Water leaked out of my Yeti in my bag and liquid made its way into my 2020 MB Air causing it to shut down and not power up. I took it to Apple for diagnostics and they offered to replace the processor for $800 ( I would also lose all my data because the storage was integrated with the processor). I sent out mass requests via yelp to data recovery specialists so I can hope to recover what was salvageable in my internal storage. iRepair Cell & Tablets were the most prompt and quickest to respond so I gave them a visit and dropped my MB Air off hoping they can help with my issue. The following day, they found out it was only the power supply board that needed to be replaced and went ahead and replaced it. Everything booted up normally and all my data was intact. I felt so much relief knowing I didn't need to go forward with the data recovery process (which is potentially very costly) or even replace the entire processor as Apple recommended. Our son was using our family iPad Pro 12.9" 2nd Gen one day and poof, the screen blacked out and we weren't able to get it to startup or even get the battery charging screen. Took it to the Apple store and the tech said it looked like there were some bent pins in the lightning port, but it would take about $599 to "fix". They said they don't really fix the iPads, they just replace it with a refurbished model, which is why it was so expensive. Try number 2 was to ask for quotes through Yelp. Told a few vendors about the situation and got quotes of $449.99 and $576. No and no there. iRepair Cell & Tablets was the only one that said, please call me and we'll talk through the situation. I called up Yama and he said, here's the deal - there's a chance that the screen cracks when we open up the iPad and the cost to replace the screen is very high on this model. As long as I was ok with the potential for damage to the screen, he could take a look. I was fine with that since the iPad was basically a hunk of metal at that point. When I went to the shop, I didn't know quite what to expect. The shop is a small office on the second floor of a small business center. Yama is working out of a small room in that small office. I handed over my iPad and waited patiently in the office for about an hour. Yama opened it up and replaced the port with no luck. He said unfortunately, the port wasn't the issue, but if he could hold onto it for a while, he could check the battery and then the other internals. A few weeks went by and Yama was able to run some tests and it turns out the CPU is fried. So, not really a happy ending for the iPad, but Yama put in a ton of effort into diagnosing the problem and didn't charge me anything for his time. I would give Yama 10 stars if I could. I AM SO GLAD I FOUND THIS PLACE!! I was about to go to another repair shop in Walnut Creek that was dishonest about their hours on the door and on Yelp, and was also asking a $40 flat rate for my issue. My only issue was that there was a broken piece of charger cord lodged in the charger port for my iPhone that i couldn't get out. After commuting in rush-hour traffic after work to Walnut Creek, and feeling let down by the business that I was going to go to, I instead I called this lovely business late in the evening, around 5:00 PM. A pleasant gentleman picked up the phone and said that he would take a look, and when I asked him if he had a flat rate, and he said if it was easy enough for him to get the piece out,, he would not charge me for the service. I pulled up to this business instead, was greeted by the gentleman who I presume I spoke with on the phone. I handed him my phone and i kid you not--He stepped into his office for what could not have been more than 30 seconds, walked out out of the office and told me i was all good to go. I requested a quote to fix an iPhone X screen via Yelp and received a reply within minutes. I got quotes from other places as well, but iRepair seemed the most reputable. The price was extremely reasonable at $100 for the LCD screen and he also gave me two other options: OLED for $140 and OEM for $180. He told me that there was no need to make an appointment. I walked in a few hours later that day in the afternoon. The store is located in the same building as CREAM on the second floor. I walked in and there was no other customer waiting before me. I asked him which screen he would suggest and when I told him that I was going to do a trade-in he was honest with me and told me that I would just need to get the LCD screen. I appreciated his honesty because some businessmen/women try to get you to buy the most expensive one. He fixed my screen in less than 10 minutes and now my phone looks perfectly new. I did notice there is a slight difference between the new screen and my old Apple screen, which Yama told me before I got the screen fixed but honestly, you should already expect that going in. He also let me know that it doesn't matter if you just get the LCD screen if you're going to trade in the phone anyways.
