motherboard. Upon closer examination, the bottom of my laptop was missing 5 out of its 8 screws. Amazing experience getting my Dell laptop repaired by Hadi. He was able to sort out an issue I've been dealing with for months with my computer not charging, which I had struggled to fix myself by replacing the battery and DC input jack and buying 2 new chargers. It turned out to have been an issue with the power regulator, and he was kind enough to replace the broken part with one salvaged from an old motherboard which saved me both money and time. Not only that, but they helped me get my computer fixed in time for an important deadline. An absolute angel!!!! I cannot thank Hadi enough for saving years of my hard work. I had purchased this mini USB on Amazon. Over time I noticed when I'd remove it, it was hot to the touch. It held all my self-published work, 600 page books I was planning on publishing at some point. But I also had a copy of the folders on my laptop. Then one day my laptop started acting up and Apple had to wipe it. No big deal I thought I have everything backed up on my USB. WRONG! As soon as I put it into my laptop to pull some folders off it...nothing. It wouldn't read. Frantic I emailed several data companies for quotes. I got quoted $150 to $3,555. My budget was $250, that's unfortunately all I could spare as a recent grad. So I started with the cheapest option, and he could do nothing to save my work. Told me he suspected it was a physical issue. I was hysterical. Another company quoted me $300 so I sent it to them only for them to tell me it would actually be $870 and they had to re-sodder the reader (or something) to try to get the device to read again. I told them I couldn't afford it and begged them to reconsider a lower amount because it was my life's work, they said no they had to make money since they're a business. So they sent it back with a warning that the more people played with it the worse it would be to recover anything. Thats when I messaged Hadi, he suggested either they could try to save it or I could try Data Savers which he highly recommended as a very skilled company and gave me a coupon to use them. So I sent it to them only to have them tell me it was a $3,555 dollar job. Nope. Send it back I said. When I told Hadi what they said he said the job likely was because of hardware and that costs more to fix. I told him my budget was so tight and the max I could push myself was $350. He graciously accepted and saved the day! I worked 2 years on one book thats 686 pages. It's my baby and to have thought it was all gone was devastating. When I went to pick up my files turns out the extra USB's I had weren't enough to put all the saved files on so he gave me one of his personal USB's to use to take my data home. I am sending it back this week as I write this. I cannot thank him enough for corresponding with me through all of it, recommending other companies he thought were more skilled to handle the job and patiently and graciously working with me and within my budget when others wouldn't. I've now saved my work on multiple devices etc, because you know, lessons learned. But if you somehow end up in the same unfortunate boat I did, Hadi is your guy! read more

I took my PC here because I couldn't figure out why it was stuck at the BIOS splash screen. ComputerLand's Justin ran diagnostics and identified that my SSD was cooked. Oof oww ouchies, almost precisely one year after its manufacturer warranty expired. Oh well. I know how to install an SSD myself, so I told Justin I don't need them to do that and asked how much I owed them. The answer: ZERO! Diagnosis is free! Whaaat. My macbook pro got glitchy after being left outside one night... The "Genius Bar" said I would need a new motherboard for over $700 and that it wasn't worth fixing. Another repair place said it would be even more. Computerland took the time to investigate; they only charged me $150 and got it working again. I have to manually put it to sleep instead of just closing the lid, but I was happy that Computerland came up with a practical work-around that didn't cost a fortune, and didn't try to sell me a more expensive solution. My LG 5K monitor unfortunately had the usb-c power/monitor port malfunction (it's a common issue with these very expensive monitors). Had a 7 year old Macbook that's battery couldn't hold a charge anymore. Everything from start to finish was excellent! Reception was very friendly. They were helping another customer but were able to get me started on filing out a request form. Shortly afterwards, they were able to submit the request, take my Macbook. They estimated it would be done on Wednesday (I went in on a Saturday) since they needed to order the specific battery, do labor and test it. On Tuesday, I was asked to pick it up.
