I took it over to them fully expecting to have to pay for the service to reset it. They did it while I was standing there took them about five minutes or less. It didn't charge me anything. I do recommend ScreenWorks, mostly from past experience. The pricing was reasonable and they guarantee their work. I had an issue reoccur which was repaired without cost. Experiences from several years ago. I brought in two tablets recently for repair. One was dead after being dropped and I was told it might be problematic. The other had a more common issue. I was told I would be contacted with a "diagnosis". That was 6 days ago and I have never been contacted but I've called them twice. Still no status... I suspect they haven't been opened. The person I left them with said he would try examine them the same day. I know it got busy in the shop just before I left so I can understand if that didn't happen. The staff is pleasant to speak with yet I'm having a similar experience to Nathan regarding communication and them setting expectations for me. Based on past experience, I am used to a 1-2 day turnaround so have been very antsy waiting to hear back. It's a shame because I really love this shop but I can't handle them not communicating and/or setting better expectations. When I understand the situation I can be pretty understanding. read more

I went to Screenworks for diagnosing my laptop's cooling issue but looking back I regret going deeply. Despite telling me they would call in two working days, when the deadline came I had to personally call them to get statuses on my laptop. After delaying the repair for two days I decided that it would be best to repair the device myself despite the $75 deposit. But after calling to cancel the repair (since they said to me that nothing has started), they immediately assured me that someone will be working on it soon and claimed that now someone had already took a look and is fixing it. Immediately it was uncomfortable that they would bend that much just to get $175 dollars from me despite what should have been a $8 thermal paste replacement. Despite trying to get me to have them repair my laptop they immaturely ended the call once I had made my decision to take back my laptop. Another representative called me and although they were much more respectful and properly confirmed my cancelled repair, it was telling to me that there is some fishiness with this store. The representative claimed that he had opened my laptop and was starting the repair but after retrieving the laptop, they had lied and it was unopened just when I originally gave it. Since there are rubber magnetic stickers on the screws that were never removed in order to open the device, they had just lied in order to sway me into going through with the repair. Overall I really did not appreciate the dishonesty and unprofessionalism the store and the staff displayed to me and for future customers, beware. read more

There's a reason this place has 5 stars. I needed a screen replacement and though it was on the pricier side ($165 altogether), I am so glad I chose this place to go to. The guy working there is super friendly and fixed my phone in about 20-30 minutes. When I got back home, I realized there was an issue with the screen so I went back to get it fixed (there is a 45 day warranty). He acknowledged the issue and tried to fix it but unfortunately the replacements were also faulty. Though I did have to come back a few days later after it shipped, every time he tried a new screen, he double checked that everything was good and didn't stop trying until I was satisfied. I felt very comfortable telling him if there was still an issue. Definitely worth your money and I would recommend this place to everyone. read more

A little overdue review from 3mos ago before Thanksgiving and I have to say that Austin was a lifesaver since I needed to meet a very strict timeframe with my cellphone carrier for their early upgrade program with timely trade-ins made within 30days upon purchase of the new phones. I remembered getting and packing my iPhone 13s into those provided phone carrier mail envelopes when all of a sudden one of them fell by the edge of the table having butterfingers at the worst of times with the back glass split, lines running in waves about 1/3 to 1/2 going upwards from the bottom. I quickly checked and found out that for my trade-in, it specifically states that the iPhone needs to be in good condition where very minor scratches or scuff marks are typically OKAY around the phone as long as it is still operable, BUT having a cracked front or back glass will render it completely ineligible and I would of have been at a lost of -$830. Therefore, the only solution was to get it fixed immediately and so I found ScreenWorks with the highest rated 5 star reviews around the Tri-Valley area, fair competitive pricing (quality over unreliable/cheaper savings elsewhere is my motto) where you can still purchase the $10 for $20 credit promo OR just ask if they can apply the $10 savings without purchase PLUS it was very conveniently located next to nearby eateries in walking distances without having to drive elsewhere unless necessary so it was really meant to be. It was on a Saturday, I walked-in and spoke to Austin about my situation before noon and was very fortunate to be given the very last customer slot of the day since I was in dire need of mailing it with UPS the next day on Sunday. Mind you, Austin was already swamped with fulfilling 2-3 other customer repairs that day which varied in the length of time spent depending on how difficult the project may be. Austin told me that he really wanted to spend more time on repairing the iPhone 13 back glass as a big project and needed the entire afternoon to evening until closing to have it done which consisted of the following to the best of my own knowledge and feedback obtained after the repair: 1.) Inserting the phone properly in an adjustable clamp for stability before the project begins. 2.) Removal of the broken back glass using microscopic mechanisms by hand which are a combination of magnifiers, tweezers, and brushes WITHOUT shattering excess glass shards which involved lots of precision and energy under a very stressful environment that cannot be rushed. 3.) Placement of the new back glass to match and fit within the frames entirety with application of a clear coat adhesive to make sure that it is sealed properly without any air bubbles or residue using applicable force as needed then letting it airdry naturally on its own. I made sure to be right on time at about 1min before 6pm closing and there was another customer ahead of me who was very satisfy having a really outdated phone that needed signal reception repair for both connectivity to the carrier network to make/answer calls and WiFi to access the internet/purchase apps. Austin made sure that before the customer left, everything was working as planned to ensure quality customer satisfaction BEFORE accepting payment. When it was my turn, I was very happy with the repair as it came out flawless like nothing had ever happened BRAND NEW, Austin even made sure to double check that the back glass was sealed without bubbles, residue or loose parts then turned on the phone for me to see that it is operable exceeding my expectations. Austin then proceeded with my payment honoring the $10 savings without needing to purchase the promo AND not only that, Austin even requested if it was okay to do a little prayer at the end of the night during closing time since it was his ritual for blessings and good sendoffs before ending his workday. It was such an honor and definitely a wonderful experience that I will never forget. Thank you very much Austin, you are the best! I visited them looking for separate opinion after an Apple authorized repair shop just down the street (named after an Australian mammal) told me his estimation after less than 3 minutes was a broken screen inside and would need over $700 to repair and that it probably wasn't worth it and nothing on trade in. it's barely 2 years old and I paid $1300 for this iPad Pro!! I brought into Jimmy at ScreenWorks and after hooking it up to his charger he saw a faint amount of charging being taken. After a 10 minute wait while he took to his work bench, he returned with it working perfectly with an 83% charge. ScreenWorks is the best. My teen's iPhone SE displayed the black screen of death on the 13th month of ownership. It was obviously a display issue as the phone still reacted to touch on the screen. Since the phone itself only costed $200 from the service provider, I didn't want to spend $130 or more for Apple to fix it for me. I've replaced iPhone batteries on my own before so I thought I'd try my own screen replacement. Turns out the Y screw drivers that come with the kit are poorly made, and the internal Y screws in the phone strip easily. In the middle of my DIY, I had two screws that were completely stripped and no DIY way to solve the problem. ScreenWorks was really kind and helpful. I expected to be shamed for trying a DIY, but Austin was very professional and explained my options. He spent the time to explain the difference between my Amazon purchased replacement screen (no Truetone) and one that ScreenWorks would provide. They could fix the phone for $80. For reasons I won't go into for this review, I decided to stick with my DIY plan and Austin was willing to remove the stripped screws and provide replacement screws for $20. Under the circumstances, I thought that was the best solution for me since I was already $30 into this for the part I purchased. I think most other screen replacement shops would have been unwilling to help me DIY. I am so appreciative that they were willing to help me out. Austin said "we like to help people," and it totally shows in their attitude. I was able to finish my DIY, but if I had to do this again, I would go straight to ScreenWorks and not attempt a DIY. Before I started down the DIY path, other places that I contacted wanted about $110 - $150 for a screen replacement. If only I had known about ScreenWorks beforehand. read more

Screenworks saved me both time and significant money. Let me explain: After yet another dumb phone drop, my screen shattered. While I had a protective film over the screen, it was obvious (to me) that the damage was in the glass. I had driven down to Freemont to another place but they were not even open - though their sign indicated they were. I called Screenworks and they said they could accomodate with the stipulation that they would have to express-order the replacement screen. Oh, well.... I dropped-in and, much to my surprise , it was pointed-out that what had actually shattered was the "tempered glass" protective film. So, 25 dollars and 15 minutes later I have my phone back as good as new! Let me say that they could just as easily have told me that, yes, my screen was toast, charged me the 200 dollars or so, and I would have gone ahead and paid-up. They are experts. I had bought a Razer Blade stealth laptop back in 2020, which probably wasn't such a good idea after reading about their build quality later on. Sure enough, well after the warranty expired, my screen started to randomly show a weird discolored bar at the bottom of the screen (see image).
